The Red Sexta Grietas del Norte invites you to the Sexta Encuentro in the U.S., “In, Against, and Beyond the Capitalist Hydra”, from where, we all know, the wheels of destruction churn towards every corner of the world.

Now more than ever it is necessary to organize collectively and, following the call of the EZLN, “to begin or continue our analysis and evaluation of the reality in which we live and to share with each other these analyses and evaluations as well as our subsequent proposals for coordinated action,” so that we may take action accordingly in our respective trincheras.

This call is for all the compañerxs who struggle and resist capitalist exploitation and patriarchal oppression within the U.S, especially to the adherents of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle and those who identify with the Zapatista struggle and thought, as well as with the peoples of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI).

The times we are living demand that we collectively understand the changes in contemporary capitalism as a whole and what they look like in our own contexts. We propose working towards recovering our histories, traditions, and understanding our past and current struggles so we can envision and create autonomies constructed from our respective and collective analyses.

The Encuentro’s purpose is to find each other, to share our pains, our ways of confronting this civilization of death, and build and strengthen our autonomies. It is to share the paths we can walk together against and beyond the Hydra and to work together in solidarity with the communities in struggle in Chiapas, in Mexico, and the world. Furthermore, it is to organize a resistance against the multi-headed capitalist Hydra that destroys Mother Earth and attacks Indigenous communities. Our aim is to facilitate the development of collective knowledges and responses, outside Western cartographies and calendars against the powers that seek to repress all communities of resistance and that displace millions of people worldwide.

The Encuentro will consist of a two day gathering in Oakland, California, on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8, 2020. It will consist of panels, dialogue circles, and conversatorios on key questions, including but not limited to the following:

Ocosingo, Chiapas. 2 de febrero. “Siéntanse contentos compañeros porque esto es alegría, esto es felicidad, porque este acontecimiento no pasa cada rato, no es del diario, es el tiempo que nos va marcando el proceso de nuestro caminar, que nos va enseñando lo que hay que hacer y cómo hay que hacer”, expresaron integrantes de la nueva Junta de Buen Gobierno (JBG), “Nuevo amanecer en resistencia y rebeldía por la vida y la humanidad”, del caracol zapatista número X inaugurado este 1 y 2 de febrero, de nombre: “Floreciendo la semilla rebelde”, ubicado en el poblado de Patria Nueva, municipio oficial de Ocosingo.

“Hoy nos tocó ser testigos de este acontecimiento. En otros lugares también algunos fueron testigos de otro acontecimiento igual como este. En otros lugares también se hará la apertura de otros nuevos caracoles; y así demostrar que cada vez, que cada día, aquí estamos, que existimos como ejercito zapatista”, afirmaron los rebeldes chiapanecos.

“Como bases del EZLN, estamos trabajando en la autonomía, y esto es la creación de caracoles como acontecerá en otros lugares y no solamente aquí. Todos los pueblos zapatistas estamos de fiesta, estamos contentos, estamos festejando este nacimiento. Aquí serán las oficinas donde los compañeros estarán trabajando durante los próximos tres años”, compartieron las y los indígenas alzados en armas en 1994.

“Aquí es como un nuevo matrimonio que se independiza de los padres, es difícil encontrar la nueva casa. Es difícil acostumbrarnos a una nueva casa cuando somos nosotros el matrimonio nuevo, que se independiza de sus padres, por eso faltan muchas cosas, falta la mesa, la silla, los trastes”, ejemplificó la nueva JBG, en su mensaje inaugural a las numerosas Bases de Apoyo Zapatistas, presentes en el nuevo caracol.

Este 30 y 31 de enero también se dio la inauguración del Caracol Zapatista número VIII, de nombre: “Resistencia y rebeldía de un nuevo horizonte”, cuya JBG es: “La luz que resplandece al mundo”, con sede en Dolores Hidalgo, también en el municipio oficial de Ocosingo Chiapas.

En las inauguraciones también participaron milicianas y milicianos, que marcharon durante el concurrido acontecimiento. De igual forma se llevaron a cabo actividades deportivas y durante la noche y día también se contó con la presencia de grupos musicales como ya es costumbre en las celebraciones de l@s zapatistas.

