El 19 de abril de 2011, se cumplió un año de la muerte de Tatiana Trujillo Rodríguez, asesinada por su esposo Elmar Darinel Díaz Solórzano, ex diputado federal, candidato del PRI a la diputación local en el 2010, quien tras cometer el delito se dio a la fuga. Tres meses después fue detenido por el delito de homicidio calificado. Sin embargo, hasta ahora no ha sido sentenciado. El 10 de marzo, la justicia federal le concedió un amparo al acusado, quien se teme que pronto será liberado. En conferencia de prensa en el Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas, la familia de Tatiana Trujillo denuncia la impunidad y la injusticia.

April 19, 2011, was the one-year aniversary of the death of Tatiana Trujillo Rodríguez, murdered by her hustand Elmar Darinel Díaz Solórzano, former federal deputy and PRI candidate as local deputy in 2010, who fled after committing the crime. Three months later he was detained for qualified homicide. However, he has still not been sentenced. On March 10, the federal court granted him an “amparo”, and he is likely to be released soon. In a press conference at the Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas Human Rights Center, Tatiana’s family denounced the impunity and injustice.

La presente es una nueva y urgente convocatoria de parte de Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio a realizar los:
“5 Días MÁS de Acción Mundial por los 5 de Bachajón Del 24 al 28 de abril de este año.
Reciban abrazos y saludos cariñosos de parte de Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio, La Otra Campaña Nueva York. Queremos compartir con tod@s ustedes una propuesta urgente de parte del pueblo humilde y sencillo migrante de El Barrio, Nueva York.
Ello porque ahora, al enterarnos de las nuevas noticias, hoy día nos encontramos más que nunca con el corazón latiendo de rabia y los pulmones respirando ganas de luchar.
Durante la mañana del viernes, 8 de abril 2011, nuestr@s compas del ejido de San Sebastián Bachajón recuperaron de nuevo la caseta de cobro en las tierras que les pertenecen, que ellos mismos habían instalado, y que marca la entrada de las cascadas Agua Azul en el territorio del ejido de Bachajón. Esta acción digna y rebelde, la cual constituyó otro paso adelante en el proceso de construir la autonomía justa para los pueblos indígenas, fue para nosotros una gran inspiración.
Al siguiente día, 9 de abril, más de 800 agentes de fuerzas militares y policiacas, mandados por el presidente panista represor Felipe Calderón y el gobernador perredista represor Juan Sabines Guerrero, llegaron al sitio de la caseta de cobro y desalojaron violentamente a l@s compas de la caseta. Enseguida de este acto represivo por parte del mal gobierno, tres compas desaparecieron.
Una vez más se mostró lo que ya hemos sabido muy bien desde hace mucho tiempo: Que el mal gobierno de muchas caras -ya sea de panista, priista, perredista, o pvemista- tiene sólo un eje sobre el cual gira, el cual se basa en brutalidad, violencia, y represión. Esto es otro ejemplo que nos enseña muy claramente el hecho de que, a los pueblos
humildes y sencillos que se organizan de manera autónoma por la dignidad y contra el desplazamiento, el mal gobierno en todas sus caras siempre responde con agresión e injusticia.
Además, recientemente el mal gobierno de Juan Sabines Guerrero actuó por venganza contra nuestros 5 compañeros -Jerónimo Guzmán Méndez, Domingo Pérez Álvaro, Domingo García Gómez, Juan Aguilar Guzmán y Mariano Demeza Silvano- quienes permanecen como presos políticos, rehenes del Estado, y en horribles condiciones.
En una carta muy sentida y profunda que nos enviaron ellos hace pocos días, nos cuentan de su realidad cotidiana. Su palabra poderosa y digna nos ha tocado el corazón, dándonos aún más ánimo para seguir luchando por su liberación. Nos dicen nuestros compañeros que están “cansados del maltrato. Porque nos dan la comida una sola vez al día, escasos de agua y hemos enfermado por las malas comidas que nos dan y no proporcionan ningún medicamento. Y a la hora de nuestras visitas familiares no dejan pasar los alimentos que ellos nos traen y que los revisan haciéndole quitar las ropas. Por esta razón desde este reclusorio hacemos esta denuncia pública que nos sigan apoyando y ánimo de la lucha y nosotros estamos en pie a la lucha para defender nuestras tierras para nuestros futuros mas no para el gobierno. Hasta la victoria siempre.”
Además de este horrible maltrato, están siendo forzados a hacer trabajos “denigrantes” día tras día. También enfrentan amenazas de ser metidos en una celda de castigo si no obedecen los mandatos del gobernador estatal represor Juan Sabines Guerrero.
