A todas y a todos nuestr@s compa\u00f1er@s, les hacemos llegar saludos y abrazos calurosos de parte de Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio, La Otra Campa\u00f1a Nueva York.<\/p>\n

Por medio de una declaraci\u00f3n reciente, Noam Chomsky, el escritor, ling\u00fcista, e intelectual de renombre mundial, expresa su apoyo p\u00fablico para la campa\u00f1a \u201cEco Mundial en Apoyo a l@s Zapatistas.\u201d La nueva campa\u00f1a, la cual se ha expandido a trav\u00e9s de varias ciudades y comunidades del mundo, busca movilizar el apoyo y solidaridad para la comunidades bases de apoyo zapatista de Comandante Abel, Uni\u00f3n Hidalgo, San Marcos Avil\u00e9s y Mois\u00e9s Gandhi \u2013 que actualmente enfrentan agresi\u00f3nes por parte de grupos de choque locales, apoyado por el gobierno \u2013 y para el preso pol\u00edtico zapatista, Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, quien desde diciembre del 2011 queda encarcelado injustamente bajo acusaciones falsas. Estos ataques provienen de la ola actual de represi\u00f3n gubernamental en contra del movimiento zapatista que ya cuenta con miles de comunidades ind\u00edgenas en resistencia por todo el estado de Chiapas.<\/p>\n

Como escribe Chomsky:<\/p>\n

\u201cEs muy alarmante enterarse de los ataques actuales, y planeados, en contra de la Comunidad Aut\u00f3noma Zapatista de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s y en particular en contra del preso pol\u00edtico zapatista Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez. Me gustar\u00eda unirme en apoyo a la campa\u00f1a \u201cEcho Mundial en Apoyo a l@s Zapatistas,\u201d y a tod@s l@s que valientemente se levantan para oponerse a la represi\u00f3n, y a tod@s l@s que reclaman justicia y libertad para las comunidades amenazadas y personas sufriendo persecuciones y amenazas graves.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a recent statement the world-renowned writer, linguist, and political commentator, Noam Chomsky, issues his public support for the campaign \u201cWorldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas.\u201d The campaign, which has rapidly spread throughout cities and communities around the globe, seeks to mobilize support and solidarity for the Zapatista support bases of the Comandante Abel, Uni\u00f3n Hidalgo, San Marcos Avil\u00e9s and Mois\u00e9s Gandhi communities currently suffering severe aggression at the hands of local, government-backed attack groups – and the Zapatista political prisoner, Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, who has remained unjustly imprisoned since December 2011 under false charges. These attacks stem from the current wave of government repression against the Zapatista movement, which encompasses thousands of indigenous communities in resistance throughout the Mexican state of Chiapas. <\/p>\n

As Chomsky writes:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very disturbing to learn of the attacks underway, and planned, against the Autonomous Zapatista Community of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s and in particular against the Zapatista political prisoner Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez. I would like to join in support of the campaign \u201cWorldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas,\u201d and of all of those who are standing up courageously to oppose the repression, and who are calling for justice and freedom for the endangered communities and individuals subjected to persecution and serious threats.\u201d<\/p>\n
