Compañeras and compañeros:

From Oaxaca, Mexico, as part of the first phase of the “Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López” Campaign, the long-time Mexican intellectual and activist Gustavo Esteva sends us a critical and poetic reflection that lays bare the reasons we must support and stand in solidarity with the Zapatista resistance. In his moving piece, titled “The Time for Resistance and Solidarity,” which incorporates quotes from the Zapatistas themselves, our compa Gustavo gives language to what we know instinctively, as a feeling. The dignified resistance of the Zapatistas is not some isolated or distant thing, as Gustavo explains, but rather a movement of dignified people that unites us. It is directly relevant to all of us. Therefore, we must defend it; we must defend ourselves.

THE TIME FOR RESISTANCE AND SOLIDARITY

“Struggling together, the colour of our skin is not important, what matters is the content of our hearts,” they told us in the Good Government Council, somewhere in the Mexican southeast, in the month of September 2012, as the true word continues walking for our compañero Francisco Sántiz López and for the compañeros of San Marcos Avilés.

Struggling together, because that is the only way we are able to confront those who are doing everything in their power to disrupt our initiatives, our livelihoods, our organization, our autonomy.

It is more than ten years now since our Zapatista compañeros told us this clearly, but it seems that at that time we could not hear them. We did not see then with the clarity we have now that we are in World War IV. It is not a war between countries. It is a war of those from above against those from below. Because we, those from below, are now walking in rebellion; because we have been saying “enough!” ever since the first of January 1994, when the Zapatista uprising awoke us. Because we are no longer willing to let them continue to destroy our Mother Earth, and to continue to kill and imprison us. Because we have organized ourselves now, and we are building alternatives. For these and many other reasons they have unleashed a continuous war against us, from outside and inside, making it more and more difficult for us to live. They want to turn the whole world into a prison. The market has already got used to the new situation. It operates within a war scenario and trades everything on the stock market, leading to uncertainty. But the people do not get used to it. And we resist.

“Resistance is no longer just a word,” they said to us at the Junta. “Before, we thought it was easy, we thought it was no more than just enduring. Now we know that it is the only way, the way to show that life is not made with money, but with the resistance with which we live and work. Now we do not often speak of resistance in our communities, because we have become accustomed to it. But we see resistance where the bad government comes to beat us, with attacks by paramilitaries, here yes we see resistance because we have to care for what is ours, because if we give up the resistance even a little we will give a space to the bad government to take away what we have, and we are not going to go back on what we have built. We know that some people do not like us to organize, and for this reason many things happen, they attack us, but never mind, each of us is still here, safe and happy, if something happens to us there are other compas waiting behind us. Despite this, there we see that we are living a quiet life with our brothers and sisters, and that is where we see the resistance. Resistance is the place where we do what we want without asking permission from anyone, and so we say that there are many resistances. We do not have a timetable for the resistance or a set time. We will never come to an end, we know that we will not give up, even if they kill us, because our word will continue.”

“We are finding that there are many like us, for nobody teaches us what we are going to do, and so what matters most is unity, the best way to build the world where many worlds fit is through unity, to be and to want to be together, although we are different. It gives us great pleasure when we hear of the struggles of other countries and places. To be fighters we have to be ready and willing, not only for prison but also for death. But if this is what we want, then let us continue. This is the only way we can go, there is no other way.”

Both Francisco Sántiz López and San Marcos Avilés are frontlines in this great war that escalates daily in the Zapatista communities, because their resistance is walking onwards, because every day they affirm themselves in their autonomy, consolidate their achievements and take them even further. The bad government watches how the Zapatista resistance is enriched, how they extend their own ways of learning and justice and health and all their modes of living and how, despite everything that is done against them, the new social reality, which is the foundation for a different mode of existence, spreads and is strengthened. The attacks are not directed against weakness, or against something sad or dead. They attack all that flourishes, all that is robust, and all that serves as an example and is a source of inspiration.

You might think that these attacks are very distant, that they occur over there in some small community in the highlands of Chiapas, where they think no one will ever witness the horror of this attack unleashed against those who just want to continue to live in their own way, in the construction of their autonomy, and to extend the activities so that their children may learn to participate in this autonomy. But Sántiz speaks well from his prison: “If I’m here, I’m there; if I’m there, I’m here.”

