Caravana en San Marcos Avil\u00e9s recibe amenazas de partidistas, quienes dicen:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201ccorrer\u00e1 sangre\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n Seg\u00fan informaci\u00f3n con la que contamos hasta el momento, los partidistas de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s han amenazado a la \u201cCaravana Civil de Observaci\u00f3n de Derechos Humanos a San Marcos Avil\u00e9s de la Red por la Paz en Chiapas\u201d con quitarles los veh\u00edculos que seg\u00fan informaci\u00f3n dijeron: \u201csi no los entregan a la buena ser\u00e1 a la mala y si corre sangre va a correr sangre\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n Como Centro de Derechos Humanos exigimos la pronta e inmediata intervenci\u00f3n del gobierno de Chiapas para proteger y garantizar la integridad personal de los defensores y defensoras de derechos humanos de la caravana civil.<\/p>\n Finalmente solicitamos a la sociedad civil nacional e internacional que est\u00e9 al tanto de la situaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n Antecedentes:<\/strong><\/p>\n \n Urgent note: Caravan to San Marcos Avil\u00e9s receives threats from political party supporters<\/strong><\/p>\n Fray Bartolom\u00e9 de las Casas Human Rights Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas<\/p>\n April 22, 2013<\/p>\n Urgent Note<\/p>\n Caravan to San Marcos Avil\u00e9s receives threats from political party supporters who say: “Blood will flow”.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to information we have received up to now, the political party supporters of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s have threatened the “Network for Peace in Chiapas Civil Caravan for Human Rights Observation in San Marcos Avil\u00e9s” with taking away their vehicles; according to information they said:\u00a0“If you do not hand them over quietly it will be the worse for you, and if blood is going to flow, then blood will flow\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n As a Human Rights Centre we demand the prompt and immediate intervention of the Chiapas government to protect and ensure the integrity of the human rights defenders from the civil caravan.<\/p>\n Finally we ask national and international civil society to keep abreast of the situation.<\/p>\n Background:<\/strong><\/p>\n Civil Mission in Chiapas in response to threats to EZLN support bases <\/strong><\/p>\n Hermann Bellinghausen<\/p>\n La Jornada San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, April 20<\/p>\n Members of the Network for Peace in Chiapas have reported that this Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd<\/sup> April, they will undertake a civil mission of observation and documentation to the community of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, in the municipality of Chil\u00f3n, \u201cin order to collect \u00a0testimonies, following recent threats to forcibly displace the support bases of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN), made by the inhabitants of the same ejido who are affiliated to different political parties.\u201d<\/p>\n The 10 civil agencies involved in the action, who have repeatedly expressed their concerns about the Zapatista population of this community, said they also hope to meet with the municipal president of Chil\u00f3n, Rafael Leonardo Guirao Aguilar, and the government delegate for the area, Nabor Orozco Ferrer.<\/p>\n They also called on human rights defenders, the media and the public \u201cto remain alert as to what might happen in the context of the mission\u201d.
