La Comisión de Coordinación y seguimiento del Concejo Indígena de Gobierno hemos recibido un primer apoyo monetario de las bases de apoyo zapatistas, a través de la Comisión Sexta del EZLN, cuyo destino, nos piden, sea a las comunidades, barrios, naciones, tribus y pueblos originarios afectados por los ciclones, huracanes y temblores en Chiapas, Oaxaca, Puebla, Guerrero, Morelos, Estado de México, Veracruz y la Ciudad de México.

Para esto, el CNI y el CIG se están organizando ya para contactar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas originarias que sufren los estragos de estas catástrofes naturales, y para hacer llegar la ayuda recabada en nuestros propios centros de acopio, y para formar un fondo de reconstrucción que permita a las familias afectadas reparar o levantar de nuevo sus hogares.

Los centros de apoyo del CNI para pueblos originarios están ubicados en:

– Asamblea de Pueblos Indígenas en Defensa de la Tierra, ubicado en Fraccionamiento IVO Tercera calle, Juchitán Oaxaca.

– Radio Comunitaria Totopo, ubicada en el Barrio de los Pescadores, Calle Ferrocarril 105, esq. Avenida Insurgentes, séptima sección en Juchitán, Oaxaca.

– Centro de Derechos Humanos Digna Ochoa A. C. ubicado en Calle 1 de mayo No 73, entre Granaditas y Churubusco. Col. Evolución, Tonalá, Chiapas.

– Local de Unios, ubicado en Dr. Carmona y Valle # 32, colonia Doctores, Del. Cuauhtémoc, cd. de México. C.P. 06720

– Rincón Zapatista / Cafetería Comandanta Ramona, en la ciudad de México, ubicado en Zapotecos #7, Col. Obrera. Delegación Cuauhtémoc. Cd. de México. C.P. 06800.

Posteriormente daremos a conocer la cuenta bancaria para depósitos solidarios para el fondo de reconstrucción indígena.

En estos momentos, delegadas y delegados del CNI y del CIG están comunicándose con nuestras hermanas y hermanos para conocer de sus necesidades, y su disposición y capacidad para apoyar a quienes lo necesiten.

Within the framework of the National Working Assembly between the Indigenous Governing Council and the peoples who make up the National Indigenous Congress (CNI) to be held at CIDECI, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, October 12, 13, and 19, 2017, we here inform you that individuals, groups, collectives, and organizations of the Sixth, Chiapan indigenous communities and organizations who belong to the National Indigenous Congress, and the Zapatista bases of support and EZLN Sixth Commission have organized a series of events to greet the Indigenous Governing Council—the voice, ear, and heart of the originary peoples of the CNI—which will be held in the Southeastern Mexican state of Chiapas according to the following schedule:

Saturday, October 14, 2017: Community of Guadalupe Tepeyac, MAREZ (Zapatista Autonomous Municipality in Rebellion) of “San Pedro de Michoacán.” Time undetermined, as it depends on how much time it takes to get from CIDECI to Guadalupe Tepeyac. The CIG delegation will spend the night there.

Sunday, October 15, 2017: Caracol of Morelia, MAREZ of “17 de Noviembre,” Tzotz Choj zone.  Time undetermined, as it depends on how much time it takes to get from Guadalupe Tepeyac to the caracol of Morelia. The CIG delegation will spend the night there.

Monday, October 16, 2017: Caracol of Garrucha, MAREZ of “Francisco Gómez,” Selva Tzeltal zone. Time undetermined, as it depends on how much time it takes to get from the caracol of Morelia to the caracol of Garrucha. The CIG delegation will spend the night there.

Tuesday, October 17, 2017: Caracol of Roberto Barrios, MAREZ of “Trabajo,” northern zone of Chiapas. Time undetermined, as it depends on how much time it takes to get from the caracol of Garrucha to the caracol of Roberto Barrios. The CIG delegation will spend the night there.

Wednesday, October 18, 2017: Bad government municipality of Palenque, Chiapas. 10:00am. Travel to CIDECI in San Cristóbal de las Casas. The CIG will spend the night at CIDECI.

Thursday, October 19, 2017. Caracol of Oventik, MAREZ of “San Andrés Sakamch’en de los Pobres,” Highlands zone of Chiapas. Return to CIDECI where the work of the assembly concludes.

Entry is free. There will be no distribution of food provisions, t-shirts, buckets, cement, cisterns, aluminum sheeting, baseball caps, sandwiches, juice boxes, or promises.

The free media and the paid media should register at CIDECI in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, on October 11, 12, and 13, in order to have access to specially constructed areas where they can carry out their work under appropriate conditions (especially video and photography).

A los pueblos originarios de México,

A las y los concejales del Concejo Indígena de Gobierno.

Por acuerdo alcanzado en la Asamblea del Congreso Nacional Indígena (CNI) los días 26, 27 y 28 de mayo de 2017, en el sentido de realizar una nueva Asamblea Nacional en el mes de octubre en el estado de Chiapas, en territorio zapatista; los pueblos, naciones, tribus y barrios indígenas participantes en el CNI, llamamos a las comunidades originarias que somos, a nombrar delegados y delegadas para continuar el camino que nos hemos propuesto.

