At a press conference Fabiola Calvo accounts of torture, arbitrary arrest and wrongful incarceration of her husband Andrés López and his brother Joshua, in the hands of FECDO.
The Center for Human Rights (Frayba) has documented torture, arbitrary deprivation of liberty and violation of due process of the brothers Andrew and Joshua Lopez Hernandez (hereinafter Andrew and Joshua), originating in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacan, Chiapas, perpetrated by Special Police Officers assigned to the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime (FECD) of the Attorney General of the State of Chiapas.
At a press conference Fabiola Calvo wife of one of the tortured denounced the actions of the Government of Chiapas FECD in torture and abuse against two indigenous Tzotzil municipality of Pueblo Nuevo Solistahuacan.

The population of Las Peras and the Hutitepec Alcanfores neighbourhood in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, and Cahuaré in Chiapa de Corzo, Tuxtla, have decided to unite their struggle against environmental degredation and pollution created by extractive industries. Children, old people, women – in other words the whole community- are suffering from respiratory illnesses and allergies. These are the result of industrial activities which affect the community´s health at the same time as making others rich (in this case, business-owners working hand in glove with the local authorities) on the back of the suffering of others.
