After the report published by the international GIEI group, the relatives of the disappeared and murdered students from Ayotzinapa, n a press conference at the Prodh Human Rights Center, demand a meeting with Peña Nieto before September 10 to demand compliance with prior agreements and that the GIEI report be considered in the investigations; likewise, they reiterate that “the events in Cocula never took place,” and therefore those who fabricated and supported the “historic lie” should be investigated and tried.

“We don’t believe in them… here’s the proof… they denied it for months, the lie fell apart…”

Comunicado colectivo ante agresiones recientes (SubVersiones)

A las organizaciones sociales de abajo y a la izquierda,
A los medios libres mexicanos y transterritoriales,
A lxs adherentes a la Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona,
Al Congreso Nacional Indígena,
A defensores de derechos humanos y libertad de expresión en México y el mundo,
A las personas que nos han brindado su confianza y apoyo.

El lunes 31 de agosto en la Ciudad de México, a plena luz del día y en la vía pública, uno de los integrantes de este colectivo, Heriberto Paredes Coronel, fue amenazado de muerte, hecho documentado por la organización Artículo 19.

Además de Heriberto, dos compañeros más que han decidido mantener su identidad fuera de la vista pública, también fueron amenazados, por lo que nos mantenemos en alerta. Esto no es un hecho aislado, desde mayo del año en curso, participantes de este medio independiente han sido amenazados por motivos relacionados con las labores de comunicación que realizamos.

Messing With Major

His name is Major — (his real name)–Major Tillery of West Philadelphia. Although he had a reputation as a gangster, in prison such things matter little. It’s as a jailhouse lawyer that he shook the prison walls in the case known as Tillery v. Owens, a ground-breaking prison conditions case where double-dealing (or the placement of four men in a cell) was declared unconstitutional. The prison medical department was declared unconstitutional and living conditions in part of the prison were declared a violation of the constitution.

Shortly after his glorious win, Major Tillery was sent to a prison in another state. Retaliation? Sure looks like it.

Several months ago, Major saw me in the library, and expressed shock at my appearance, my carriage, and my level of wakefulness. He argued with me, insisting I go to the prison infirmary.

México, D.F. a 1 de septiembre de 2015.- Heriberto Paredes, fotoperiodista y reportero de la Agencia Autónoma de Comunicación Subversiones, fue amenazado de muerte la tarde del 31 de agosto en el Distrito Federal. Esta amenaza es la quinta agresión al periodista e integrantes del medio desde mayo de 2015.

“Me siento con bastante incertidumbre. En estas situaciones es imposible no sentir un grado de miedo, de preocupación. Pero definitivamente lo que más siento es molestia, enojo; primero porque me gustaría tener la libertad de trabajar y expresar lo que considero necesario sin que ello sea un peligro para mi vida o para la de mis compañeras y compañeros de trabajo.” Dijo Heriberto Paredes en entrevista con ARTICLE 19

Paredes comentó que él se encontraba afuera de una estación de metro, cuatro horas después de salir de una reunión de la red #RompeElMiedo en las oficinas de ARTICLE19, cuando una persona de alrededor de 50 años de edad se le acercó y le dijo “Ya valiste verga. Te vamos a matar” “Ni con dinero se va a arreglar” “Ya valió verga Cuatrovientos” (este es el alias que Heriberto utilizaba en redes sociales hasta hace algunos días). El agresor sujetaba un objeto en la bolsa de su pantalón mientras lo amenazaba verbalmente.
