The National Indigenous Congress, Indigenous Governing Council, and Zapatista Army for National Liberation denounce the cowardly arrest of our compañero Miguel López Vega, CNI delegate, member of the Zacatepec community radio and of the People’s Front in Defense of the Land and Water of Puebla, Morelos, and Tlaxcala. This arrest was carried out by armed members of the bad government who, without identifying themselves, detained Miguel on a supposed arrest warrant.

The kidnapping of our compañero outside Government Secretariat Offices today, January 24, at 2:30 pm, is the response of those who say they govern this country to the originary people’s determination to prevent the destruction and industrial contamination of the Metlapanapa River. This repression is their answer to being confronted with life where they only saw money soaked in the pain of our people.

As peoples of the CNI-CIG, we voice our opposition to the destruction and privatization of the Metlapanapa River which, along with the other megaprojects of death, aims to subjugate our country with mourning and war.

We demand immediate freedom for our compañero Miguel López Vega.

MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN.–  En la localidad de Ticul es conocido como “el maestro Pedro”. Porque fue profesor en el Centro Educativo José Dolores Rodríguez Tamayo, de 1993 al 2015. Otros se refieren a él como “Lázaro Kan Ek”, alias con el que hizo el proyecto “El canto del Siipkuuts”. Su nombre en documentos es Pedro Regalado Uc Be. Nació el 13 de mayo de 1963 en Buctzotz. La mayor parte de su vida la ha dedicado a la docencia, la promoción cultural y difusión de su lengua materna: la maya.

A Pedro y a su hijo Janil los amenazaron de muerte vía un mensaje de whatsapp el pasado 16 de diciembre de 2019. La agresión vino un día después del “ejercicio participativo ciudadano” organizado por el gobierno federal en Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatán y Quintana Roo respecto al Tren Maya. Pedro piensa que la amenaza es resultado de su trabajo por defender el territorio. Pues el principio de las más de 20 comunidades que integran Múuch’ Xíinbal es ni vender ni rentar la tierra.

Gregorio Hau Caamal, otro integrante de la Asamblea, también fue amenazado de muerte en agosto de ese mismo año. Después de haber interpuesto un amparo contra el megaproyecto fotovoltáico “Yucatán Solar”.

En septiembre del 2019, recibimos la invitación de las compañeras zapatistas: “Queremos que vengas y que digas claro tu denuncia. No para que la escuche un juez, o un policía o un periodista, sino para que la escuche otra mujer, varias mujeres, muchas mujeres que luchan. Y así compañera, hermana y así tu dolor no esté solo y se una con otros dolores y se vuelva como una semilla. Y si ese dolor y rabia se crece en organización, pues se hacen rebeldía y resistencia…”

Un espacio entre neblina, montañas y miradas dignas fue preparado con el esfuerzo y trabajo colectivo de comandantas, choferas, cocineras, tercias compas y milicianas para juntarnos en un lugar seguro, donde poder comer, descansar y encontrarnos. Esos ojos que nos reciben con cariño pero que también nos miran interrogantes ¿Qué has hecho tú en tu geografía para todas nos mantengamos vivas?

La comandanta Amada hizo la inauguración cargando a su hija que dormía envuelta en un rebozo…El corazón se zangolotea. Otra vez el sur inquietante, provocador.  Las milicianas entran formando un espiral alrededor de una niña. Suena la cumbia “17 años”  y es difícil juntar la imagen con la música de fondo (claro que quitaron la parte misógino-pedófila de la canción, solo había música). Cuando acabó, la niña estaba totalmente protegida por sus compañeras.

El primer día fue para escucharnos. Increíble oír tantos dolores. Como si fuera la condición natural femenina ser acosada, violada, asesinada. Podríamos haber hablado durante un mes y no habría sido suficiente. Estábamos ahí escuchando lo que muchas nunca se habían atrevido a decir o que lo dijeron y no les creyeron, o que contaron para luego ser culpadas, culpadas por ser mujeres. Increíble también pensar esta violencia sistémica en los 5 continentes, del tercer al primer mundo, no de la misma manera, ni con la misma intensidad, pero existiendo. Porque la violencia machista es parte esencial del neoliberalismo. Cada vez que habló una, nos miramos en ella, y la carga y la culpa se fueron diluyendo porque nos supimos comprendidas y acompañadas.