PRESENTES

Denunciamos un nuevo ataque en contra del ex comisariado de bienes comunales de la comunidad autónoma de San Lorenzo de Azqueltán, municipio de Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Jesús Manuel Aguilar Hernández, quien ha sido delegado del Congreso Nacional Indígena y defensor de los terrenos comunales, a manos de una persona al servicio del cacique llamado Favio Ernesto Flores Sánchez, alias “La Polla”, el pasado 10 de enero a las 18:15 horas, cuando nuestro compañero se encontraba dando de beber agua al ganado a un lado del río Azqueltán, en el paraje conocido como El Tecolote, cuando recibió a quemarropa 8 disparos de arma calibre 38 automática, sin que resultara herido al cubrirse tras un tronco grueso.

El agresor, de nombre Manuel de Jesús Aguilar Herrera, se dedica a ejercer la violencia por órdenes de “La Polla”, para despojar de las tierras a los comuneros y comuneras. Tras realizar el ataque, esta persona se dió a la fuga en una motocicleta en dirección a la localidad de Izolta.

No es la primera vez que atenta contra la vida de comuneros para defender a los ricos violentos que se pretenden quedar con nuestra tierra, sino que ha intentado atropellar a mujeres, ha golpeado y amenazado a personas de la tercera edad y amenazado de muerte a compañeros en diferentes momentos, lo que consta en diversas denuncias penales que hemos interpuesto en su contra, sin que los gobiernos hagan nada.

Favio Ernesto Flores Sánchez y sus grupos de choque, con armas, continúan actuando en la región con absoluta impunidad, por lo que la organización de nuestra resistencia en defensa del territorio ancestral no se detendrá, sino que continuaremos sembrando la dignidad para nuestros hijos y nietos.

Hacemos responsables a Favio Flores, alias “La Polla”, a Manuel de Jesús Aguilar Herrera y al gobierno municipal de la integridad de nuestras autoridades y comuneros. Seguiremos exigiendo justicia para nuestra gente y nuestra comunidad.

En este medio, damos a conocer y aclarar de una información que recibió los adherentes de una fuente confiable en relación al acompañamiento de san Sebastián Bachajón.

En san Sebastián, los que se adhirieron a la sexta en 2006 y 2007, los que participaron desde un principio cuando levantamos la voz contra los megaproyectos, algunos ya no participan con nosotros por las represalias y amenazas del estado, luego de que en 2011 fueran detenidos 117 de nuestros compañeros y autoridades autónomas.

A 527 años del inicio de la resistencia y rebeldía de los pueblos originarios contra la invasión colonial, la guerra del sistema capitalista patriarcal y sus megaproyectos siguen trayendo muerte y destrucción en todo el mundo y ponen en riesgo a todas las formas de vida en el planeta tierra.

Particularmente en México, con la mentira de querer erradicar la pobreza del sur del país, el gobierno de López Obrador en pleno contubernio con las mafias empresariales, la delincuencia organizada y los partidos políticos de todos los colores, retoma el viejo sueño de Porfirio Díaz y los planes de todos los gobiernos neoliberales desde Salinas de Gortari, ofreciendo el territorio nacional al capital global.

Les invitamos a que sea una movilización dislocada y contundente, en todo el país, contra los megaproyectos de muerte, de carácter anticapitalista y antipatriarcal, buscando que todos los sectores participen, haciendo del paliacate un símbolo común y que en todos los espacios mostremos el arte, la música, la creatividad de abajo.

