ALTO A LA GUERRA NARCOPARAMILITAR CONTRA EL CIPOG-EZ
Comunicado urgente del CNI-CIG y el EZLN

Hoy, con indignación y dolor denunciamos un nuevo y artero crimen contra nuestros compañeros del Consejo Indígena y Popular de Guerrero – Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG-EZ).

Alrededor de las 13:30 horas del día 23 de mayo, en las inmediaciones de Chilapa, Guerrero, fueron privados de la libertad nuestros compañeros Bartolo Hilario Morales e Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote, ambos integrantes de la Policía Comunitaria en las comunidades nahuas de Tula y Xicotlán, el primero de ellos comandante, ambos promotores del CIPOG–EZ y miembros del Congreso Nacional Indígena, quienes fueron encontrados sin vida y descuartizados el día de ayer 24 de mayo.

Este artero crimen se suma al reciente asesinato de los compañeros Lucio Bartolo Faustino y Modesto Verales Sebastián, concejal y delegado del CNI-CIG, por lo que denunciamos la política de terror que los grupos narco paramilitares, con la ayuda descarada de los tres niveles del mal gobierno, están implementando en contra de los hermanos del CIPOG-EZ y todos los territorios indígenas de México. En el presente caso el perpetrador de tan terrible crimen fue el Grupo Paz y Justicia, ligado a los Ardillos, quien cuenta con la complicidad del Ejército Federal.

Los pueblos, naciones, tribus y barrios indígenas, estamos resistiendo no solo a los megaproyectos con los que los dueños del poder se apropian de la naturaleza y la tierra, también en contra de la muerte, miedo y desolación que sus grupos armados imponen en todo el país. Aunque tengan la camisa de los Rojos, los Ardillos o las fuerzas represivas del mal gobierno, el poder del dinero y la ambición por hacerlo ganancias basadas en el sufrimiento de los pueblos, los hace uno mismo. Construir esa paz y autonomía para los pueblos de Chilapa y la región es el horizonte por el que luchan nuestros hermanos asesinados por el capitalismo neoliberal.

Por eso siguen luchando nuestros compañeros, porque su semilla germina en la determinación de los pueblos, que junto con nuestra madre tierra, no nos rendimos, no nos vendemos ni claudicamos en la batalla por no desaparecer de la historia en medio de la destrucción total. Su lucha, su palabra y determinación la haremos crecer en la conciencia colectiva de los que soñamos y luchamos un nuevo mundo.

Exigimos que cese la represión en contra del CIPOG-EZ, justicia para nuestros hermanos Bartolo Hilario Morales, Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote, Bartolo Faustino y Modesto Verales Sebastián, justicia para los pueblos dignos de Guerrero.

STOP THE NARCO-PARAMILITARY WAR AGAINST THE CIPOG-EZ
Urgent Communique from the CNI-CIG and the EZLN

Today with pain and rage we denounce a new and insidious crime against our compañeros of the Popular Indigenous Council of Guerrero-Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG-EZ).

At approximately 1:30 pm on May 23, near Chilapa, Guerrero, our compañeros Bartolo Hilario Morales and Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote were taken captive. Both were members of the CIPOG-EZ, the National Indigenous Congress, and the Community Police of the Nahua communities of Tula and Xicotlán, with the former serving as Community Police Captain. They were found dead and quartered on May 24.

This crime follows the recent murder of our compañeros Lucio Bartolo Faustino and Modesto Verales Sebastián, council member and delegate respectively of the CNI-CIG. We denounce the politics of terror applied by narco-paramilitary groups, with the shameless support of all three levels of bad government, against our brothers and sisters of the CIPOG-EZ and against all of the indigenous territories of Mexico. In this case, the terrible crime was perpetrated by the “Grupo Paz y Justicia”, who are connected to “Los Ardillos”, who in turn rely on the complicity of the Federal Army.

We as indigenous peoples, nations, tribes, and barrios resist not only the megaprojects used by the owners of power to appropriate land and nature, but also the death, fear, and desolation imposed by their armed groups throughout the country. Whether they wear the uniform of “Los Rojos,” “Los Ardillos,” or the repressive forces of the bad government, the power of money and ambition to profit off the suffering of our peoples make them one and the same. Our brothers were murdered by neoliberal capitalism in their struggle to create peace and autonomy for the peoples of Chilapa and the broader region.

This is why our compañeros continue to resist, because that seed of struggle comes from the determination of our peoples who, along with our mother earth, will not give up, give in, or sell out in the battle to not disappear from history in the midst of this total destruction. We will make their struggle, their word, and their determination grow in the collective conscience of those of us who dream of and struggle for a new world.

We demand an immediate halt to the repression against the CIPOG-EZ, justice for our brothers Bartolo Hilario Morales, Isaías Xanteco Ahuejote, Bartolo Faustino, and Modesto Verales Sebastián, and justice for the dignified peoples of Guerrero.
