Desde Barcelona: Video para Alberto Patishtán y Francisco Sántiz López
El pasado 19 de mayo, en el marco de las “Fiestas de la Primavera” del Ateneu l’ Harmonia de Sant Andreu de Palomar, y convocadas por la Semana Internacional de Lucha “A tumbar las paredes del Calabozo: Libertad para Alberto Patishtán y Francisco Sántiz López”. Unos cuantos colectivos, sumamos nuestras fuerzas y nuestro trabajo para hacer un video solidario.
El pueblo de Sant Andreu, nos solidarizamos y mandamos todo nuestro apoyo a los presos políticos Alberto Patishtán y Francisco Sántiz y exigimos su inmediata liberación y la reparación del daño a ellos, a sus familias y a sus comunidades por parte de las autoridades. También mandamos todo nuestro apoyo y solidaridad a las comunidades zapatistas en resistencia y las bases de apoyo del EZLN.

This past May 19th, as part of the “Spring Celebrations” of Ateneu l’ Harmonia de Sant Andreu de Palomar, and organized as part of the “Week of Worldwide Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López: bringing down the prison walls”. Several collectives joined forces and our work to create a solidarity video.
The people of Sant Andreu, are in solidarity and send all of our support to the political prisoners Alberto Patishtán y Francisco Sántiz and we demand their immediate liberation. We also send our support and solidarity to the Zapatista communities in resistance and the bases of support of the EZLN.

Reciban un abrazo enorme desde El Barrio, Nueva York. Aquí compartimos con ustedes el séptimo y último informe sobre la “Semana de Lucha Mundial por la Libertad de Patishtán y Sántiz López: A Tumbar las Paredes del Calabozo,” en el día final de dicha semana.
Informamos que hemos recibido, y difundemos por este medio, un video mensaje de parte de nuestr@s compas del Movimiento Sin Tierra (MST) de Brasil, como parte de las acciones mundiales realizadas durante la Semana de Lucha Mundial. En este video, Rafael, un representante del MST, nos explica las razones porque ell@s se solidarizan con los dos presos políticos chiapanecos y con la lucha nacional e internacional por su liberación. Dice el compañero brasileño que respeto al caso de Alberto, para tener una democracia verdadera es necesario formentar la educación y formación popular, y por tanto, defender a las personas que las promueven. Castigar a estas personas sería un grave error en su contra y un acto irracionable e injusto. Además añade que el hecho de que Alberto ya lleva 12 años es evidencia de que es muy “capaz” y en sí ha hecho un “trabajo bueno” para su pueblo y en contra de los intereses de los capitalistas y sus lacayos políticos. Sobre Francisco, nuestro compa del MST indica que su movimiento tiene una “relación de admiración y respeto” a l@s Zapatistas. Sugiere, además, que el encarcelamiento injusto y arbitrario se puede considerar un crimen contra la población, contra la democracia. Existe mucha verdad en sus palabras, y por eso nos da gusto poder compartir con ustedes el videomensaje en su totalidad aquí en este enlace:
Esta particular semana de lucha se termina hoy, pero aun nos queda mucho trabajo por hacer, ya que siguen encarcelados injustamente nuestros dos presos.
Siguen sus presencias, sus cuerpos, metidos en unos calabozos por crimenes que no cometieron, mientras que los que sí hacen daño a nuestros pueblos, a nuestra Madre Tierra, siguen impunes, gozando las riquezas que nos han despojado violentamente.
Nos da asco. Nos da coraje. Nos da rabia. Nos da ganas de tumbar las paredes que los encierran.
Los vemos como presos y hermanos nuestros.
Y además, se nos ocurre que Alberto y Francisco han de tener un sueño muy parecido al de nosotr@s, como migrantes, ya que el verdadero “sueño americano” del migrante es poder estar de regreso con su familia y en su pueblo.
Compartimos ese mismo sueño, esa misma añoranza, y lo haremos realidad muy pronto.
Esperamos que estas acciones mundiales nos hayan dado a tod@s, y en especial a Francisco, Alberto y sus pueblos, más ánimo, más ganas, y más fuerza para seguir luchando por esa libertad que hemos buscado.

Como siempre les pedimos que divulguen los vídeos entre todos sus contactos y redes sociales, para que la verdad y esperanza en estos mensajes, igual que la demanda ya global e histórica por la liberación de Alberto y Francisco, puedan llegar a todos los rincones del mundo.
La presión y exigencia de la libertad de Alberto Patishtán y Francisco Sántiz López ya tiene alcance mundial. Hoy más que nunca hay que mantenerla viva.

Receive an enormous embrace from El Barrio, Nueva York. Today being the closing day, here we share with you the seventh and final update on the “Week of Worldwide Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López: Bringing Down the Prison Walls.”
We have received, and will circulate herein, a new video message from our compas of the Landless Workers Movement (Movimento Sem Terra) of Brazil, as part of the global actions executed during the Week of Worldwide Action. In this video, Rafael, a representative of MST, explains to us the reasons behind their support and solidarity for the two political prisoners of Chiapas and the national and international struggle for their liberation. Our Brazilian comrade states that with regards to Alberto’s case, popular education and learning must be nourished in order to have real democracy, and therefore, those who do so must be defended. Punishing educators would constitute a grave error against this goal and represent an irrational and unjust act. He adds, moreover, that the fact that Alberto has already spent 12 years in prison speaks to his abilities and demonstrates that he has indeed done “excellent work” for his people and against the interests of the capitalists and their political lackeys. Concerning Francisco, our compa from the MST states that his movement has a “relationship of admiration and respect” for the Zapatistas. He goes on to suggest that unjust and arbitrary incarceration can be regarded as a crime against the population and democracy. There exists much truth in his words and for this reason, we are happy to be able to share with you the full message here:
Although this particular week of struggle ends today, there still remains much work to be done, as our two prisoners remain unjustly imprisoned.
Their physical bodies remain stuck in disgusting cells for crimes that they did not commit, while those who do harm to our people and our Mother Earth, continue to enjoy impunity and the wealth that they have robbed violently from us.
It sickens us. It enrages us. It causes us agony. It fills us full of emotion and strength to tear down the walls that confine them.
We view them as our prisoners, our brothers.
And it has occurred to us that Alberto and Francisco’s dreams are very similar to our own, as migrants. The true “American dream” of any immigrant is being able to be back in their community with their family.
We share this same dream, this same yearning, and we shall soon make them reality.
It is our hope that these global actions have given all of us, and in particular, Francisco, Alberto, and their people, more energy, more determination and strength to continue fighting for that freedom that we have always sought.
