Tuxtla Gutiérrez. 12 de noviembre. “Hasta hoy, los responsables materiales e intelectuales de este grave crimen permanecen protegidos por la impunidad del Estado mexicano”, expresan familiares y compañerxs de víctimas de la masacre de Viejo Velasco, el 13 de noviembre de 2016, en la Selva Lacandona. El Estado no esclarece los hechos, ni castiga a los responsables materiales e intelectuales de la brutal agresión a la comunidad indígena tseltal, tsotsil y ch’ol, perpetrada por 40 personas civiles armadas, acompañadas por 300 elementos de la Policía de Seguridad Pública, cinco Fiscales del Ministerio Público con siete policías ministeriales a su mando y personal de la Secretaria de Desarrollo Social, denuncian las y los afectados y organismos de derechos humanos.

Brothers and sisters:

We send you greetings. We write to inform you of the following:

First: Per instructions from the National Indigenous Congress, which at the moment is consulting with the originary peoples, barrios, tribes, and nations throughout Mexico on the proposal made during the first phase of the Fifth Congress, we inform you that the permanent assembly of the CNI will be reinstated December 29, 2016, at CIDECI-UNITIERRA in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.

There the CNI will hold roundtable sessions on December 30 and 31 of this year. During these sessions, or before then if the CNI so chooses, the results of the consultation will be made known. On January 1, 2017, the plenary assembly will take place in Oventik, Chiapas, Mexico, and any agreements necessary will be made there.

The compañeras and compañeros of the originary peoples, barrios, tribes, and nations who make up the National Indigenous Congress inform us that they have financial difficulties that impede their travel to this meeting, and so they request solidarity donations from the national and international Sixth, as well as from any honest people who want to support them in this way. To offer this support, the compas of the CNI ask that people communicate directly with them at the following email: info@congresonacionalindigena.org. From there they will explain where and how to send support.

El día de hoy miles de mujeres latinoamericanas se manifestaron en contra de la violencia ejercida contra ellas y los feminicidios en varias ciudades del continente. Desde la Ciudad de México hasta Buenos Aires, se unieron para visibilizar el maltrato que sufren por su condición de género, y para buscar un freno a los abusos que día a día se cometen contra ellas por el hecho de ser mujeres.

En México, se reunieron cientos de mujeres en el Ángel de la Independencia, el monumento más emblemático de la capital del país. Vestidas en su mayoría de negro expresaron su preocupación por vivir en un país con altos índices de feminicidios. La convocatoria para la manifestación se realizó a través del hashtag #NiUnaMenos e incluía un paro de labores en el que las mujeres dejarían de acudir a sus centros de trabajo para integrarse a las movilizaciones.

Pero no sólo en la Ciudad de México, también en otros estados del país como Chiapas, Oaxaca y el Estado de México hubo protestas. “¡Ni una asesinada más!”, gritaban para repudiar los homicidios de mujeres. Decenas cerraron la principal avenida de la capital, y ante la molestia de los automovilistas que se quejaban por los cortes a la circulación, varias les decían: “Perdonen las molestias pero nos están matando”.

A partir del mes de junio de 2016 —a diez años del levantamiento que durante más de seis meses vivió este estado del sur de México— profesores y comunidades de las ocho regiones de Oaxaca regresaron a las calles.

Su principal exigencia es la derogación de la reforma educativa y del paquete de reformas estructurales mejor conocido como «Pacto por México» que el gobierno de Enrique Peña Nieto quiere imponer al país desde 2013 bajo la influencia del Banco Mundial, el Fondo Monetario Internacional y el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo.

Con esas reformas que pretenden privatizar la educación y otros sectores como el campo, la salud, las telecomunicaciones o las energías, el gobierno mexicano está amenazando directamente, no nada más al magisterio, sino al pueblo de México en general. Por lo tanto, el movimiento no se limita a los maestros y la maestras:

Este movimiento dejó de ser magisterial, ahora es un movimiento social, ¿por qué?, porque la gente del pueblo es la más perjudicada, en todos los aspectos. Por eso en todos los pueblos nos estamos organizando para levantar la voz», explica una señora de San Pablo Huitzo.