The demons are on the loose. The war is everywhere. But so too is solidarity—that decision to be together in this common struggle that no longer respects territories. In each place it is different. But everywhere the same phenomenon is reproduced: the people affirm their dignity and say ‘enough!’, and they take their path, and the response from above is intimidation, aggression, corruption, continuous war…

It is urgent to show ourselves on the side of our compañeros in San Marcos Avilés. The threat is immediate. We, the Committees of the True Word, must make ourselves known in every way that we can, so that the strength of our solidarity may be seen.

It is the time for resistance. And to resist is to struggle in common, together, in the embrace of solidarity.

Compañer@s herman@s, la junta de buen gobierno sigue denunciando la grave situación que sufren nuestros compañeros (as) bases de apoyo de la nueva comunidad comandante Abel antes san patricio, Municipio Autónomo Rebelde Zapatista la Dignidad, Chiapas, Municipio oficial de sabanilla.

1. El día 8 de septiembre del presente, continuaron los disparos de armas de gruesos calibres apuntando en la dirección de la comunidad, en ese momento los niñ@s, mujeres y ancianos salieron se escondieron debajo de los arboles, troncos, piedras y se dispersaron en el monte por el miedo de ser alcanzado por las balas de los agresores, sin saber en qué rumbo llevaron así pasaron una noche en el monte, bajo la lluvia y frio hasta los 2 días se supo de su paradero que salieron en algunas comunidades, aun hasta ahora tenemos 4 desaparecidos que estamos buscando su paradero 2 compañeras y 2 niños, las compañeras están ahora en calidad de desplazados y están viviendo una situación difícil pero los niñ@s están enfermos de calentura, vomito, diarrea tos y empiezan a sufrir escases de alimentación, ropa y medicina en total tenemos 70 entre compañeros (as) niños (as) ancianos (as) en el poblado quedaron los compañeros y algunas compañeras para defender la tierra y los invasores es ese día construyeron 2 trincheras y 3 casas.

2. En ese mismo día los compañeros bases de apoyo de la comunidad unión hidalgo también se desplazaron por el miedo de las fuertes y constantes amenazas de ser masacrados por los paramilitares de la misma comunidad, l@s compañer@s, niñ@s también se fueron en la montaña durante 3 días, igual bajo lluvia sufriendo frio, hambre y llegaron a salir en una comunidad, también están sufriendo de diferentes enfermedades, en total10 desplazados y 1 niño recién nacido ,solo quedaron los jóvenes para cuidar sus casas y pertenencias.

3. el día 9 ampliaron el lugar donde tienen tomado los agresores y midieron solares para construir mas casas.
A las 4:00 horas de las tarde dieron dos disparos del calibre 22
a las 9:30 horas de la noche dieron otros 25 disparos de diferentes calibres.
a las 12:00 horas de la noche dieron otros cuatro disparos.

4. el día 10 de septiembre entraron tres hombres armados para reforzar a los invasores, que son de la comunidad de saquija municipio de sabanilla, uno de ellos fue identificado que es Hipólito Pérez Hernández.
El día 11 de septiembre han construido 5 casas con techo de lámina y dos con techo de lona. los dirigentes paramilitares más visibles del grupo armado paz y justicia también son conocidos como UCIAF formado por el mismo gobierno son: CARLOS CLEBER CONZÁLEZ CABELLO ex candidato del PRI fue el que financio para la compra de armas de los invasores, PEDRO RAMÍREZ GUZMÁN E HIPÓLITO RAMÍREZ MARTÍNEZ máximo dirigentes de la comunidad unión hidalgo, JESÚS RAMÍREZ MARTÍNEZ, MIGUEL ENCINO GÓMEZ Y JAVIER GUZMÁN ENCINO igual dirigentes que viven en sabanilla son los mismos dirigentes que organizaron el año pasado a los de Ostelukum que intentaron invadir la misma tierra.

5. Todo lo que está pasando y de lo que va a pasar, Responsabilizamos a los tres niveles del mal gobierno, FELIPE CALDERÓN HINOJOSA, JUAN SABINES GUERRERO, la presidenta municipal de tila SANDRA LUS CRUZ ESPINOZA y el presidente municipal de sabanilla GENARO VÁSQUES PÉREZ, porque son los autores intelectuales que organizan, financean, preparan, arman y ordenan a estos grupos paramilitares y delincuentes a través de sus instituciones armadas.
Para cumplir con el plan de contrainsurgencia de debilitar la resistencia de nuestros pueblos, el mal gobierno quieren que caigamos en sus planes de control por medio de sus migajas que cae debajo de sus mesas lo que sobran de sus mujeres.

