(Español) Audios del segundo encuentro por la resistencia Global Autónoma.
Valles Centrales, Oaxaca, 25 de noviembre de 2018.- “Se nos ocurrió dar vida a algo como este encuentro por la Resistencia Global Autónoma, en donde lo local se encuentra y reflexiona con lo internacional, en donde los colectivos debaten con pueblos y organizaciones, en donde las mujeres se reconocen iguales y diferentes entre las del campo y la ciudad, entre güeras y morenas, entre territorios verdes a defender y territorios urbanos a liberar.” Son las palabras con las que la Plataforma Internacionalista por la Resistencia y la Autogestión Tejiendo Autonomías – PIRATA, abrió la mesa de Compartición de Resistencias durante el Segundo Encuentro por la Resistencia Global Autónoma, realizado en la cede de las Organizaciones Indias por los Derechos Humanos en Oaxaca – OIDHO, en los Valles Centrales de Oaxaca, México.
“Les hablamos compañeras y compañeros desde la angustia de vivir y luchar en países donde se ha vuelto común linchar al pobre y al migrante, culpar a la mujer misma por ser violada y asesinada, criminalizar al trabajador en huelga, ridiculizar al estudiante que toma la calle. Una Europa en donde mucha gente aplaude los delirios nacionalistas y racistas de sus gobernantes, añorando dictaduras feroces. El coraje es mucho y el desafío es enorme. A veces la lucha es sólo sobrevivir y defender los espacios conquistados en otros tiempos. Pero si levantamos la mirada y buscamos bien en los valles y montes del presente, también miramos que allá donde la violencia enemiga ha sido más brutal (como en Siria y en Medio Oriente) es justo donde las flores están brotando y la revolución crece, aun con tropiezos y dificultad y mucha sangre derramada. Igual mirando acá entre la dignidad antigua de los pueblos indígenas, donde el desprecio y el racismo ha sido de lo más humillante, vemos que la organización no deja de reproducirse y crecer, a pesar de tantos asesinatos. Será dura, compañeros y compañeras. Siempre lo supimos. Pero será. Cerramos nuestra pequeña reflexión con un pensamiento fuerte a todas las mujeres que cayeron en la guerra del patriarcado, invitando a la autodefensa integral ante la violencia machista. Reiteramos la bienvenida y pasamos la palabra a estas luchas que, en todo el mundo, mantienen cargado de vida y rebeldía el porvenir.”

Noam Chomsky: Members of Migrant Caravan Are Fleeing from Misery & Horrors Created by the U.S.
As President Trump escalated his attacks and threats against the Central American migrant caravans making their way to the U.S.-Mexico border, the Trump administration unveiled new sanctions against Venezuela and Cuba on Thursday. National security adviser John Bolton declared Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua to be part of a “troika of tyranny” and a “triangle of terror.” We speak with world-renowned professor, linguist and dissident Noam Chomsky about U.S. foreign policy in Central America. He joins us in Tucson, Arizona, where he now teaches at the University of Arizona. Chomsky is also institute professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he has taught for 50 years.

JOHN BOLTON: We will no longer appease dictators and despots near our shores. We will not reward firing squads, torturers and murderers. We will champion the independence and liberty of our neighbors. And this president and his entire administration will stand with the freedom fighters. The troika of tyranny in this hemisphere—Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua—has finally met its match.
AMY GOODMAN: As John Bolton spoke in Miami on Thursday, Democracy Now!‘s Nermeen Shaikh and I spoke with the world-renowned professor, linguist and dissident Noam Chomsky. He joined us from Tucson, Arizona, where he now teaches at the University of Arizona. Noam Chomsky is also institute professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he’s taught for more than 50 years. His recent books include Global Discontents: Conversations on the Rising Threats to Democracy, Who Rules the World? and Requiem for the American Dream: The 10 Principles of Concentration of Wealth & Power.
