Compañeras y compañeros comandantes, compañeras y compañeros bases de apoyo, milicianos, insurgentes todos.
Compañeras y compañeros de la sexta. Buenos días o buenas tardes o buenas noches a todas y todos según donde estén.
Compañeras y compañeros, hermanos y hermanas:
Por mi voz habla la voz del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional.
Por mi voz hablan el dolor y la rabia de cientos de miles de indígenas, hombres, mujeres, niños y ancianos del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional.
Estamos aquí con las y los compañer@s de la Realidad, para apoyar con toda nuestra digna rabia.
Los compañeros y compañeras de la Sexta tienen que entender algo: el EZLN no se puede meter así nomás por su gana en las comunidades y gobiernos autónomos. Porque nosotros como EZLN no es de palabra que decimos “respeto”, es que así es nuestra práctica. El EZLN como fuerza del pueblo sólo puede entrar en un asunto de las comunidades zapatistas si es que las autoridades autónomas lo piden. Esto lo hacemos así porque los militares, cualquiera que sea, siempre deben respetar y servir a los pueblos, a los civiles.

Compañera and compañero comandantes, compañera and compañero bases of support, militia, and insurgentes.
Compañeras and compañeros of the Sixth. Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening to all of you, wherever you may be.
Compañeras and compañeros, brothers and sisters:
Through my voice speaks the voice of the Zapatista Army for National Liberation.
Through my voice speaks the pain and rage of hundreds of thousands of indigenous people, men, women, children, and elders of the Zapatista Army for National Liberation.
We are here with the compañer@s of La Realidad, to support them with all of our dignified rage.
The compañeros and compañeras of the Sixth must understand something: the EZLN cannot involve itself in the affairs of the communities and the autonomous governments anytime it wants to. Because when we as the EZLN say “respect,” it isn’t just talk, it is our practice. The EZLN, as a force of the people, can only become involved in an issue in the Zapatista communities if the autonomous authorities request this. This is so because an army, of whatever kind, should always respect and serve the people, the civilians.