Nosotros somos pobres pero dignos, no somos limosneros, somos hombres y mujeres libres de construir nuestra vida para el futuro de nuestros pueblos a través de nuestra madre tierra.

Viendo el mal gobierno que nuestros bases de apoyo no caen en la gran mentira de que por medio de las limosnas se va a mejorar las condiciones de vida de los pueblos, porque sabemos que es para tenerlos controlado mientras que ellos siguen su plan de ser dueños de las riquezas de nuestro país.

Entonces nos mandan sus grupos armados para matar, desalojar y destruir nuestras tierras, mientras que el mal gobierno está hablando de paz, hablando de defender garantías del pueblo, hablando de que se hace justicia en México, Pidiendo apoyo económico de la ONU según para combatir la pobreza para el desarrollo social del pueblo, solo se está utilizando para armar, financiar a grupos armados para matar.
¿De cuál paz habla el mal gobierno?

¿Es paz eso de financiar, organizar, preparar grupos armados para matar a su propio hermano, a su propio pueblo?

¿Es paz eso de mandar a disparar a un pueblo de hombres, mujeres, niñ@s y ancian@s indefensos, obligando a refugiarse, esconderse bajo arboles, piedras, troncos para salvar sus vidas y de estar sufriendo pasando noches, lluvias, frio y hambre sol@s en las montañas?

¿Cuál es el grave delito que han cometido estos compañeros (as), niños (as)? a ¿caso es delito poseer un pedazo de tierra para vivir y mantener la familia?

Es una vergüenza ante el mundo diciendo combatir delincuencia cuando en verdad están protegiendo grupos, dirigentes, que actúan públicamente en contra de los pueblos en resistencia, sabe bien el mal gobierno quienes son, dónde están, que cargos ejercen no hace nada por ellos porque son ellos los máximos líderes de esos grupos delincuentes y armados.

Todos los actos delictivos que cometen día a día para ello no son delitos, al contrario los protegen, lo tienen en plena libertad.

¿Dónde esta eso que anuncia en sus medios de comunicación para engañar al pueblo que cualquier persona agredida, que denuncia y que los delincuentes serán perseguidos?

Nosotros no estamos en contra de los que no están con nosotros, al contrario el grupo oficialista que viven en la comunidad se san patricio le entregamos una parte de la tierra que nos correspondía para que ellos tengan su parte porque también tienen derecho a la vida y para eso nuestros bases se reubicaron en el predio la lámpara para construir su nueva comunidad en honor a nuestro compañero finado comandante Abel, Para que cada grupo se organicen, trabajen y gocen de sus derechos agrarios.

Que quede claro el pinche gobierno tramposo, mentiroso y baboso que no nos vamos a rendir hasta entregar la vida por la tierra se es necesario, si cree que no basta la sangre derramada el 1 de enero del 94 para tener un lugar en este mundo.

Compañeros y Compañeras:

Reciban todos y todas un saludo solidario, rebelde e indignado de nuestra parte, sepan que aunque lejos nos encontramos de ustedes, acabamos de recibir la denuncia pública realizada por la JBG Nueva Semilla que va a
producir y que nos pone al tanto de la represión que esta viviendo la actual comunidad comandante Abel, conocida mejor como San Patricio, Municipio Autónomo Rebelde Zapatista la Dignidad.

Estas ultimas semanas hemos sido testigos de los múltiples agravios y pisoteos que han recibido también los compañeros del ejido San Carlos, Municipio Autónomo San Pedro de Michoacán, ubicado en el Caracol de La Realidad, y del ejido de Moisés Gandhi, región Che Guevara, Municipio Autónomo Lucio Cabañas en el Caracol de Morelia.