Denunciemos que con la implementación de los megaproyectos como el mal llamado Tren Maya, la Refinería Dos Bocas, el Corredor Inter-Oceánico del Istmo, el proyecto Integral Morelos, el Nuevo Aeropuerto y sus obras asociadas como la Autopista México-Tuxpan, así como un monstruoso conjunto de proyectos de depredación ambiental, territorial y social con minería, hidroeléctricas, agroindustriales, corredores industriales, gasoductos, oleoductos, fracking, parques eólicos, paneles solares empresariales a gran escala, etc. que forman parte de la infraestructura que se pretende imponer para el saqueo de los bienes naturales (petróleo, minerales, bosques, selvas, viento, ríos, lagos y mares) y la sobreexplotación de mano de obra de nuestros pueblos de México y Latinoamérica para entregar nuestros territorios al gran capital transnacional, destruyendo la biodiversidad y agudizando la catástrofe del calentamiento global”, quedando claro que esta propuesta del estado de carácter desarrollista neoliberal no abonará de ninguna manera a la solución de los problemas de las mexicanas y los mexicanos que son el desempleo, la pobreza y la violencia, entre otros.

 En seguimiento a las discusiones emanadas de distintos encuentros y reuniones nacionales e internacionales, y tomando en cuenta que los próximos 6, 7 y 8 de septiembre, en Juchitán, Oaxaca, se llevará a cabo la Asamblea “El Istmo es Nuestro”; invitamos a los pueblos, redes, organizaciones, adherentes a la sexta, individuos y a tod@s aquellos que luchan y se organizan contra el patriarcado y el capitalismo en la CDMX y el área Metropolitana, a encontrarnos el próximo sábado 31 de agosto a partir de las 10:00 hrs. en el auditorio Francisco Breña Alvirez del Sindicato Mexicano de Electricistas, ubicado en Calle Maestro Antonio Caso #45, Col. Tabacalera, 06030, Ciudad de México.

Nobody knows for sure how it all started. Not even the Tercios Compas [Zapatista media], who took up the task of reconstructing the sequence of events, could pinpoint the exact moment and event in which the story I’m about to tell you began.

According to one version, SubGaleano is responsible for everything. Others say SubGaleano only started it and it was Subcomandante Insurgente Moisés who took it to completion.

See, what happened was that in one of his texts, SubGaleano mentioned a February 2011 program in which the journalist Carmen Aristegui asked if then-president Felipe Calderón Hinojosa was an alcoholic, and added that the nation should be informed about the health of the president. She was fired in retaliation. Up to that point in the story there is no disagreement—and you can confirm that’s what happened by referring to news articles from that time.

The problem really begins when SubGaleano added something like, “Madness, as pointed out by a misunderstood sage of the human soul, is like gravity: all it takes is a little push. To hold Power unlawfully is just that irresistible push that all those above long for, and it begins with three simple words, “I rule here.” If you think anyone in the media is going to question whether the current president is lacking in any of his mental faculties (let’s be clear, he didn’t say “crazy”), don’t hold your breath, because nobody will dare to do so.”

We who subscribe this letter – workers in the social sciences, the arts and the humanities, activists and feminists – we come together to express our genuine concern for what is happening in Mexico and specifically for what is happening in Chiapas and in the indigenous regions where the Zapatistas, members of the original people, tribes and nations that are part of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI) live.

The incarnate struggle of resistance against capitalism, machismo and patriarchy of the Zapatistas and the National Indigenous Congress (CNI) have inspired and continues to inspire us. Their struggle is like a mirror where we can reflect, that encourages us to walk in an incarnated way, in our own places, times and ways, in our own struggles for autonomy and against all those dominations, violences, dispossessions, discriminations and exploitations that manifest in a thousand forms in indigenous and not indigenous territories.

We are actively awaiting and walking in many places and sharing what we have (un)learned looking at your 25 and 500 years of collective resistances.

We add our voice to those who affirm that the current Mexican government’s strategy is one strategy of war more than for security and we agree with the criticisms against ongoing Mexican nationalist development projects for the Mayan region and the Tehuantepec Isthmus (Istmo de Tehuantepec). We are outraged by the murder of women, young people; and indigenous and black communities’ leaders in México and all over Abya Yala.

All of this not only worries us, but also encourages us to carry out different actions in different spaces as our incarnate support to the Jornadas por la Vida contra la Guerra (Campaign for Life and against the War).

That is why we shout with a strong collective voice: !The war against the Zapatistas, the CNI members and the indigenous and black peoples of all over Abya Yala, must stop now!