El pasado 15 de septiembre del 2016, miles salieron a la calle a marchar para exigir la renuncia de Enrique Peña Nieto. Por primera vez en la historia del festejo de la independencia de México, las fiestas patrias se adornaron con denuncias, consignas, carteles de “Fuera Peña”, “Peña Inepto”, “Peña asesino”; por vez primera , el pasado 15 de septiembre de 2016, México conmemoró con banderas negras su independencia.

El joven Maximiliano Gordillo Martínez, originario de Socoltenango, Chiapas, fue desaparecido por agentes del Instituto Nacional de Migración y de la policía estatal de Tabasco, el 7 de mayo de 2016, en la caseta de Migración de Chablé, Tabasco. Hasta ahora, a tres meses y medio después de su desaparición, no se tiene noticias de su paradero.

Este lunes 22 de agosto, en conferencia de prensa, las organizaciones que acompañan a la familia de Maximiliano emitieron un pronunciamiento, que incluimos abajo. También hacen un llamado urgente a la solidaridad nacional e internacional para exigir la inmediata presentación con vida de Maximiliano Gordillo y una investigación exhaustiva contra los responsables. La desaparición forzada práctica cotidiana en México
Violaciones a derechos humanos cometidas por agentes de Migración

Chiapas y Tabasco, fronteras con las hermanas/os de Centroamérica, fronteras del horror, extensión del terror, donde el gobierno de México ejerce su rostro servil hacia los intereses de los poderosos que imponen desde siglos su acción colonial cargada de racismo, discriminación y exclusión; y cada vez más con mayor rigor contra las personas migrantes, en la mira de las más graves violaciones a derechos humanos cometidas por el Estado mexicano.

Miles de personas, familias y pueblos transitan por los territorios del sur del país desde sus lugares de origen, huyendo de una violencia para encontrarse con otra, a veces más cruel: la política migratoria mexicana de los últimos tiempos. Políticas y prácticas de humillación, abuso, tortura, explotación y represión, cometidas por el gobierno mexicano para intentar contener el libre tránsito de personas bajo discursos de seguridad nacional, donde quien migra es concebido tácitamente como criminal, enemigo interno y riesgo a una paz que en verdad ni siquiera existe para nadie.

The threat of rain and the pressure of time did not allow for the compañero to fully develop some of his points and there were others that he was unable to touch on at all. Artists of Mexico and the world:

Sisters, brothers, and hermanoas:

For us, Zapatistas, art is studied by creating many imaginations, reading the gaze, studying in listening, and practicing.

It is by putting it into practice, that is, by doing it, that you will begin to see the result of the science and the art of imagination – the art of creativity.

There is some science and art that is needed immediately, the kind that helps us imagine how to do it.

There can be medium term science and art, and there is long term science and art that improves over the course of time.

For example: To even make something tiny that will contribute to the new world requires that we involve ourselves profoundly in the science and art of imagination, in the gaze, in listening and in creativity, patience, and attention. It requires that we think about how to move forward while building and many other things that must be taken into account.

Because what we want, or what we think about, is a new world, a new system. We don’t want a copy of what we have, we don’t want to improve it a little bit. This is a problem, we say, because there is no book or manual that explains how to create this new world. This book or manual hasn’t been written yet, it is still in the heads of those with imagination, in the eyes that are ready to gaze at the new world that they want to see, in the ears that are attentive in order to hear the new world that they want.

We are writing to send you a few videos of the contributions that the Zapatista bases of support had prepared for the CompArte. For now we are including two videos dedicated to women below and to the left, and especially to the maestras in struggle. Here goes:

“TO DANCE A THOUGHT”

This first video that we will show you is from the Caracol of La Garrucha. It a bailable [choreographed dance] entitled “The Rights of Women.” As is the case with almost everything here, it was prepared collectively by men and women, young people trained in the Zapatista autonomous education system. Zapatista bases of support wrote it, practiced it, and prepared to present it at the CompArte. The MC [maestra or master of ceremonies] explains everything. If you end up repeating the chorus, that’s to be expected. But we can tell you one thing: when you are capable of, as the compañera MC says, “singing a thought,” then perhaps you will have to rethink the idea that Art only comes from above, while below what we have are “crafts” [artesanías].