Por medio de la presente carta, los colectivos abajo firmantes, nos pronunciamos enérgicamente en contra de todas estas agresiones perpetradas sistemáticamente por los tres niveles del mal gobierno mexicano, en complicidad con los partidos políticos contra las comunidades autónomas zapatistas. La guerra no ha parado y sigue desde 1994, y ahora, con el cambio de mal-gobierno se arrecian las humillaciones, los pisoteos, la guerra. – como los mismos compañeros lo señalan en el comunicado urgente del 8 de septiembre- “Todo lo que está pasando es la misma guerra de contrainsurgencia que está haciendo el mal gobierno de los ricos poderosos en contra de nuestra organización y nuestros pueblos en resistencia (…) no vamos a permitir que el mal gobierno, por medio de sus grupos paramilitares nos vuelva a quitar porque la tierra es nuestra…”

Compañeros y compañeras, desde aquí, nos unimos a su exigencia y responsabilizamos de todos los atropellos perpetrados contra las comunidades zapatistas al gobierno federal de Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, al gobierno del estado encabezado por Juan Sabines Guerrero, al presidente municipal de Sabanilla Genaro Vázquez Pérez y la presidenta municipal de Tila Sandra Cruz Espinisa; así como a sus protegidos paramilitares de paz y justicia y de la ORCAO.

Algunos de nuestros colectivos han acompañado ya durante muchos años la construcción de las comunidades zapatistas, durante el camino siempre hemos visto los pisoteos, la mano dura y la soberbia de cualquier gobierno en turno, hemos visto cuanta injusticia se acumula y se transfiere para que el siguiente gobierno siga perpetuando, cobijando y protegiendo su aparato paramilitar, su partido, su ganancia personal, sus negocios, su
saqueo, su corrupción.

Pero también, en este camino recorrido, hemos visto que ustedes compañeros zapatistas y muchos de quienes los miran y acompañan, han hecho un gran esfuerzo por seguir dignamente resistiendo, construyendo, echando semilla… Así, desde acá, cada quien con sus diferentes tiempos, sus modos, sus esfuerzos, seguimos dando resonancia, no solamente a sus denuncias, si no también a su andar construyendo.

Una vez mas, y como siempre les decimos ¡No están solos, no están solas! Aquí seguimos caminando junto a ustedes, seguimos mirando, atentos.

(Carta publicada el 12 de septiembre en el Correro Ilustrado de la Jornada)

Desde el sur de América, compañeros estudiantes/profesores militantes de Argentina (Jujuy, Tucumán, Santiago del Estero, Mendoza, Córdoba, Rosario), Uruguay, Brasil y Venezuela, juntamos la rabia e indignación para acercarnos a los pueblos zapatistas del sureste mexicano. Gritos y puños de rebeldía permanente a todos los que luchamos por construir otro mundo posible.

Estamos informados del accionar del grupo paramilitar Paz y Justicia y miembros del PRI contra bases de apoyo zapatistas de la comunidad Comandante Abel, Municipio Autónomo, la Dignidad. Sabemos de los hechos ocurridos el 6 y 7 de septiembre que manifiestan la intención de invadir y desalojar a las familias zapatistas de la tierra que les pertenece; destruyendo y robando el trabajo colectivo, portando armas de alto calibre y usando uniformes militares para amenazar.

No sorprende que lideren esa actuación funcionarios del mal gobierno: Carlos Cléber, ex candidato del PRI y dirigentes del grupo paramilitar; Rolando Gómez Guzmán, ex soldado; Conrado Gómez Guzmán, agente municipal de Unión Hidalgo; Javier Guzmán Encino, ex funcionario del gobierno de Sabanilla.

Repudiamos la complicidad de los tres niveles de gobierno: Felipe Calderón, Juan Sabines, el edil de Sabanilla, Genaro Vázquez, y la alcaldesa de Tila, Sandra Cruz. Nos mantenemos al tanto de la situación para desplegar acciones de solidaridad hacia nuestros hermanos.

Quienes conformamos el Espacio de Lucha contra el Olvido y la Represión (ELCOR), ante la denuncia pública de la Junta de Buen Gobierno Nueva Semilla que va a Producir nos pronunciamos para manifestar nuestra indignación y llamar a tod@s l@s adherentes a la Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona y a l@s que participamos en la Otra Campaña nacional e internacional estar pendientes de la situación de la Nueva Comunidad Comandante Abel.

En los últimos meses hemos compartido cuatro informes que dan cuenta de los hostigamientos y cambios que han sucedido en la comunidad zapatista. En el último informe pedimos “estar atentos y organizados ante estos nuevos vientos del priísmo rancio y represivo”. Hoy compañer@s, la rabia nos invade, ante la denuncia pública de la JBG del Caracol Roberto Barrios, donde no sólo informan de la situación que se está viviendo en dicha comunidad, sino la importancia de defender la tierra recuperada en 1994, ante los actos de paramilitares y priistas compinches de los intereses de los malos gobiernos. Gobiernos cómplices del despojo y asesinato contra quienes defienden el territorio que les pertenece.

