Entrevista a miembros del Consejo Autónomo Regional de la Zona Costa de Chiapas, adherente de la otra campaña, quienes explican la criminazalición y persecución, por parte del Estado Mexicano, al Centro de Derechos Humanos Digna Ochoa, en particular a su director Nataniel Hernández Núñez. La entrevista fue realizada en el marco de una columna de radio que se realiza semanalmente, por internet, en Radio Teocelo (Veracruz) desde Barcelona, España. Interview to members of the Autonomous Regional Council of the Coastal Zone of Chiapas, adherents to the Other Campaign, who explain the criminalization and persecution by the Mexican state to the Digna Ochoa Human Rights Center, in particular its director Nataniel Hernández Núñez. Nuevo Juan de Grijalva es el proyecto más querido del gobierno de Chiapas y promovida como la primera ciudad rural sustentable del mundo y la solución a la pobreza. Sin embargo, desde que se inauguró sus habitantes han denunciado que no hay empleo, que los proyectos sustentables no funcionan, que los precios de la luz son exorbitantes, que la clínica no funciona y que, en general, se vive una situación desesperada. La ciudad fue construida a partir de un supuesto accidente natural que destruyó casas y tierras al desbordarse el río Grijalva. El gobierno de Chiapas se comprometió a indemnizar a la gente por los daños sufridos a sus tierras y hogares, pero nunca lo hizo. Ahora se construye una gran obra a mando de la Comisión Federal de Electricidad, que afectará extensiones importantes de tierras. Nuevamente, el gobierno se comprometió a indemnizar a los ejidatarios por la destrucción de sus tierras, pero nunca lo hizo. Sin otra alternativa, los habitantes de Nuevo Juan de Grijalva hicieron una manifestación. En vez de cumplir sus promesas, la respuesta del gobierno de Chiapas fue la detención ilegal de los manifestantes, en un desplante de arbitrariedad e injusticia característica de las formas autoritarias y arrogantes del gobernador Juan Sabines Guerrero. Después de una larga lucha y la intervención de organizaciones de derechos humanos e inclusive de las Naciones Unidas, los presos fueron liberados. En visita de la Red de Medios Libres de Chiapas, hablamos con algunos de ellos, quienes nos contaron su experiencia.
[:en]Nuevo Juan de Grijalva is the dearest project of the Chiapas Government and promoted as the first sustainable rural city of the world and the solution to poverty. However, since it was inaugurated its residents have denounced that there are no jobs, the “sustainable” projects don’t work, electricity rates are exorbitant, the clinic doesn’t work, and, in general, they live a desperate situation. The city was built after a supposedly natural accident that destroyed homes and lands when the Grijalva river burst its bank. The Chiapas government committed to compensate the people for the damages to their lands and homes, but it never did. Now a large work is underway by the Federal Electric Commission, which will affect large extensions of land. Once again, the government committed to idemnify the residents for the destruction of their lands, but it never did. Without other alternatives, the residents of Nuevo Juan de Grijalva organized a demonstration. Instead of complying with its promises, the government’s answer was the illegal detention of of the demonstrators, with an outburst of arbitrariness and injustice typical of the authoritarian and arrogant ways of the governor Juan Sabines Guerrero. After a long struggle and the intervention of human rights organizations and even the United Nations, the prisoners were freed. In a visit with the Free Media Network of Chiapas, we spoke with some of them, who shared with us their experience.
