Este video fue creado colectivamente por un grupo de jóvenas y jóvenes del Gobierno Comunitario de Chilón en su Diplomado Agroecovisual para la Autonomía que cuenta con el apoyo de PVIFS, CEDIAC, Canan Lum y Misión de Bachajón.

El Covid-19, la pandemia que hoy recorre el mundo, se conoció en estos territorios de las montañas del Norte de Chiapas, cuando los y las jóvenas estaban ya abrazando la Madre Tierra a través de poner en acción prácticas agrícolas ancestrales y agroecológicas.

Que la juventud del Gobierno Comunitario de Chilón, sus autoridades y comunidades estén trabajando autónomamente la tierra y practicando formas propias de gobierno, a la par que exigen jurídicamente su derecho a la autonomía y la libre determinación, es un acto digno de conocerse, difundirse y apoyarse.

En tiempos de pandemia, la autonomía alimentaria, comer sano y cultivar nuestros propios alimentos sin agrotóxicos, es algo que estos pueblos y muchos otros en resistencia están realizando como alternativa real y concreta a lo que la industria capitalista del alimento nos “ofrece”. Ello va de la mano de hacer carne la autonomía política de facto.

This video was created collectively by a group of youngsters from the Community Government of Chilón, Chiapas, Mexico, in their Agroecovisual Course for Autonomy that is supported by PVIFS, CEDIAC, Canan Lum and the Bachajón Mission.

The Covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world today, became known in these mountainous territories of northern Chiapas, when these youngsters were already embracing Mother Earth through putting ancient and agro-ecological agricultural practices into action.

That the youth of the Community Government of Chilón, its authorities and communities are autonomously working the land and practicing their own forms of government, while legally demanding their right to autonomy and self-determination, is an act worth knowing, spreading and supporting.

In times of a pandemic, autonomy in healthy food production and growing our own food without pesticides, is something that these peoples and many others in resistance are practicing as a real and concrete alternative to what the capitalist food industry “offers” us. This goes hand in hand with establishing de facto political autonomy.