De igual forma hemos difundido la necesidad de participar en las Brigadas de Observación que iniciaron ante tal situación -y las cuales continúan-. El objetivo ha sido no sólo acompañar, sino compartir el proceso de dignificación de lucha por parte de las familias bases de apoyo de dicho poblado.

La Junta de Buen Gobierno informa que el día 6 y 7 del presente mes, paramilitares invadieron el poblado con arma de alto calibre en mano y tirando disparos. Posterior a dicha incursión resalta la presencia de tres funcionarios del mal gobierno, al anochecer la incursión de un número creciente de paramilitares. Al amanecer del día 7 de septiembre 150 paramilitares invaden la comunidad, quienes comienzan a destruir alambrados y trabajos colectivos de  compañeros bases de apoyo. A las 10am tres integrantes de grupo invasor con uniformes militares y encapuchados disparan 30 cartuchos de grueso calibre con dirección a la casa de un bases de apoyo (arma 9 milímetros y AR-15), a los minutos rodearon la comunidad.

Retomamos de la denuncia pública de la Junta de Buen Gobierno los nombres de los dirigentes paramilitares que encabezaron la operación, esto con el objetivo de denunciar en la medida de nuestras posibilidades a estos criminales: Pedro Ramírez Guzmán, Jesús Ramírez Guzmán, comisariado ejidal; Ramiro Encino Gómez, consejo de vigilancia, Ignacio Gómez Guzmán, Luís Gómez Encino, Oscar Gómez Ramírez, Miguel Encino Gómez, Hipólito Martínez, Carlos Cléber Gonzáles Cabello, ex candidato del PRI y dirigente de “Paz y Justicia”, Rolando Gómez Guzmán ex soldado, Manuel, Cruz Guzmán, comisariado de San Patricio; Jerónimo Ramírez Martínez judicial de San Patricio, Conrado Gómez Guzmán, agente municipal de Unión Hidalgo, Javier Guzmán Encino ex funcionario del gobierno municipal de Sabanilla. De igual modo a los responsables de las tres instancias del mal gobierno: Felipe Calderón, Juan Sabines, al presidente municipal de Sabanilla, Genaro Vázquez Pérez y a la presidenta municipal de Tila, Sandra Cruz.

La agresión armada a la comunidad es un acto reprobable, continuación de la Guerra de desgaste iniciada en 1994 contra el EZLN y sus bases de apoyo. Es claro el ataque a la autonomía que se practica, es clara la intención de los tres niveles de gobierno de propiciar la muerte de quienes luchan día a día. Es claro que el mal gobierno pretende acallar la práctica de los Acuerdos de San Andrés que se ensayan en el día a día en el territorio auntónomo zapatistas del  sureste mexicano.

El mal gobierno, como es su costumbre miente y engaña. Vuelve a incumplir el compromiso que en septiembre del 2011 dijo haber firmado de no agresión a la comunidad de San Patricio (hoy comunidad Comandante Abel)

La denuncia difundida el 8 de septiembre de 2012 por de Junta de Buen Gobierno Nueva Semilla que va a Producir es extremadamente grave.

Como parte de su estrategia, el Estado, para ocultar la presencia de grupos paramilitares y de contrainsurgencia, los disfrazó de organizaciones civiles. De este modo, sus agresiones mantendrían la apariencia de grupos indígenas que “libremente” se oponen al proyecto zapatista y, en caso de enfrentamientos, se difundiría información sobre enfrentamientos entre organizaciones o comunidades. Sin embargo, parece que el Estado regresa al ataque brutal directo al utilizar sus paramilitares con uniformes y armados con AR-15 como sucedió el 6 de septiembre de 2012 en la Comunidad Autónoma Comandante Abel. Grupos de priistas despojaron territorio liberado en las inmediaciones de la Comunidad Autónoma Comandante Abel con el Apoyo adicional del grupo paramilitar Paz y Justicia

En menos de un mes hay tres agresiones en territorio zapatista: en el Caracol de Morelia, en la Realidad y ahora en Roberto Barrios. Estos actos de contrainsurgencia son peligrosamente más frecuentes y violentos. Junto con los despojos de territorio, quemas de sembradíos, destrucción de escuelas autónomas, robos de cosechas esta ahora el descarado operar del grupo paramilitar Paz y Justicia. La presencia de este grupo es una clara provocación al EZLN.