En el segundo día hubo propuestas, se reunieron las artistas, las comunicadoras, las maestras, las mujeres que pertenecen a Redes, las trabajadoras sexuales, las mujeres del Estado de México, las viajeras, las mujeres que acompañan a víctimas de feminicidio a pensar juntas cómo le podemos hacer para terminar con la violencia hacia las mujeres. En estos círculos se compartió de manera más específica cómo atraviesa el patriarcado nuestros cuerpos en las diferentes trincheras y geografías. Muchas compartieron cosas que ya hacen en sus colectivos, y otras ofrecieron su ayuda para generar nuevas alternativas. Aquí hubo mucho para pensar, incluso en los desencuentros que, paradójicamente, ocurrieron. Habremos de habilitarnos para la escucha. Habremos, después de esta experiencia, de desaprender lo que no nos deja crear un mundo donde quepan muchos mundos.

Al tercer día, a modo de resurrección femenina, hubo arte. Danzantes, brujas, clowns, teatreras y cantantes nos hicieron llorar, reír, mirarnos en sus personajes, danzar sin miedo mientras algunas muralistas dieron rienda suelta a las pinceladas.

Fueron tres días llenos de muchísima energía que se fueron rápido pero que irán alumbrando lo que la hidra capitalista no deja que miremos y quemando lo que tenga que quemarse allá donde llevemos la lucecita que nos ayudaron a avivar las compas.

Qué duro escuchar tanta realidad tan de golpe pero qué necesario oír nuestros dolores para que el dolor deje de ser el de otra mujer en otro lugar y sea nuestra fuerza junta lo que nos cure. Como dicen las compañeras Zapatistas “…Nadie nos va a conseguir la paz, la libertad, la justicia. Tenemos que luchar, hermana, compañera, luchar y arrebatárselas al mandón”.

INVITATION TO DAYS OF ACTION IN DEFENSE OF TERRITORY AND MOTHER EARTH
“WE ARE ALL SAMIR”

SISTERS AND BROTHERS OF MEXICO AND THE WORLD:

First: Today more than ever, capitalism grows through war and the ongoing dispossession of all forms of life. The bad governments and the big capitalist businesses, all of which can be identified by name, try to disappear our struggles in defense of territory and Mother Earth, even normalizing the murder of our brothers and sisters who defend that territory and our Mother Earth. Today our collective heart hurts for the murders of:

• Samir Flores Soberanes of the Nahua people of Amilcingo, Morelos.
• Julián Cortés Flores, of the Mephaa people of the Casa de Justicia in San Luis Acatlán, Guerrero.
• Ignacio Pérez Girón, of the Tzotzil people of the municipality of Aldama, Chiapas.
• José Lucio Bartolo Faustino, Modesto Verales Sebastián, Bartolo Hilario Morales, and Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote of the Nahua people organized as the Indigenous and Popular Council of Guerrero – Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG – EZ).
• Juan Monroy and José Luis Rosales, of the Nahua people Ayotitlán, Jalisco.
• Feliciano Corona Cirino, of the Nahua people of Santa María Ostula, Michoacán.
• Josué Bernardo Marcial Campo, also known as TíoBad, of the Populuca people of Veracruz.

Our compañeros were murdered for opposing the war the bad government is waging on our lands, hills, and waters in order to consolidate the dispossession which today threatens humanity’s existence.

We also feel the pain of the forced disappearance of our brother Sergio Rivera Hernández, Nahua of the Sierra Negra, Puebla, who also defended land and Mother Earth.

Second: The current neoliberal phase of capitalism takes on ever more monstrous forms, declaring open war on humanity and against the earth, our mother. Economic development today, based everywhere on finance capital and supported by the military and extractivist industries, dominates peoples, nations, and entire continents. It grows through real or fictitious wars and the proliferation of organized crime as well as invasions and coups d’état. Its insatiable consumptive and accumulationist capitalist logic has brought us to the brink of irreversible climate change and a limit at which the very conditions for human life on the planet are at risk.

Third: In addition, the current system’s patriarchal organization, inherited from previous systems and civilizations but deepened over the past several centuries, has been exposed as a violent enemy of humanity as a whole but especially of women and our Mother Earth. In other words, the exploitation of and profound structural violence against women is an integral part of capitalism, although it was born long before. Capitalist private property, the foundation of this system, cannot be explained or understood except as part of a patriarchal system of domination over women and the earth.

