DESDE LA TEMPESTAD.

Comunicado Conjunto del Congreso Nacional Indígena y el EZLN sobre el cobarde ataque policíaco contra la Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación y la comunidad indígena de Nochixtlán, Oaxaca.

Al Pueblo de México.
A los pueblos del Mundo:

Frente el cobarde ataque represivo que sufrieron los maestros, maestras y la comunidad en Nochixtlán, Oaxaca, -con que el Estado Mexicano nos recuerda que esto es una guerra contra todos y todas-; los pueblos, naciones y tribus que integramos el Congreso Nacional Indígena y el Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional, le decimos al magisterio digno que no está solo, que sabemos que la razón y la verdad están de su lado, que la dignidad colectiva con la que habla su resistencia es inquebrantable y ésa es la principal arma de los que de abajo somos.

Repudiamos la escalada represiva con la que pretenden imponer en todo el país la reforma neoliberal capitalista a la que llaman “educativa”, principalmente en los estados de Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guerrero y Michoacán.  Con amenazas, persecuciones, golpes, encarcelamientos injustos y ahora asesinatos se quiere doblegar la dignidad del magisterio en rebeldía.

Llamamos a nuestros pueblos y a la sociedad civil en general a estar con el magisterio que resiste en todo momento, a reconocernos en él, pues la violencia para despojarlos de garantías laborales básicas con el propósito de hacer privada la educación, es un reflejo de la violencia con la que nos están despojando a los pueblos originarios, a los pueblos campesinos y urbanos.

Quienes se regocijan en el poder decidieron que la educación, la salud, los territorios indígenas y campesinos, e incluso la paz y seguridad, son una mercancía para quien pueda pagarla, que los derechos no son derechos sino productos y servicios que se arrebatan, se despojan, se destruyen, se negocian según lo dicte el gran capital.  Y esta aberración pretenden imponerla de una manera sangrienta; asesinando y desapareciendo a nuestr@s compañer@s, enviando a prisiones de alta seguridad a nuestr@s vocer@s, haciendo de la tortura descarada la mercadotecnia gubernamental y, con ayuda de los medios de comunicación de paga, equiparando con la delincuencia a lo más valioso de la sociedad mexicana, es decir a quienes luchan, no se rinden, no se venden y no claudican.

Exigimos el cese a la represión en contra del magisterio en lucha y la liberación inmediata e incondicional de TODOS los presos políticos.

Invitamos a todos los pueblos del campo y las ciudades a estar atentos y solidarios con la lucha magisterial, a organizarnos de forma autónoma para estar informados y alertas ante esta tormenta que cae sobre todas y todos, sabiendo que una tormenta, además de tempestad y caos, también hace fértil la tierra de donde nace siempre un nuevo mundo.

Desde las montañas, campos, valles, cañadas y barrios de los pueblos, naciones y tribus originarios de México.

¡Nunca más un México Sin Nosotros!

FROM WITHIN THE STORM

Joint Communique from the National Indigenous Congress and the EZLN on the cowardly police attack against the National Coordinating Committee of Education Workers and the indigenous community of Nochixtlán, Oaxaca.

To the People of Mexico:

To the peoples of the World:

Faced with the cowardly repressive attack suffered by the teachers and the community in Nochixtlán, Oaxaca—in which the Mexican state reminds us that this is a war on all—the peoples, nations, and tribes who make up the National Indigenous Congress and the Zapatista Army for National Liberation say to the dignified teachers that they are not alone, that we know that reason and truth are on their side, that the collective dignity from which they speak their resistance is unbreakable, and that this the principal weapon of those of us below.

We condemn the escalation of repression with which the neoliberal capitalist reform, supposedly about “education,” is being imposed across the entire country and principally in the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guerrero, and Michoacán. With threats, persecutions, beatings, unjust imprisonments and now murders they try to break the dignity of the teachers in rebellion.

We call on our peoples and on civil society in general to be with the teachers who resist at all times, to recognize ourselves in them. The violence used to dispossess them of their basic work benefits with the goal of privatizing education is a reflection of the violence with which the originary peoples and rural and urban peoples are dispossessed.

Those who delight in power decided that education, health, indigenous and campesino territories, and even peace and security are a commodity for whoever can pay for them, that rights are not rights but rather products and services to be snatched away, and they dispossess, destroy, and negotiate according to what big capital dictates. And they intend to impose this aberration through bloody means, murdering and disappearing our compañer@s, sending our spokespeople to high security prisons, making shameless torture into government marketing, and with the help of the paid press, criminalizing the bravest part of Mexican society, that is, those who struggle, who do not give in, who do not sell out, and who do not give up.

We demand a halt to the repression against the teachers in struggle and the immediate and unconditional liberation of ALL political prisoners.

We invite all of the peoples of the countryside and cities to be attentive and in solidarity with the teachers’ struggle, to organize autonomously in order to remain informed and alert in the face of the storm that is upon all of us, knowing that a storm, in addition to its turmoil and chaos, also makes the ground fertile where a new world is always born.

From the mountains, countryside, valleys, canyons, and barrios of the originary peoples, nations, and tribes of Mexico.