La Red Contra la Represión y por la Solidaridad responsabiliza de cualquier ataque, de cualquier agresión contra nuestros compañeros y compañeras zapatistas al gobierno federal encabezado por Felipe Calderón, al estatal de Juan Sabines, a las autoridades oficiales de la Sabanilla y Tila. Refrendamos nuestra solidaridad con las Comunidades Zapatistas, llamamos a nuestros compañeros y compañeras de México, a los compañeros y compañeras internacionales a realizar actos de solidaridad con los zapatistas, según nuestras formas y capacidades, a mantenernos atentos y atentos a acciones que este misma Red convoque, pues el proceso zapatista, la lucha zapatista es parte de las luchas de los procesos de liberación de la gente de abajo que comienzan a caminar con dignidad.

Another letter in support of our Zapatista sisters and brothers is born amidst the global consciousness raising activities which form a strategic part of the first phase of the “Worldwide Echo in support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López” campaign.

This time the words of solidarity come to us from Uruguayan lands by way of the pen of the thinker and activist Raúl Zibechi. Like in the previous letters, these words are full of truth, anger, and dignity. Our compa Raul sums up for us the true goal of those from above in their war against the Zapatista communities–“to defeat a dream made ​​reality, one which we can see in the Good Government Junta of Oventic, and in so many other places.”

That dream is ours as well.

Those from above have declared war on the Zapatista communities, a war which these days is focused on the community in resistance of San Marcos Avilés and the Zapatista political prisoner Francisco Sántiz López.

The information sent to us by the compañeros and compañeras of the Movement for Justice in El Barrio shows us the nature of this offensive: it is aimed at eliminating all resistance at a time when capital is unleashing hunger and misery upon those from below in order to increase and protect its gigantic profits. To safeguard their continued accumulation of wealth, it is necessary to wipe from the face of the earth all obstacles, every kind of resistance.

What the media and the “experts” call crisis, is actually part of this offensive to remove from the scene the peoples and the individuals who refuse to give way. Those from above are not in crisis. It is we, our strategies to survive and change the world, who have entered a crisis after decades of being anaesthetized with electoral illusions which promote the idea that it is possible to build an Other World without struggling, without addressing the hatred and the crimes of those from above.

It is not a coincidence that the Zapatista communities are being repressed. They have shown millions, throughout the whole world, a path of resistance and construction that is multiplying in the most remote places. For those from above, destroying the Zapatista movement would be a double victory: against the peoples and communities of Chiapas and against all those in the world who find inspiration in their example. It would mean bringing down a dream made flesh, like the one we can see in the Good Government Junta of Oventic, and in so many other places.

For all these reasons, solidarity with San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López is as essential as it is urgent.

compañer@s herman@s la junta de buen gobierno denunciamos públicamente la situación que se está viviendo en la nueva comunidad comandante Abel antes San Patricio Municipio Autónomo Rebelde Zapatista la Dignidad, Chiapas, Municipio oficial de Sabanilla.

1.- El día 6 de septiembre del 2012 a las 7 horas de la mañana un grupo de 55 personas llegaron armados, con armas de diferentes calibres aposesionarse en el terreno de nuestros compañer@s bases de apoyo a unos 200 metros de la nueva comunidad, antes mencionado.

-El grupo son de la comunidad Unión Hidalgo y los priistas de San Patricio del municipio oficial de Sabanilla. Este grupo llegaron son el objetivo de invadir y desalojar a nuestros compañeros, de sus tierras y pertenencias.
Cuando llegaron empezaron a construir techos y pusieron una bandera roja, a las 11 de la mañana del mismo día, empezaron a robar maíz verde que tienen los compañeros.

-A las12 del día hicieron un disparo con arma calibre 22.

-A las 3 horas de la tarde llegaron tres funcionarios del mal gobierno en el lugar donde se encuentran los invasores acompañados de niños y niñas hijos de los priistas de la comunidad de San Patricio y luego regresaron. Después llegaron más paramilitares, llegando a 70 el número de los invasores.

-A las 8 de la noche del mismo día los paramilitares se movilizaron en distintas direcciones realizando 26 disparos con armas de fuego.

-A las 12 de la noche nuevamente se escuchó dos disparos de calibre 22 y llegaron más refuerzos de los paramilitares.

