The Good Government Council of Oventic and relatives of the Zapatista Base of Support Francisco Sántiz López sent two special messages on the actions for the “Week of Worldwide Struggle for the Freedom of Patishtán and Sántiz López.” The original audios of these texts, read by a representative of the Good Government Council and two relatives of Francisco, appear in full in the new documentary produced by the Movement for Justice of El Barrio, The Other Campaign New York.

We send you warm greetings from El Barrio, New York. Today, we find our hearts full of hope and rebellion due to the news conveyed in this third update on the convocation for the “Week of Worldwide Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López: Bringing Down the Prison Walls” (full convocation below).

First: We have recently been informed by the Junta de Buen Gobierno of Oventic and family members of Francisco Sántiz López, Zapatista support base member, that they will both offer their respective words on the “Week of Worldwide Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López: Bringing Down the Prison Walls.” As soon as we receive their dignified and profound words, we will share them with you all.

The struggle to free our political prisoners, Alberto and Francisco, has undoubtedly been spearheaded by their families and closest comrades. Therefore, the recent responses of the Patishtán and Sántiz López families fill us with the strength and inspiration to continue pressuring the bad government to obey the will of the dignified people, and immediately free our compañeros, Alberto Patishtán Gómez and Francisco Sántiz López.

Second: As we have reported in the previous two updates, every week many countries of the world continue to join our convocation. Upon doing so, they enrich our collective memory, our relationships as communities in resistance, and the call of our compañeros who are imprisoned for fighting for justice. Since the last update, three more countries have announced that they will join us during the Week of Worldwide Struggle. We now confirm the participation of groups and collectives from Canada, New Zealand, and Switzerland, in addition to Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Spain, England, Scotland, the U.S., and Argentina. With each country, state, city, and community that joins, we break down another border wall constructed by the powerful and build a new world in the process.

A través de este comonicado y pido al mandatario Chiapaneco. C. Juan Sabines Guerrero que me tome en cuenta y asi escuche mi petición y brindarle solución inmediata en otorgarme mi libertad inmediata y absolverme por los delitos que me acusan que no es justo que yo pague un delito en la cárcel lo que no debo.

Y asi también como los otros compañeros de la voz del amate asi como Rosario Diaz Mendez preso político de la voz de amate Pedro Lopez Jimenez, Afredo Lopez Jimenez, Alejandro Lopez Santiz, juan Diaz Lopez y Rosa Lopez Diaz, recluido en el cereso num. 5 cinco de san cristobal de las casa Chiapas y Enrique Gomez Hernandez solidario de la voz del amate. Recluido en cereso num. 14 “AMATE” Cintalapa Chiapas. En la isma circunstancia se encuentra privada de su libertad de una manera injustamente que a sido objeto de la detención arbitrarias y abuso de autoridad por parte de la corporaciones policiacas en los tres niveles de gobierno municipales estatales y federales, tanto como pagar “ DEUDAS AJENAS”

Porque están privadas de su libertad por actos de injusticia donde algunos sefueron fabricados de delitos y los hicieron ser responsables en causas penales y en delitos que jamás cometieron es ha base de esto le hago un incapie al mandatario chiapanecos que tome cartas a junta por lo que tanto asi también pido para el compañero Alberto Patishatn Gomez lo que se encuentra recluido en el cereso num. 8 de guasave Sinaloa mexico de la misma manera que es perteneciente de la misma organización preso político de la voz de amate y asi como los otros integrantes que se encuentran en diversas penales en el estado.

Receive greetings and embraces of solidarity from Movement for Justice in El Barrio, The Other Campaign New York. We wish to share with you some very good news in this second update on the convocation to the “Week of Global Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López: Bringing Down the Prison Walls.”

First: In El Bosque, the birthplace and community of Alberto Patishtán Gómez, family members and friends in solidarity with our compañero Professor Patishtán have convened an “Encuentro of Voices” as part of the Week of Global Struggle for the Liberation of Patishtán and Sántiz López. This march-rally will take place on Friday, May 18, at 11 a.m. in the Municipal Plaza of El Bosque, Chiapas, Mexico. Towards that end, they have invited thousands of people from the municipal head of El Bosque and communities from across Chiapas and Mexico, and all good-hearted people from around the world. This Encuentro has touched our hearts. We are full of energy and emotion to continue fighting as hard as possible so that finally our compas, as Alberto’s daughter Gaby Patishtán states in a recent video message, “may be released soon and justice finally reach our families.”

Second: During the past few weeks the response to our convocation has been excellent. We already have confirmed collectives and groups from Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Spain, England, Scotland, the United States, and now, Argentina.

Compas, in light of the abovementioned, it seems clear to us that the moment has arrived, we must continue to strengthen the national and international movement for the immediate and unconditional release of our political prisoners, Alberto Patishtán Gómez and Francisco Sántiz López.

They are imprisoned undoubtedly for their thoughts, for their convictions. We who fight for justice and the liberation of all those from below, we who share these same thoughts and convictions as our brothers Patishtán and Sántiz López, can wait no more. Let’s bring down the walls of injustice! Let’s unite for their freedom!
