Our peoples, tribes, communities, organizations, and neighborhoods see with rage and indignation how the bad government boasts its total lack of shame, through its political parties of every color, as it continues to attack our peoples and its political parties continue trying to divide our communities. Our voice will not tire of denouncing and shouting, Enough!

On May 14, brutally and shamelessly, the police and bodyguards of the PAN-PRD candidate Gloria Sánchez López dared to aim their murderous weapons at the dignified community of Álvaro Obregón, Juchitán, injuring the six compañeros who were in an assembly, defending their physical and political territory from deadly wind energy projects, whose “clean” energy is filthy with blood, corruption, and death. The candidates from all of the political parties—who even though they are only candidates feel they can already benefit from the impunity they are granted for belonging to the band of criminals badly governing the state of Oaxaca and the country—believe that with bullets they will manage to change the conscience and kill the dignity of the Binizza people.

El día de hoy 14 de Mayo de 2016, la policía municipal de Juchitán agredió a balazos a miembros de la asamblea general de la comunidad y la policía comunitaria, con un saldo hasta el momento de 5 heridos.

Siendo aproximadamente la una de la tarde, cuando los compañeros Ezequiel Sánchez, Mariano Virgen y Adalberto López de la Asamblea Comunitaria de Álvaro Obregón pasaron frente la oficina de la candidata del PRD-PAN a presidenta municipal, Gloria Sánchez López, fueron apresados por la policía municipal de Juchitán y los agredieron brutalmente, rompiéndoles la cabeza, costillas, brazos y otras partes del cuerpo, miembros del cabildo y la policía comunitaria llegaron en auxilio para ayudar a los compañeros, pero fueron recibidos a balazos por la policía municipal de Juchitán y personas armadas vestidas de civil, resultando heridos de gravedad los compañeros Juan Martínez Jiménez, suplente del agente comunitario; Cesar Toledo Vicente, comandante de la policía comunitaria y José Andrés Jiménez de 14 años y miembro de la Asamblea del pueblo de Álvaro Obregón.

Sky-rockets blast off. Machetes gleam. Atenco is in town to head up a march from the Independence Angel to the Mexico City Zocalo. More than a thousand people join in. Chants ring out: Atenco lives! The struggle continues!

The march brings two days of activities to a close –– activities organized by the Peoples’ Front in Defense of the Land (FPDT) to mark the brutal repression of May 3 – 4, 2006, in San Salvador Atenco and Texcoco, where a struggle in support of local flower vendors was in full swing. The aim of the police terror, incited by the news media, was to punish campesinos who had succeeded in stopping the most important project of the Vicente Fox administration in 2002 ––an airport that would have robbed them of their lands.

Just a few days before, in a visit to the town of Atenco, Subcomandante Marcos of the EZLN had said: “We’ve come to recognize you as our older brothers because you’ve shown us how to defy the powerful, confront them, and with our own hands, defend what they want to take from us: land, liberty and life. This noble land of Atenco has much to teach, not only to us as Zaptatistas, but to all people in struggle.”

La represión del Estado mexicano criminaliza la protesta social en Chiapas

• Incomunicación, Privaciones Arbitrarias de la Libertad, Tortura y Tratos Crueles Inhumanos y Degradantes hacia al menos 24 personas detenidas

• 18 docentes de la CNTE trasladadas injustificadamente al Penal de Máxima Seguridad en Tepic, Nayarit

• Niñas, niños, mujeres y personas mayores afectadas por gases lacrimógenos ante el uso desproporcionado de la fuerza policiaca

El Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas (Frayba) documentó violaciones a derechos humanos consistentes en: Uso Desproporcionado de la Fuerza Pública, Privaciones Arbitrarias de la Libertad, Tortura y Tratos Crueles Inhumanos y Degradantes que conforman un patrón de represión y criminalización de la protesta social. Hechos cometidos en San Cristóbal de Las Casas y Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, durante los operativos de desalojo a las manifestaciones convocadas por la Sección VII de la Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores del Estado de Chiapas (CNTE) y el Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE). Acciones perpetradas por elementos de la Policía Federal, la Gendarmería y la Policía estatal quienes utilizaron de manera indiscriminada e injustificada gases lacrimógenos y balas de goma dañando la salud de quienes se manifestaban en la jornada del 15 de abril de 2016, de 10:00 a 14:00 horas aproximadamente. Además lesionaron físicamente a la población que pasaba o estaba en el lugar de la represión, incluyendo niñas, niños, mujeres y personas mayores de edad.

REPRESION Y DESPOJO POR PARTE DEL GOBIERNO DE LA CIUDAD DE MEXICO Y JEFATURA DELEGACIONAL EN CUAUHTEMOC.

Los días 31 de marzo por la noche y madrugada del 1o. de abril del 2016, llegaron al EJE UNO NORTE/TEPITO, 500 granaderos y con ellos un equipo de asalto portando metralletas, despojándonos a 120 familias comerciantes de nuestra fuente de trabajo. El operativo se ejecutó en las estaciones del metro Garibaldi-Lagunilla, Lagunilla y Tepito, cercando con entarimados diez metros a la redonda en acera sur, y en lado norte más de 20 metros. Cuando nos sentamos en nuestros espacios de trabajo para impedir pacíficamente la infamia de que estábamos siendo objeto, los granaderos nos obligaron a levantar golpeando con los escudos y amenazando los funcionarios JOSE FRANCISCO ACEVEDO GARCIA, SUBSECRETARIO DE PROGRAMAS DELEGACIONALES y HORACIO ROBLES OJEDA, DIRECTOR GENERAL DE GOBIERNO que comandaban el operativo. Metieron maquinaria roto-martillo para levantar el concreto, cortando una parte de los techos del corredor comercial.

