A la campaña de Lucha Mundial por la Libertad de Patishtán y Sántiz López:

“El color de las cárceles es la marca en el cuerpo del lugar que se ocupó en la historia”, dice la compañera Rita Laura Segato.

Los de arriba están criminalizando el lugar que ocupan las gentes del color de la tierra. Esa es la justicia del Estado, del mal gobierno. Una justicia que encarcela a los hijos de la Pachamama, a los que la defienden y la cuidan, pero deja el libertad a los que la destruyen para usarla como mercancía.

La campaña internacional por la libertad de Patishtán y Sántiz López está mostrando las verdaderas razones por las que están en prisión. Cuando los de abajo se ponen de pie, cuando los pobres del mundo dicen su palabra y se organizan, son sistemáticamente acusados de terroristas y violentos, y contra ellos se ponen en marcha campañas de difamación y se les echan encima los aparatos represivos.

Cuando los de arriba se roban los bienes públicos, cuando los banqueros se apropian de los dineros y del trabajo de todos, son premiados con cargos en los malos gobiernos y se usan los dineros de los Estados para salvar sus negocios sucios.

No son errores ni desviaciones, sino el verdadero sentido de la justicia de los Estados: proteger a los de arriba y condenar a los de abajo. En este mundo existen dos justicias: la de los gobiernos y la de los pueblos. La primera la ejecutan señores blancos y ricos protegidos por guardias armados, que se encierran en palacios para tomar decisiones. La segunda es la justicia comunitaria que toma sus decisiones en las asambleas de la gente común, que es la gente del color de la tierra, donde todos y todas pueden debatir porque no hacen falta abogados ni especialistas para distinguir el bien del mal.

Son dos justicias para dos mundos opuestos. Algún día nuestra justicia podrá juzgar a los de arriba; y ese día los de arriba serán condenados a vivir de su trabajo, a cuidar de los bienes comunes. Serán condenados a vivir como vivimos el 99% de los seres humanos.

Ese día, que no está lejos, recordaremos a los hermanos Patishtán y Sántiz López como dos de los muchos parteros y parteras que hicieron posible el nacimiento de un mundo nuevo.

Those from above are criminalizing the place occupied by the people who are the color of the earth. That is the justice of the State and the bad government. A “justice” that imprisons the children of Pachamama and those who defend and care for her, but rewards with freedom those who destroy her in order to turn her into a commodity.

The international campaign to free Patishtán and Sántiz López is revealing the true reasons behind their imprisonment. When those from below stand up, when the poor of the world speak out and organize, they are systematically labelled “terrorists” and “violent” and are turned into the targets of defamation campaigns, with all the machinery of repression thrown upon them.

When those from above steal public resources, when bankers appropriate the money and labor of everyone else, they are rewarded with positions in the bad governments and utilize state money to save their dirty businesses.

These are not errors or abnormalities, but rather the true notion of justice held by the State: To protect those from above and condemn those from below. In this world two forms of justice exist: One for the governments and one for the people. The former is implemented by rich, white men who are protected by armed guards, and who hide in palaces to make decisions. The latter is community justice that is decided in assemblies of common people–the people who are the color of the earth–whereby every can debate because neither lawyers nor experts are required to distinguish between good and bad.

They are two justices for two opposed worlds. One day our justice shall judge those from above; and on that day, they shall be condemned to live off their work, to care for the common good. They shall be condemned to live as we, the 99% of humanity, do.

That day, which is not far off, we will remember our brothers, Patishtán and Sántiz López, as two of the many midwives who made the birth of a new world possible.