Fourth: In Mexico, the acceleration of mining, extraction, and hydrocarbon pipelines, the creation of the National Guard within the logic of the Merida Initiative, and the imposition, at all costs, of major megaprojects (The Salina Cruz – Coatzacoalcos Trans-Isthmus Corridor, The Mayan Train, the Morelos Integrated Project, and the New International Airport in Mexico City)—all of which are intended to reorganize territories, populations, and both the northern and Central American borders in a logic of capitalist displacement and exploitation—make a clearly anti-capitalist and anti-patriarchal defense of human life, of the territories of our peoples, and of the earth all the more urgent. For these reasons:

We invite: the peoples of Mexico and the world; organizations and collectives of workers of the countryside, city, and seas; women; students; children; elders; and those across the range of sexual diversity to:

Compañeras and sisters:

We want to share a few words with you as we close this Second International Gathering of Women Who Struggle.

We have listened to the words and proposals everyone has shared in each of our work sessions as well as other proposals that have been made.

We are going to create a space for all of you to see these ideas and proposals, as well as others that emerge, and offer your own words and opinions. This is for those of you who were able to attend this gathering and have returned to your own geographies with time to think and reflect on what we saw and heard here these last few days, and above all it is for those of you who could not attend.

We think this is important because if we don’t listen to each other as the women that we are, then we aren’t really women who struggle for all women, but only for our own group, idea, or organization and that won’t do at all.

While it may be easy to say that we are going to think about and reflect on these proposals, in reality it is difficult, because even for that process we need to be organized.

With that in mind, we propose this first agreement:

1. We all learn about the proposals made here and make our own proposals regarding violence against women and what we will to do stop this serious problem we have as women.

Altamirano, Chiapas. 31 de diciembre. Ante la guerra de la bestia o capitalismo contra la humanidad, “¿A qué están dispuest@s?”, preguntó esta tarde noche el Subcomandante Moisés, durante el inicio del programa de la celebración del 26 aniversario del levantamiento armado del EZLN, en el caracol zapatista de “Morelia”. Cada un@, en su calendario y geografía, “Háganle saber su respuesta a los patrones y capataces”.

El vocero zapatista compartió que la misma pregunta se la hicieron a las y los integrantes del EZLN, y la respuesta fue que “tod@s están dispuestos a defender a la madre tierra”. Y las interrogantes también fueron para “el capataz”, o gobierno en turno: “¿Los malos gobiernos están dispuestos a destruirnos al costo que sea?”.

“El mandón de hace 26 años, es el mismo que hoy nos desprecia”, aseguró el insurgente chiapaneco, al recordar el levantamiento armado zapatista de 1994.

“Tenemos un proyecto de vida, en educación, salud, y trabajamos la tierra en colectivo, somos comunidad”, aseguró Moisés. Por el contrario, “ha crecido el hambre de la bestia, no le importa destruir civilizaciones completas, incluso el planeta entero. La bestia tiene sus mañas, para convencer dice que sus megaproyectos son el progreso”, evidenció el indígena chiapaneco.

El jefe de las fuerzas armadas del EZLN, recordó que el fallecido luchador social Samir flores, asesinado esta año en Morelos por defender la tierra contra megaproyectos, se cuestionaba “¿Para quién es ese progreso?, ¿para dónde va ese camino que se llama progreso?”. “Samir sabía que ese camino es para la destrucción de la naturaleza y los pueblos originarios. Se resistió y no tuvo miedo. Por esa razón el mal gobierno lo asesinó. El trabajo del capataz es que el mandón tenga su ganancia”, denunció el Subcomandante.

“El capataz siempre está retando a ver quién se opone a su mandato. Tomamos la parte que nos toca de ese reto”, aseguró el Moisés a nombre del Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional (EZLN).

Les enviamos un cordial saludo, recordando que sigue vigente la defensa del lugar sagrado de Wirikuta iniciada en el año 2010 a partir de las amenazas de explotación minera de empresas nacionales y extranjeras (canadienses) en el lugar sagrado de nuestro Pueblo Wixárika, así mismo, siguen vigentes las amenazas de muerte a nuestra cultura milenaria, las amenazas de destrucción a los lugares sagrados del Pueblo Wixárika y las amenazas a quienes defendemos la madre tierra y el territorio.