Por la resistencia a la represión, desprecio y despojo de que fuimos objeto, se estableció una MESA DE TRABAJO con el gobierno capitalino. Se informó que el operativo continuaría de abril a agosto porque se pretende tener una zona comercial sustentable, segura con movilidad y moderna. Mediante un procedimiento burocrático se promete reubicación en lugares cercanos.

Nosotros les manifestamos a los funcionarios que continuaríamos con la resistencia civil y pacífica para lograr se respete nuestro derecho al trabajo digno como lo hemos hechos durante años, desde nuestro abuelos. No aceptamos la imposición porque se deja sin sustento a más de 500 NIÑAS, NIÑOS, JOVENES Y ANCIANOS QUE DEPENDE DE CADA LUGAR DE TRABAJO.

Marcelo Ebrard intento en 2007 , despojarnos y desalojar a más de 20 mil familias del barrio, con la intención de dejarlo a los grandes emporios financieros y comerciales como Wal-Mart, Mitsubishi, Palacio de Hierro, Martí, HSBC.., y demás. Pero la resistencia del barrio lo venció. Hacemos responsable de cualquier agresión al gobierno capitalino, ante la decisión de los comerciantes de organizarnos de manera autónoma e independiente.

The National Indigenous Congress (CNI) declares itself in maximum alert following the cowardly betrayal of the indigenous Ñatho community of San Francisco Xochicuautla, municipality of Lerma in the State of Mexico, in order to implement the highway project Toluca Naucalpan, as well as after the assault on community police in Ostula. We call upon all peoples, organizations, and individuals in solidarity to be attentive and to heed the call made by the community of Xochicuautla.

We denounce that:

On Monday, April 11, at 9am, over 1000 state police from the State Commission for Citizen Security (CES) and the Action and Reaction Forces (FAR) began to enter the community from three directions: through the Buenavista neighborhood; via Cuauhtémoc street to the “Lampeni” location; and to “Lapondishi,” the site of the Encampment for Peace and Dignified Resistance, which was then destroyed by the police forces.

Agentes del INM torturan hasta a mexicanos para frenar migrantes

Ciudad de México.- Agentes del Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) están involucrados en la detención de mexicanos, a quienes, por provenir de comunidades indígenas, intentan deportar a Centroamérica mediante amenazas y malos tratos, revela un reportaje publicado este día por The Guardian.
El diario británico menciona que esta ofensiva ocurre en medio del Plan Frontera Sur y de la estrategia impulsada desde el Gobierno de Estados Unidos para frenar el flujo de migrantes que atraviesan México para cruzar su frontera norte.

Los datos refieren que agentes migratorios han recurrido a amenazas, malos tratos e incluso tortura, contra mexicanos indígenas para obligarlos a decir que provienen de otros países de Centroamérica. Organizaciones sociales consultadas por el medio dijeron que lo anterior es para cubrir “cuotas”. (Continuar leyendo…)

Amy and Esther Juárez were edgy with excitement as they boarded the bus full of seasonal workers heading for a farm at the other end of Mexico from their home in the poverty-stricken southern state of Chiapas.

Although their brother Alberto,18, had made the same journey the previous year, it was the first time Amy, 24, and Esther, 15, had left the tiny indigenous community where they had grown up.

But about half-way there, immigration agents boarded the bus, and after checking all the passengers’ papers, ordered the three siblings to get off. (Continuar leyendo…)

Berta Cáceres wasn’t the first and, unfortunately, she hasn’t been the last. The world-renowned Lenca leader assassinated last month in Honduras for her opposition to government-backed megaprojects is one of an increasing litany of fallen fighters for indigenous and environmental rights in Honduras and around the globe.

The pattern of murder and criminalization of those who would defend land and the rights of rural people has only gotten more clear. We argue that this pattern responds to the land grab phenomenon that has intensified since the global financial and food crisis of 2007-2008. (Continuar leyendo…)

En 1982, después de dos décadas de guerra en Guatemala, la comunidad q’eqch’i de Sepur Zarco, en Izabal, fue sacudida por una violencia de proporciones inesperadas. Sus habitantes se habían organizado para defender tierras ancestrales que eran reclamadas por terratenientes. Para ello, a principios de ese año comenzaron un proceso legal en demanda del reconocimiento de sus títulos de propiedad, pero el proceso duró poco. La respuesta de los terratenientes frente al despojo frustrado fue salvaje. Se coordinaron con el ejército guatemalteco para secuestrar y desaparecer al grupo que encabezaba la defensa de la tierra. No conformes con haberse llevado a los hombres, los militares guatemaltecos arrasaron con la comunidad Sepur Zarco y violentaron sexualmente a muchas mujeres frente a sus familias.

Las que lograron huir a las montañas tuvieron que volver al paso del tiempo porque estaban viendo morir de hambre a sus hijas y a sus hijos. Cuando las familias sobrevivientes regresaron a Sepur Zarco en julio de 1982, los militares habían instalado un puesto de descanso y recreo para sus soldados sobre las cenizas de la comunidad, entre los municipios de El Estor (Izabal) y Panzós (Alta Verapaz). Y como era un puesto de descanso y recreo, los soldados giraron la instrucción de servicio para las mujeres de comunidades aledañas. Como resultado, ellas padecieron seis años de explotación sexual y laboral.
