Los clientes no generan la trata de personas

Por Jaime Montejo de la Agencia de Noticias Independiente Noti-Calle, México, D.F., 1 de mayo de 2013.– A las 10:15 a.m. un contingente de más de 300 trabajadoras sexuales y trans de la Merced, Tlalpan Veracruz y estado de México, así como un puñado de activistas de Brigada Callejera de Apoyo a la Mujer “Elisa Martínez”, marcharon este primero de mayo rumbo al zócalo capitalino, por las calles de Circunvalación, San Pablo y 20 de noviembre, exigiendo respeto a su trabajo y reconocimiento de sus derechos laborales.

Las participantes, cuestionaron la iniciativa de ley en materia de trata de personas del diputado Manuel Granados Covarrubias, de la VI legislatura del Distrito Federal, que las convierte a todas las trabajadoras sexuales en víctimas o victimarias, y a sus clientes en delincuentes.

Al grupo de inconformes se sumaron feministas –anarquistas de “la sexta” que participaron en el plantón del penal de Santiaguito, cuando l@s pres@s polític@s de Atenco, integrantes de “La otra salud”, “los nadies”, un grupo  de la UAM Xochimilco y medios libres como “Regeneración radio” y “Desinformémonos”.

Algunos carteles elaborados por las trabajadoras sexuales participantes, decían: La esquina es de quien la trabaja. El mayor lenón es el gobierno. Nuestros clientes no son criminales. Ni víctimas ni victimarias. Algunas consignas entonadas, fueron: Mancera escucha, la calle es de quien la lucha. Respeto total, al trabajo sexual. De quién es la esquina? De quien la trabaja.

Al llegar a la plancha del zócalo Elvira Madrid Romero, presidenta de la Brigada Callejera, señaló que no es justo que hayan hecho una ley de trata de personas para el D.F., sin consultar a las trabajadoras sexuales. Añadió que “este primero de mayo marchamos para que se reconozca el trabajo sexual, como un trabajo no asalariado.”. Finalizó su participación diciendo que quien genera que cada vez más mujeres y hombres se dediquen al trabajo sexual o sean víctimas de trata de personas, es el gobierno, con sus reformas laborales, que suprimen los derechos conquistados hace muchos años; y no los clientes de las trabajadoras sexuales.

Krizna, trabajadora sexual transgénero, integrante del taller de periodismo “Aquiles Baeza”, dijo: “que escuchen todos los que marchan este primero de mayo, que el sector de las trabajadoras sexuales, hoy está presente en demanda de que se respete y reconozca este oficio y se eche atrás de iniciativa de  ley del Distrito Federal, en la cual se criminaliza a la trabajadora sexual y al cliente.”

A las 12:30 P.M., terminó la protesta de las trabajadoras sexuales, en tanto llegaban contingentes de trabajadores de diferentes oficios, para quienes este grupo específico no cuenta en su lucha por un México más justo y democrático.

Previo a esta marcha, se llevaron a cabo varias asambleas con trabajadoras sexuales en las oficinas de Brigada Callejera, organización que se dedica a la prevención del VIH/Sida y de la trata de personas. Reuniones que se realizaron por calle y por hotel, en las que varias mujeres expresaron su indignación al expresar que “por qué nos chingan tanto, si el cuerpo es de nosotras”, otra hizo hincapié que si no le piden dinero al gobierno, que tampoco se lo quiten. Además, agregó otra mujer que por un lado nos critican y por el otro nos piden servicios sexuales, los que trabajan en el gobierno.

Today, 26th April, 2013, the UK Zapatista Solidarity Network held a protest at the Embassy of Mexico in London in solidarity with the Zapatista support base (BAZ) community of San Marcos Avilés in the municipality of Chilón, Chiapas, Mexico. The protestors delivered a letter demanding an end to the threats, aggressions and acts of violence being made against this community by members of the Mexican political parties, with the aim of displacing the Zapatistas from their homes and their lands. This is being done, explained members of the Network, with the full support and backing of the Mexican state, in an attempt to put an end to the advances in Zapatista autonomy.

The protest was organised in response to the recent alarming renewal of the threats and acts of harassment, which has led to fears of an imminent attack and eviction. Only this week, a civil caravan for human rights observation and documentation on its way to San Marcos Avilés was threatened with violence by the party supporters. “Blood will flow”, they said, showing the impunity they enjoy.

The report presented by the caravan is shocking. The community has been living through a terrifying nightmare since it was previously displaced in 2010, following an attack with firearms. At this time 170 people, many of them women, children, the sick and the elderly, had to endure 33 days in the open without food or water, sleeping under plastic sheeting. Although they were able to return, their homes had been ransacked and plundered, and they have never felt safe since.

