Otra vez, un joven negro que no llevaba armas ha sido asesinado por un policía.

Y si por el momento no están claros los hechos sobre cómo sucedieron los disparos, lo que sí está claro es que un policía disparó 8 tiros contra Michael Brown, de 18 años de edad.

Once again, a Black unarmed youth has been killed by a cop.

And while the facts surrounding the shooting are presently unclear, what is clear is that a cop shot 18 year old Michael Brown 8 times.

Según por lo menos un testigo, Brown fue balaceado mientras estaba de pie, con sus manos en alto.

Para quien conozca algo de la historia de los Estados Unidos, este asesinato no es raro.

Es el resultado del trabajo sistemático de la policía a lo largo y ancho del país norteamericano: reprimir, rastrear y convertir en blanco a la población negra.

Este ha sido el caso por generaciones.

Van a salir voces cargadas de excusas pidiendo calma, mientras la rabia crece en el corazón de los negros como reacción al indignante trato. Jamás aquellos que piden calma se vuelven voces que piden una verdadera justicia, porque la justicia es igualdad; y ¿quién se va a atrever a pedir que los policías sean tratados como tratan al pueblo que oprimen?

Porque esas voces no tienen influencia sobre las fuerzas represivas, y de hecho, ninguna posición política en los Estados Unidos la tiene.  Han sido compradas, pagadas; o ambas.

Escuchen las voces de los políticos “negros”.

De hecho, escuchen las voces de los políticos blancos.

Escuchen el furioso silencio.

Se necesitan en los suburbios de San Luis, Missouri –y en cada una de las comunidades de negros de los Estados Unidos– colectivos revolucionarios negros independientes e inflexibles, determinados a proteger la vida y el bienestar del pueblo negro.  Punto.

Las estructuras políticas existentes -calladas ante estos abusos– nos han fallado, y no se puede hacer nada para que sirvan a nuestros intereses.

Es tiempo que aprendamos de ésto, y construyamos para nuestras necesidades futuras.

According to at least one eyewitness, Brown was shot as he stood with his hands up in the air.

To anyone who knows American history, this is not a rarity.

It is the result of a systematic function of police across the country, to repress, track and target the nation’s Black population.

That has been the case for generations.

We shall see voices trotted out to call for calm, as outrage arises in Black hearts in response to outrageous treatment. Never do those calling for calm become voices calling for true justice, for justice is equality; and who dare demand that cops be treated like the people that they oppress?

For they have no influence over the repressive forces, and in fact, no political office in America does. They have been bought off, paid off – or both.

Listen to the voices of ‘Black’ politicians.

Indeed, listen to the voices of white politicians.

Listen to the raging silence.

Needed in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri – and in every Black community in America – are independent, and uncompromising Black revolutionary collectives – determined to protect the lives and wellbeing of Black people –period.

Existing political structures – silent in the face of these outrages –have failed us, and cannot be made to serve our interests.

It’s time to learn from this, and build for our future necessities.