2.-Al amanecer el día 7 de septiembre llego a 150 el número de invasores paramilitares, después empezaron a rosar acahuales, destruir porterías, alambrados de los pastizales del colectivo de nuestros compañeros bases de apoyo.

-A las 10 horas de la mañana con 10 minutos, un compañero salió de su casa a observar y le dispararon 30 cartuchos de grueso calibre un de los proyectiles impactó en la pared de la habitación del compañero, fueron 3 integrantes de grupo invasor con uniformes militares y encapuchados que realizaron dicho acto, 2 de ellos activaron pistolas de 9 milímetro y otro uno con arma de AR-15, este último lo hiso con ráfagas.

-A las 10:30 horas de la mañana rodearon la comunidad a unos 150 metros de distancia todos con armas de diferentes calibres, se pudo descifrar que son 19 armas que portan.

3.- los dirigentes paramilitares del grupo armado paz y justicia que encabezan esta operación de desalojo, amenazas, agresiones robos en contra de nuestros compañeros son: Pedro Ramírez Guzmán judicial secreto del ejido unión hidalgo municipio oficial de sabanilla, Jesús Ramírez Guzmán comisariado ejidal, Ramiro Encino Gómez consejo de vigilancia de la misma comunidad, Ignacio Gómez Guzmán, Luis Gómez Encino, Oscar Gómez Ramírez, Miguel Encino Gómez, Hipólito Ramírez Martínez, Carlos Clever Gonzales Cabello ex candidato del PRI dirigentes de paz y justicia, Rolando Gómez Guzmán ex soldado, Manuel Cruz Guzmán comisariado de san patricio, Gerónimo Ramírez Martínez judicial secreto de la misma comunidad San Patricio, Conrado Gómez Guzmán agente municipal del ejido Unión Hidalgo, Javier Guzmán Encino ex funcionario del gobierno del municipio oficial de sabanilla son los que están encabezando esta acción en contra de nuestro pueblo como les indica sus jefes el mal gobierno.

4.- Todo lo que está pasando es la misma guerra de contrainsurgencia que está haciendo el mal gobierno de los ricos poderosos en contra de nuestra organización y nuestros pueblos en resistencia, el gobierno lo que busca es el derramamiento de sangre y muerte, cuando nuestros pueblos en resistencia están construyendo sus vidas por medio de los recursos que tenemos que es la madre tierra donde vivimos, por eso en el año de 1994 lo que recuperamos con la vida y sangre de nuestros combatientes no vamos a permitir que el mal gobierno, por medio de sus grupos paramilitares nos vuelva a quitar porque la tierra es nuestro, eran de nuestros abuelos y bisabuelos que nos la quitaron cuando llegaron los pinches invasores españoles quitándole la vida y derramando sangre a millones de los originarios de esta tierras, por eso decimos que la tierra es nuestra y lo vamos a defender cualquiera que sea el costo si no entiende la razón, si no tiene corazón humano el mal gobierno, deporsi sabemos que tiene corazón inhumano pero lo más triste es que el mal gobierno no se enfrenta directo con el pueblo utiliza el mismo pobre jodido hasta de la misma raza para cumplir su objetivo de despojar, matar y adueñarse de las riquezas.

Por todos estos actos de delitos ya mencionados y lo que pueda pasar con Nuestros compañeros hombres, mujeres, niñ@s y ancianos que están en graves peligros sus vidas en estos momentos. Responsabilizamos al gobierno federal Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, al gobierno del estado Juan Sabines Guerrero, presidente municipal de sabanilla Genaro Vázquez Pérez y la presidenta municipal de tila Sandra Cruz Espinisa.

Pedimos alos herman@s de buena voluntad que estén pendiente de la situación que viven y sufren nuestros compañer@s bases de apoyo de lo que pueda pasar.

Receive an affectionate embrace from the Mexican migrants of Movement for Justice in El Barrio, The Other Campaign New York. We hope that you are well, and ready to continue the struggle.

In order to expand the reach of the ongoing activities taking place as part of the current First Phase of our Campaign: “Walking the True Word”, which will continue until October 11, we are writing to you to propose that we join forces once more to carry out the Second Phase: “From Truth to Action, Stopping the Repression.”