The letter called for an end to the threats and violence against the BAZ, and for a guarantee of their life, safety and human rights. “We will be monitoring events in San Marcos Avilés closely in the following days, and we will hold the governments of Chilon, Chiapas and Mexico responsible for any harm that may befall the BAZ of this community”.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the United Kingdom, people from Bristol, Edinburgh, Essex, Dorset, Manchester, Exeter, Sheffield and Bradford telephoned the Mexican Embassy in London and the Municipal President of Chilón, Leonardo Rafael Guirao Aguilar, who would be the local official responsible for any eviction. The callers expressed their dismay and indignation and called for immediate action to put an end to the violence.

The group ended the protest by saying “We wish through our actions today to send a message of solidarity to our dignified sisters and brothers of San Marcos Avilés. They have our full support.”

At the same time, the members of the group remembered Juan Vázquez Guzmán, ex- Secretary General of the adherents to the Sixth Declaration from the ejido of San Sebastián Bachajón, who was murdered on Wednesday night. A minute of silence was dedicated to his memory outside the Embassy.

Compañeros, by means of this communiqué, we would like to make known to you:

JUAN VÁZQUEZ GUZMÁN.

An active member of the ejido San Sebastián Bachajón; as Adherents to the Other Campaign, we walked beside him for seven years following the sixth declaration of the Lacandon Jungle; after being a member of the organization, he was appointed Secretary General for the three centers on April 18, 2010.

On December 24, 2011, he was arrested by the municipal and judicial police, without even showing him a warrant, when he was entering his house, and he was put in CERESO no 16 in Ocosingo, hours later the commissioner Francisco Guzmán Guzmán arrived, who today is the ex-commissioner, carrying in his hand a folder identifying compañero Juan as leader against the neoliberal project, but thanks to the mobilization of organizations and the intervention of the Human Rights Centre he was released that night at about 12:00 pm and returned home without having to sign any release document or anyone asking his forgiveness or making any apology.

On 26 and 27 November 2011 the compañero Juan Vázquez Guzmán, together with compañero Domingo García Gómez, participated in a workshop of dialogue and reflection at the Indigenous National Congress in San Mateo del Mar (Oaxaca).

And he has followed the protection order (amparo) 274/2011 against the Neoliberal project. And the accompaniment of the three political prisoners from SSB.

He has participated in the forums about political imprisonment and in the demonstrations for the freedom of the Chiapas political prisoners, and for the release of compañero ALBERTO PATISHTÁN and throughout Mexico.

And he has been involved with the compañeras of San Sebastian Bachajón for the defense of the land and the mobilization last May 7, 2011, in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, in the ejido Tila, in Mitzitón and in DF, and the accompaniment of the release of the last 5 political prisoners from San Sebastián Bachajón, he has been part of several video messages for the release of political prisoners and the defense of Mother Earth.

Reciban todos y todas un abrazo fuerte, con rabia, indignación y tristeza
de la parte de los colectivos europeos abajo firmantes.

Acabamos de recibir la noticia del asesinato de Juan Vázquez Guzmán,
ex-Secretario general de los adherentes a la Sexta -lo que fue en su
momento la Otra Campaña – del ejido de San Sebastián Bachajón.

Hemos leído los diferentes mensajes que nos han ido llegando poco a poco y
todos recuerdan al compañero Juan por su gran compromiso y convicción en
la defensa de la tierra y del territorio, por su incesante combate contra
el despojo, pisoteo y saqueo gubernamental de las Cascadas de Agua Azul y
contra la imposición de la Caseta de Cobro. El compañero también se
solidarizó con los presos que fueron callendo poco a poco en la cárcel,
como único mensaje gubernamental posible aparte del asesinato. El vídeo
sobre la lucha por la libertad de los presos de Bachajón y la defensa del
territorio, dio la vuelta al mundo como un ejemplo de rebeldía, de
compromiso y de lucha digna por la tierra, y hoy da la vuelta al mundo de
nuevo para recordarnos que el compa Juan ha sido asesinado.

Que mas podemos esperar del gobierno en turno y de los anteriores, este
asunto ya tiene una larga historia, llena de arbitrariedades y abusos, eso
se recuerda y no se olvida, no se olvida que desde el año de 2007 Juan
Vázquez estaba convencido y comprometido en la defensa de la tierra,
apenas el pasado 17 de abril los ejidatarios de San Sebastián Bachajón,
adherentes a la Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona, denunciaron
públicamente que su territorio es y ha sido amenazado por la política
oficial de despojo territorial bajo el actual gobierno del estado y los
anteriores.

Compañero Juan Vázquez Guzmán, usted aquí sigue presente, su lucha dejo ya
mucho camino andado, dejo surco en la tierra para seguir sembrando
dignidad -eso que el gobierno no entiende, ni entendió, ni entenderá
nunca. Usted aquí sigue y el camino también sigue su curso con la memoria
en alto y el compromiso firme.