Es claro que todos estos actos de agresión fueron provocados por la resistencia organizada que esta haciendo el pueblo de Bachajón y por la presión nacional e internacional que junt@s realizamos a través de nuestras acciones solidarias durante el “Dia Mundial por la Liberacion de los Presos Politicos de San Sebastián Bachajón” y de las cuales formaron parte de la campaña “5 Días de Acción Mundial por los 5 de Bachajón.” Como nos explican l@s ejidatari@s de Bachajón, pues, como dicen ellos: “Este mal gobierno ha tomado otras represalias para seguir presionándonos a entregar nuestras tierras y sus recursos.” Reaccionando a todo el movimiento que se está haciendo alrededor del mundo por los 5 de Bachajón, el mal gobierno ha respondido en su forma típica: con violencia.
Además, acorde con eso, en una carta recién escrita por la Organización Mundial Contra La Tortura (OMCT) de Ginebra, Suiza, informan que “Se teme que las amenazas y los actos de hostigamiento [hacia los presos políticos] se deban a las acciones de solidaridad que se están realizando a favor de los detenidos, en particular la campaña “5 Días de Acción Mundial por los 5 de Bachajón” realizada entre el 1° y el 5 de abril de 2011.”
Esto es un síntoma fatal, un síntoma de desesperación, lo cual nos indica que los de arriba han tenido que buscar más formas de defenderse a toda costa contra su peor enemigo: un pueblo organizado.
A pesar de las numerosas amenazas y hostigamiento, a pesar de las manadas de camiones y helicópteros antimotines, las hermanas y los hermanos de San Sebastián Bachajón no se rinden, sino que avanzan en su lucha.
Por ello, nosotros tampoco podemos rendirnos. No deberemos descansar hasta que nuestros 5 hermanos estén totalmente libres y hasta que se respeten las demandas justas de la comunidad de Bachajón.
Por tal razón proponemos lo siguiente:
1) Que estemos tod@s muy al pendiente y vigilantes de lo que suceda. Que estemos list@s y dispuest@s a realizar inmediatamente acciones de emergencia por si les ocurra alguna forma de violencia por parte del mal gobierno a l@s ejidatari@s durante las siguientes semanas.
2) Que unamos nuestras fuerzas nuevamente para llevar a cabo “5 Días MÁS de Acción Mundial por los 5 de Bachajón” para seguir luchando junt@spor la liberación inmediata de los 5 presos políticos de San Sebastián Bachajón, adherentes de La Otra Campaña, y en apoyo de la lucha por la dignidad y autonomía que están llevando a cabo l@s ejidatari@s de Bachajón.
Con nuestras acciones de solidaridad, junt@s logramos hacer eco de la historia verdadera del pueblo de Bachajón y de su digna lucha por defender sus tierras y los recursos naturales de la rapacidad de las corporaciones multinacionales y sus lacayos políticos. Ambos buscan despojar a l@s ejidatari@s de Bachajón de la caseta de cobro para apoderarse de la riqueza natural que existe en el territorio del ejido. Cada vez que nos juntamos a denunciar y a retar al mal gobierno y al neoliberalismo que hacen todo esto para ganar más riquezas, nosotros abrimos grietas inalterables en las paredes del calabozo ese que encarcela a nuestros 5 hermanos. Ahora más que nunca, hay que seguir poniéndole presión para que aquellas grietas se vuelvan polvo.
Una vez más, l@s invitamos a que cada un@, en cualquier parte del planeta, a su manera, realice acciones para exigirle al gobernador represor perredista Juan Sabines Guerrero que libere inmediatamente a cada uno de los cinco presos políticos.
Proponemos que todos junt@s unamos nuestras fuerzas organizando acciones -desde su localidad y con sus diferentes formas de lucha- como manifestaciones, marchas, actos callejeros informativos, repartición de volantes, foros públicos, teatro, concentraciones informativas y cualquier otra actividad para realizar los:
“5 Días MÁS de Acción Mundial por los 5 de Bachajón” del 24 al 28 de abril, respectivamente.

The following is a new and urgent convocation on behalf of Movement for Justice in El Barrio to the:
“5 MORE Days of Worldwide Action for the Bachajón 5”
From April 24th to the 28th.
Receive affectionate embraces and greetings from Movement for Justice in El Barrio, The Other Campaign New York. We want to share with all of you an urgent proposal on behalf of the humble and simple migrant community of El Barrio, New York.
Upon learning the latest news, today we find ourselves more than ever with our hearts beating with rage and our lungs breathing the will to fight back.
During the morning of Friday, April 8, 2011, our compas from the ejido of San Sebastián Bachajón once again recovered control of the tollbooth – which they themselves had installed – that marks the entrance to the Agua Azul waterfalls in the territory of the Bachajón ejido. This dignified and rebellious action, which constituted another step forward in the process of building justice and autonomy for indigenous peoples, truly inspired us.