This new phase will be different from the current first one – which aims to raise awareness in our communities about the dire situation that our Zapatista compas of San Marcos Avilés and the Zapatista political prisoner, Sántiz López, are facing – this second phase will be a period of direct action and protest from October 12 to November 17. As you will understand, these dates were chosen for their great significance in the history of indigenous struggles throughout the world: the Day of Indigenous Resistance and the anniversary of the Birth of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).

SECOND CALL TO ACTION:
“FROM TRUTH TO ACTION, STOPPING THE REPRESSION”

First and foremost, we would like to thank all the people who are continuing to give light and breath to this worldwide campaign, which for over a month now we have been creating and shaping together. Thank you for sharing this path with us and for continuing to walk alongside us.

Since its beginning at the end of July, when the first call to action was released, the “Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López” International Campaign has been a meeting point for thousands of people of good heart who have responded to call of the Zapatistas for support and solidarity.

In addition, in many countries, solidarity cells called “Committees of the True Word” have been organized around this meeting point, and are continuing to build support networks and raise public awareness about the repression currently being faced by the Zapatista community of San Marcos Avilés and the Zapatista political prisoner Sántiz López.

More of these “Committees” continue to be set up every day, as more groups and people of good conscience join the campaign.

Together, we have all started the work of, to borrow a phrase from the wise Old Antonio, “walking the true word” by organizing in our respective communities, ejidos, towns, neighborhoods, and countries to sow the words of San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López like seeds which will grow, in their turn, into the struggle in their support.

More and more people are finding each other every day, seeking and meeting in the darkness and obscurity of lies and indifference which those from above have constructed in order to keep us divided. Fumbling in the dark, we continue to meet each other, and searching, day after day, for a way to break through into the light. As our ancestors say, our collective words contain the essence of life on this planet: memory – and, once spoken and shared, our words become fire.

We remember that this darkness was both born in and gave rise to, that time the EZLN describe as “the long night of those 500 years.” While the political, economic, cultural, and social systems of those from above continue to move our lives and Mother Earth closer towards total extinction, the resistances of those from below continue to build other exits to escape this obscurity.

To prevent us from joining hands and rising from this darkness, those from above have committed to douse all the lights radiating from dignified people. This is why they are deploying their strategies of violence and destruction, and are attacking, imprisoning, repressing, assaulting, violating, robbing, silencing, and lying to us.

This is also why those from above, those who have created this long night, have chosen as their main target the indigenous peoples of the world, who have made such significant contributions to the struggle against the darkness.

Faced with this threat of planetary extinction, we must mobilize urgently to defend each and every light that illuminates our path towards the construction of another possible world. And as the True Word was and is the first form of light, it is vital that we defend those words which Old Antonio tells us were the first three in every language: “democracy, freedom, justice.”

It is no coincidence that these three words cannot be found in the governments, jails, schools, mass media, or the other institutions serving the privileges of those from above. Nor is it a coincidence that these same three words are alive, in many different ways, among the dignified people from below, especially the indigenous people of Mexico and the world. While those from above continue to attack and destroy these lights, we will continue to defend and create more lights, more exits, more worlds.

Even though those from above are using the lies which give the night its darkness to keep us divided, in our hearts we carry that which makes the light shine…This is called truth.

In order to actively support the defense of the light that shines from the Zapatistas, an exemplary indigenous movement, whose struggle has always been for and with both indigenous and non-indigenous peoples alike, we call on and invite everyone once again to join this campaign, and to carry out its second phase, which will consist of a month of strategic and direct actions.

Beginning on October 12, the Day of Indigenous Resistance, and lasting until November 17, the anniversary of the birth of the EZLN, we invite everyone to organize actions – according to our own ways and abilities – in our respective communities and countries during this period, so as to echo the call of the indigenous Zapatista community of San Marcos Avilés and the indigenous Zapatista political prisoner Francisco Sántiz López.

As our compas from San Marcos Avilés explain in their video-message, available below, they have endured a constant nightmare at the hands of a local attack group, backed by political party members, for having opened their own autonomous school “Emiliano Zapata” in 2010. From forced displacement to sexual assault, these compas have suffered numerous forms of violence and repression solely for wanting to live with dignity and freedom as indigenous peoples.it

At the same time, our compañero Francisco Sántiz López, a Zapatisa support base member and indigenous Tzeltal, has been imprisoned since December 2011 for crimes that he did not commit. His only offense, as has been stated over and over again, is that of being a Zapatista Support Base member. For this reason, he is being held as a hostage of the Mexican State.