Considerando:

Que el despojo, la represión, la explotación y el desprecio en contra de nuestros pueblos no cesa y por el contrario se vuelve cada día más violento y descarado, y que en colectivo hemos decidido que nuestra respuesta será la organización, la resistencia y rebeldía.
Que el Concejo Indígena de Gobierno para México (CIG) se ha fortalecido con la representación de pueblos, naciones y tribus originarias de la mayor parte de la geografía indígena de nuestro país, y que se ha propuesto la construcción de una agenda anticapitalista en 9 grupos de trabajo, para llamar a todos los pueblos del campo y las ciudades a organizarnos para parar la guerra impuesta por los poderosos.
Que el CNI hemos venido hilando redes de apoyo y solidaridad por todo el país, que desde abajo van tejiendo el nuevo país  y el nuevo mundo que necesitamos.
Que llegó la hora del florecimiento de los pueblos y de que nuestra palabra, portadora del dolor de este país, de la dignidad y la vida de nuestros pueblos,a través del CIG, haga retemblar la tierra:

CONVOCAMOS A LA ASAMBLEA NACIONAL DE TRABAJO ENTRE EL CONCEJO INDÍGENA DE GOBIERNO Y LOS PUEBLOS QUE INTEGRAN EL CONGRESO NACIONAL INDÍGENA

A realizarse del 11 al 19 de Octubre de 2017 en territorio zapatista, Chiapas, bajo el siguiente orden:

11 de octubre: Llegada y registro de delegad@s de los pueblos integrantes del CNI, de concejal@s del CIG. En instalaciones del CIDECI-UniTierra, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.
12 de octubre: Asamblea inaugural y discusión en mesas de acuerdo a los 9 grupos de trabajo del CIG. En las instalaciones del CIDECI-UniTierra.
13 de octubre: Conclusión de las mesas de trabajo y trabajo en plenaria. En las instalaciones del CIDECI-UniTierra.
14 al 19 de octubre: Recorrido por varios puntos de Chiapas organizado por las comunidades zapatistas para saludar al CIG y la vocera.
19 de octubre: Conclusión de nuestra asamblea general.

Se solicita a las delegaciones confirmar de inmediato su asistencia a través del correo electrónico catedrajuanchavez@congresonacionalindigena.org

La sesión de los días 12 y 13 de octubre será exclusiva para delegad@s del CNI y concejal@s del CIG, pudiendo participar como observadores quienes sean expresamente invitad@s por la Comisión de Coordinación y Seguimiento del CIG.

Las sedes y fechas del recorrido del 14 al 19 de octubre, así como las reglas de asistencia para quienes no pertenezcan al CIG, al CNI, o sean sus invitados, serán definidas y dadas a conocer por la Comisión Sexta del EZLN.

En entrevista para Radio Zapatista, Gilberto López y Rivas comparte su opinión acerca de la iniciativa ya en curso del Congreso Nacional Indígena y del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional para la conformación del Concejo Indígena de Gobierno y el registro de su vocera para contender a las elecciones generales del próximo año. El antropólogo e investigador señala la relevancia de la propuesta para la democratización del país dada la legitimidad de una candidatura, colectiva e independiente, que represente a los pueblos de abajo y a la izquierda, desde sus propias formas de organización y buen gobierno, y bajo un programa anticapitalista.

Teniendo en cuenta la trayectoria de lucha de los pueblos que integran el CNI, procesos organizativos que reivindican su territorio y autonomía e hicieron suyas desde 1996 las demandas de los Acuerdos de San Andrés, la iniciativa también significaría evidenciar, una vez más, la situación de despojo, muerte y destrucción que vive la nación-pueblo de México como consecuencia del sistema capitalista neoliberal y la continuidad colonial que trae consigo.

Esperamos que este material sirva para sus reflexiones y la difusión de esta iniciativa de los pueblos de abajo frente a la Tormenta; el desastre y la guerra en que nos encontramos.

The Hour for Our Peoples to Flourish Has Arrived
Another Step Forward

Joint communique from the National Indigenous Congress and the Sixth Commission of the EZLN greeting the first members of the civil association, “The Hour for Our Peoples to Flourish Has Arrived.” This is a required legal step in order to register the candidacy of the spokesperson of the CIG [Indigenous Governing Council], the indigenous woman María de Jesús Patricio Martínez, for the presidency of the Mexican Republic 2018-2024.

Compañeras, compañeros, and compañeroas:

The originary barrios, tribes, nations, and peoples gathered in the National Indigenous Congress and the indigenous Zapatista communities salute this next step forward on the long road toward putting the name of our indigenous compañera María de Jesús Patricio Martínez on the electoral ballot in 2018 as candidate for the Mexican presidency.

This legal step has been possible thanks to the generous ear, respectful gaze, and friendly word of women and men who have earned, through their own history and efforts, a special place not only in Mexico and in the world but also, and above all, in the heart that is the color of the earth that we are.

These persons, along with others who are currently being contacted, form part of the Civil Association named “The Hour for Our Peoples to Flourish Has Arrived,” a necessary body formed in order to begin the path of registration for the candidate whom, with respect and affection, we call “Marichuy,” so that for the first time in this country’s history, a woman from an originary people, and indigenous woman, contends for the presidency of the Mexican Republic.

Because of their honesty and commitment, all of these people hold our absolute trust and admiration. We thus presented their names to the first General Assembly of the Indigenous Governing Council held August 5 and 6, 2017. The Indigenous Governing Council received with joy the support of these brothers and sisters who are recognized across broad sectors in Mexico and the world due to their work in the sciences, arts, and social struggle.

In the face of the current war, our wager is for a real peace, that is, with democracy, freedom, and justice. This is one further step on our path to find those who we want to hear to and who we want to call to organize themselves.

From the most forgotten corners of originary Mexico, for the Full Reconstitution of Our Peoples: Never Again a Mexico Without Us!