El 23 de diciembre del 2019, El Pulso de San Luis Potosí ha publicado una nota en el que  “el asesor interno de la unión de ejidos de la región chichimeca Juan Reyes Hernández” acusa a nuestro compañero Santos De la Cruz coordinador de la mesa jurídica, de ser el responsable de la comercialización de peyote en Europa.

El Consejo Regional Wixárika por la Defensa de Wirikuta conformado por las Autoridades Tradicionales, Civiles y agrarias de las Comunidades de Bancos de San Hipólito, municipio de Mezquital, Durango, Santa Catarina Cuexcomatitlán municipio de Mezquitic y San Sebastián Teponahuaxtlán y Tuxpan de los municipios de Mezquitic y Bolaños, Jalisco.

El 21 y 22 de diciembre de 2019, en el nuevo caracol Jacinto Canek, en las instalaciones del Cideci/UniTierra, San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas, se realizó el Foro en Defensa del Territorio y la Madre Tierra, convocado por el Congreso Nacional Indígena, el Concejo Indígena de Gobierno y el Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional.

En el evento estuvieron presentes 435 asistentes y 486 delegados e invitados, sumando un total de 921 personas de 25 estados de la república y de 24 países: Francia, Alemania, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brasil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Reino Unido, Canadá, Chile, Colombia, Dinamarca, Estado Español, Estados Unidos, Italia, Kenia, Perú, Uruguay, Cuba, Suiza, Irlanda, Nueva Zelanda y Portugal.

En el transcurso de esos dos días, las presentaciones de los pueblos y organizaciones a lo largo y ancho del país (además de testimonios de los pueblos originarios de Colombia, del pueblo Mapuche de Chile y de las mujeres Kurdas) constituyeron una valiosísima radiografía de la nación que no se encuentra en otros espacios y mucho menos en el discurso oficial.

El tema común a todas las presentaciones fue lo que muchos denominaron como una guerra del capital contra los pueblos originarios, por medio de megaproyectos que arrasan con el territorio y la Madre Tierra: extracción de hidrocarburos (incluyendo el devastador método de fractura hidráulica o fracking), gaseoductos, hidroeléctricas, termoeléctricas, eólicas, minería, agroindustria, megaproyectos turísticos, así como el corredor interoceánico en el Istmo de Tehuantepec y el mal llamado Tren Maya.

El resultado de esta ofensiva del capital ha sido el despojo de territorios, la contaminación de tierras y aguas, el desplazamiento forzado de poblaciones y la amenaza no sólo a la supervivencia material de los pueblos, sino también a sus formas de vida, sus culturas, sus tradiciones, sus lenguas, su cosmovisión.

El 19 de diciembre de 2019 concluyó la IV Asamblea Nacional del Congreso Nacional Indígena – Concejo Indígena de Gobierno y el Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional. Después de dos días de deliberaciones a puerta cerrada, se realizó la plenaria abierta, en el Caracol Jacinto Canek, Cideci/UniTierra, en San Cristóbal de Las Casas.

Chiapas, México. 22 de diciembre. “Nos costó entender qué es autonomía. Al principio nos preguntábamos cómo caminar la autonomía. No tuvimos ningún manual para lograrla. El único manual fueron los problemas que fuimos enfrentando”, compartieron las Bases de Apoyo del EZLN (BAEZLN), a sus compañeros del Congreso Nacional Indígena (CNI), durante el segundo día del foro “en Defensa del Territorio y la Madre Tierra”, en el caracol zapatista de Jacinto Canek, en san Cristóbal de las Casas. “Nos llevó 26 años formar nuestra propia autonomía; con ley o sin ley la formamos”, agregaron las y los zapatistas del caracol de “La Garrucha”.

El base de apoyo Nico, también de La Garrucha, expuso que tuvieron que pensarle mucho y formular muchas ideas, para posteriormente esa organización asumirla en la práctica. Para lograr la autonomía rompimos con el poder político, recordó el BAEZLN, “ahora el pueblo manda y el gobierno obedece”, aseguró.

Lidia, mujer zapatista también de la Garrucha, evidenció que el capitalismo engaña diciendo que democracia es una credencial para votar. “Nosotros los zapatistas no ocupamos dinero ni credenciales para elegir nuestro gobierno autónomo, nos reunimos en asambleas y elegimos la opción más buena y la mandamos a los pueblos para ser analizadas. Todos opinamos y nos regimos por los 7 principios del mandar obedeciendo”, afirmó Lidia.
