I would like to ask the compañeras, compañeros and compañeroas of the Sixth who came from other places, especially the compañeros from the independent media, for your patience, tolerance, and understanding for what I am about to say, because these will be the final words that I speak in public before I cease to exist.

An ambush against zapatistas in the caracol of La Realidad this May 2, 2014, resulted in the murder of José Luis Solís López, “votán” of the School of Liberty according to the Zapatistas, 15 people injured, the destruction of two classrooms and a clinic, damages to vehicles and other goods belonging to the zapatista autonomous project. Collectives and individuals from various parts of Mexico and the world sent us these messages in solidarity with the zapatistas:

Last May 2, José Luís Solís López “Galeano” was murdered by members of the paramilitary group Central Independiente de Obreros Agrícolas y Campesinos Histórica (CIOAC-H) at the caracol of La Realidad.

El 17 y 18 de mayo, Madrid ha celebrado el tercer aniversario del 15M. El sábado 17, una manifestción recorrió el camino que va de la Plaza de la Cibeles a la Puerta del Sol. La Plataforma de Solidaridad con Chiapas y Guatemala de Madrid, el Grupo IRU y el Centro de Documentación sobre Zapatismo, participamos en ella con unas pancartas en la que se exigían justicia para Chiapas. Al finalizar la marcha, se realizó una Asamblea en Sol, en la que se leyó el texto que al final reproducimos y la asamblea en homenaje a Galeano (que se unía al de tod@s l@s luchador@s del mundo) realizó un grito mudo -a la manera del 15M- que finalizó con “¡ZAPATA VIVE, LA LUCHA SIGUE!”

EL DOLOR Y LA RABIA – Carta del Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos

El domingo 18 de mayo de 2014 se realizó en San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, un evento de protesta y solidaridad con lxs zapatistas, ante el ataque que sufrieron el pasado 2 de mayo en el caracol de La Realidad, donde fue asesinado el maestro Galeano y donde resultaron heridos 15 zapatistas, además de daños a la escuela, la clínica y vehículos que son patrimonio de la autonomía zapatista. El evento es parte de la Acción Global Internacional “¡Galeano Vive”, que se realiza simultaneamente en muchos rincones del mundo.