On the following day, April 9, over 800 police and military agents, sent by the repressive PAN president Felipe Calderón and the repressive PRD governor Juan Sabines Guerrero, arrived at the location of the tollbooth and violently displaced the ejidatari@s. Shortly after this act of repression by the bad government, three compas disappeared.
This reaffirmed, once again, what we have already known for quite some time now: That the bad government with its many faces – be they PAN, PRI, PRD, or PVEM – has only one modus operandi, which is rooted in brutality, violence, and repression. It is another example that shows us very clearly the fact that the bad government, in all its faces, always responds with aggression and injustice to humble and simple peoples who organize themselves autonomously for dignity and against displacement.
Recently, moreover, the bad government of Juan Sabines Guerrero has acted out vengeance towards our 5 compañeros – Jerónimo Guzmán Méndez, Domingo Pérez Álvaro, Domingo García Gómez, Juan Aguilar Guzmán y Mariano Demeza Silvano – who remain political prisoners, hostages of the State, and in horrible conditions.
In a profound and heartfelt letter that they sent us a few days ago, they tell us a bit about their daily life. Their powerful and dignified words have touched our heart, giving us more energy to continue fighting for their liberation. Our compañeros inform us that they are
“tired of the mistreatment. They only give us food and scarce amounts of water once a day, and we have gotten sick due to the horrible food that they give us. They do not provide any medication. And when our relatives visit us, they deny us the food that they have brought for us, and they force them to remove their clothing in order to be searched. For this reason, from this prison, we make public our denouncement and hope that you all continue to support us. Don’t give up the fight! We too are in the struggle to defend our lands so that our futures will no longer belong to the government. Until victory, always!”
In addition to this horrible mistreatment, day after day, they are forced to do “denigrating” work. And if they do not obey the orders of the repressive governor Juan Sabines Guerrero, they receive threats of additional confinement.
It is clear that all of these acts of aggression were provoked by the organized resistance of the people of Bachajón and by the national and international pressure that we generated via our solidarity actions during the “Worldwide Day of Action for the Liberation of the Political Prisoners of San Sebastian Bachajón and “5 Days of Worldwide Action for the Bachajón 5.” As the ejidatari@s of Bachajón explain: “This bad government has taken other reprisals to continue pressuring us into handing over our lands and their resources.” Responding to all of the movement that is spreading across the world for the Bachajón 5, the bad government has reacted in typical fashion: with violence.
In agreement with this account, a letter recently released by the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT), headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, confirms that
“it is feared that the threats and acts of harassment they are suffering are the result of the solidarity actions which are taking place in support of the prisoners, in particular those of the campaign ‘5 Days of Worldwide Action for the Bachajón 5’ which were held between the 1st and 5th of April 2011.”
This is a fatal symptom, a sign of desperation, which indicates to us that those from above have been forced to seek other ways of defending themselves at any cost against their worst enemy: An organized people.
In spite of the numerous threats and harassment, in spite of all the hordes of anti-riot helicopters and vans, our sisters and brothers of San Sebastián Bachajón have not given up. Rather, they are advancing in their struggle.
For this reason, we cannot give up either. We must not rest until our 5 brothers are in complete freedom and until the Bachajón community’s just demands are respected.
As such, we propose the following:
1) That we anticipate and remain vigilant for anything that happens. Likewise, that we be prepared to organize immediate, emergency actions if the bad government inflicts any form of violence upon the ejidatatri@s of San Sebastian Bachajón during the following weeks.
2) That we unite our forces once again to realize “5 MORE Days of Worldwide Action for the Bachajón 5” in order to continue fighting together to free the 5 political prisoners of San Sebastián Bachajón, who are adherents of The Other Campaign, and in support of the struggle for dignity and autonomy that the ejidatari@s of Bachajón are carrying out.
Through our solidarity actions, together, we were able to make echo the true history of the Bachajón people and their struggle to defend their lands and natural resources from the avarice of the multinational corporations and their political lackeys. Both of whom seek to dispossess the ejidatari@s from their tollbooth in order to seize the natural wealth that exists in the ejido’s territory. Each time we come together to denounce and contest the bad government and neoliberalism that do all of this simply to accumulate more wealth, we create inalterable cracks in the walls of the prison that confines our five brothers. Now more than ever, we must continue to apply pressure so that these cracks turn into dust.
Once more, we invite each one of you, from every part of the world, in your own way, to realize actions to demand that the PRD governor and repressor Juan Sabiness Guerrero immediately release each one of the five political prisoners.
We propose that together we join forces by organizing actions–from our respective locations and different forms of struggle—such as demonstrations, marches, informative street actions, flyering, public forums, theater, teach-ins, and any other activity to bring about:
“5 MORE Days of Worldwide Action for the Bachajón 5” from April 24th to the 28th.