Desde aquí compa, le mandamos un abrazo. A su familia, a sus compañeros y
compañeras de camino y de lucha, les mandamos nuestras mas sinceras
condolencias y les reiteramos nuestra solidaridad con su lucha, sepan que
no están solos y no están solas. Aquí estamos compas, estamos mirando
-aunque desde lejos- pero estamos cerca de su dolor. Aquí estamos y
seguiremos denunciando, ya nada se puede ocultar y que le quede bien claro
esto al gobierno de Manuel Velasco Coello, como a todos los anteriores y
los que vengan.

No se desanimen compas, echenle ganas. Reciban nuestras mas sinceras
condolencias llenas de rabia, de compañerismo y de rebeldía.

Para el gobierno y las empresas trasnacionales la única solución a las graves violaciones a los derechos de los pueblos indígenas es la muerte de quienes defienden la tierra y el territorio que han habitado desde tiempos inmemoriales.

Una vez más, el día de hoy, 23 de abril, aproximadamente a las diez y media de la mañana, llegó a la radio comunitaria de Santa María Xadani, un hombre a bordo de una camioneta blanca grande, y con prepotencia se dirigió a una compañera que se encontraba en ese momento en la radio y le preguntó por el compañero Filiberto Vicente Aquino, le dijo que iban por él porque ya estaban hartos de él, la compañera le dijo que no estaba a lo que este hombre le respondió que él es un “Zeta”, y que le dijera al compañero Filiberto Vicente Aquino que lo iba a encontrar.

La compañera defensora de los derechos humanos Bettina Cruz Velázquez sigue siendo hostigada y amenazada, ahora con mayor cinismo, con total impunidad, la casa donde vivía su difunta madre y lugar que sirve de local de la Asamblea en defensa de la Tierra y el Territorio desde hace varios días esta siendo vigilada por varios hombres y mujeres, quienes, por testimonios de vecinos se nos ha informado, están tomando fotos y videos del interior de la casa e incluso se han subido al porton para poder grabar todo el interior del terreno. Se ha reportado que estos hombres tienen los brazos tatuados y que ya llevan varios días vigilando la casa y la oficina de la Asamblea.

Además, al no bastarle al gobierno las amenazas de que la compañera Bettina esta siendo objeto, utiliza a la Comisión Federal de Electricidad para privarla de la energía eléctrica, desde hace tres meses le han cortado la energía eléctrica pasando por alto que ella esta pagando ante un Juez Civil la energía eléctrica que consume, dejándola en vulnerabilidad, creando un ambiente idóneo para cualquier tipo de agresión y el detrimento de su patrimonio. Además esta acción es una clara represión a la resistencia Civil contra las altas tarifas regional y nacional de la cual la compañera es parte desde hace varios años.

Los compañeros defensores de derechos humanos Filiberto Vicente Aquino y Bettina Cruz Velásquez son indígenas zapotecos, originarios de la región, ambos miembros de la Asamblea de Pueblos Indígenas en defensa de la Tierra y el Territorio, comprometidos con la lucha y defensa de sus comunidades.

El hostigamiento y las amenazas cada vez mas constantes y fuertes contra los compañeros y contra todos los que defienden a su pueblo se traduce en una clara responsabilidad para el gobierno mexicano ya que al permitir y dar todo el respaldo a las empresas eólicas para instalarse y cons(des)truir, sin respetar nuestros derechos a la Consulta, a decidir nuestra propia forma de desarrollo, a conservar nuestra cultura y forma de vida, sienta las bases y alimenta el ambiente hostil en la región, convirtiéndose en el autor intelectual de cada una de esas amenazas de muerte en contra de cada hombre y mujer dignos zapotecas ikoots, y mestizos que resisten y luchan en el Istmo de Tehuantepec.

Frayba Urgent Information Note

Ejidatario from The Other Campaign in Bachajón Chiapas is Murdered

The Centre for Human Rights condemns the assassination of Juan Vázquez Guzmán, former Secretary General of the adherents to the Other Campaign (La Sexta) in the ejido of San Sebastián Bachajón, who was noted for his active participation in the defense of Land and Territory against the government plunder of the Agua Azul Waterfalls and the imposition of the Toll Booth at the entrance.

According to information given to this Centre, on Wednesday April 24 at 23:00 pm persons unknown shot Juan Vázquez five times, killing him instantly.

Neighbors say that Juan was attacked just as he was arriving home, the attackers immediately fled in a red van, with a double cab, taking the road to the municipal headquarters of Sitalá, thus also having access to the roads to the municipalities of Ocosingo, Cancúc and Chilón.

Since 2007, Juan Vázquez had been active in the defense of the Land and Territory of San Sebastian Bachajón^one, a situation for which they held an order for legal protection (amparo) which is currently being reviewed in the Third Collegiate Court, based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, under case number 118/2013.

On April 17th the ejidatarios of San Sebastian Bachajón, adherents to the Other Campaign of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle, publicly denounced ^two that their Territory is being threatened by the official policy of territorial dispossession which is continuing under the current  state government.
