CONVOCATORIA MUNDIAL POR L@S ZAPATISTAS DE COMANDANTE ABEL, UNION HIDALGO, SAN MARCOS AVIL\u00c9S, MOIS\u00c9S GANDHI Y FRANCISCO S\u00c1NTIZ L\u00d3PEZ<\/strong><\/p>\n ECO MUNDIAL EN APOYO A L@S ZAPATISTAS A nuestr@s hermanas y hermanos de Comandante Abel: La presente es una urgente convocatoria propuesta por el Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio, La Otra Campa\u00f1a Nueva York para realizar:<\/p>\n Segunda Etapa: Hermanas y hermanos:<\/p>\n A todas y a todos nuestr@s compa\u00f1er@s, les hacemos llegar saludos y abrazos calurosos de parte de Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio, La Otra Campa\u00f1a Nueva York.<\/p>\n En respuesta a la demanda global por justicia para las comunidades zapatistas provocada por los ataques reci\u00e9n realizados en contra de las bases de apoyo zapatistas (BAZ) por el mal gobierno y sus manadas de muerte, es con ansiedad y dolor ancho en nuestro pecho que escribimos las siguientes palabras para su consideraci\u00f3n inmediata: Por ello, nuestr@s compas de las Juntas de Buen Gobierno y las comunidades mismas han hecho varias denuncias y llamados a que se manifieste la solidaridad mundial organizando acciones contra el mal gobierno de M\u00e9xico en todos sus niveles.<\/p>\n A luz de esto, y ya que la amenaza de desplazamiento forzado sigue colgada sobre la comunidad de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, se nos exige que sumemos y juntemos nuestras voces y manos para prevenir que otra agresi\u00f3n se realice en contra de l@s compas de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s.<\/p>\n Si piensan los de arriba que pueden seguir con su guerra y violencia en contra de nuestr@s hermanas y hermanos zapatistas sin consecuencia alguna, est\u00e1n equivocados. Esta vez los pueblos dignos del mundo tendr\u00e1n la palabra. Si aceptan esta siguiente propuesta, favor de avisarnos lo m\u00e1s pronto posible, envi\u00e1ndonos un correo al Para su referencia, invitamos a tod@s a que lean la primera convocatoria, difundida el 25 de julio, para estar al tanto de los avances y etapas en esta campa\u00f1a. La convocatoria en su totalidad, junto a m\u00e1s materiales, est\u00e1 disponible en este enlace: Primero, a todas y todos l@s que le dan luz y ox\u00edgeno a esta campa\u00f1a mundial que por m\u00e1s de un mes, junt@s y unid@s, hemos venido formando, les damos las gracias por haber compartido este camino que andamos y que queda por andar.<\/p>\n Desde su inicio a fines de julio, cuando se dio a conocer su primera convocatoria, esta campa\u00f1a internacional \u201cEco Mundial en Apoyo a l@s Zapatistas\u201d ha sido un punto de encuentro para miles de personas de buen coraz\u00f3n quienes han acogido el llamado de l@s zapatistas.<\/p>\n Sobre este punto de encuentro, adem\u00e1s, se han organizado en varios pa\u00edses del mundo docenas de c\u00e9lulas llamadas \u201cComit\u00e9s de la Palabra Verdadera\u201d para construir redes de solidaridad y respaldo y levantar la conciencia del p\u00fablico acerca de la represi\u00f3n que enfrentan las comunidades zapatistas y el preso pol\u00edtico zapatista Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez. Conjuntamente tod@s nos hemos puesto a trabajar en, utilizando una frase del sabio Viejo Antonio, \u201ccaminar la palabra verdadera\u201d \u2014 organiz\u00e1ndonos en nuestros respectivos pueblos, ejidos, comunidades, barrios, y pa\u00edses para sembrar las palabras de las bases de apoyo zapatistas y Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez como semillas para crecer as\u00ed una lucha en su pro.<\/p>\n M\u00e1s y m\u00e1s personas nos encontramos cada d\u00eda buscando y encontr\u00e1ndonos en la oscuridad de mentiras y apat\u00eda que han construido los de arriba para mantenernos dividid@s. A tientas nos vamos buscando por esta oscuridad con la que, d\u00eda tras d\u00eda, vamos arramblando. Como dicen nuestros antepasados, nuestras palabras colectivas contienen lo imprescindible de la vida en este planeta: la memoria \u2013 y una vez dichas y compartidas, se vuelven una fogata. Para prevenir que esto suceda \u2013 que con las manos entrelazadas salgamos de esta oscuridad \u2013 los de arriba se dedican a destruir todas las luces que hacen los pueblos dignos. Por esto despliegan sus estrategias de violencia y destrucci\u00f3n, y nos atacan, encarcelan, reprimen, agreden, violan, roban, callan, y mienten.<\/p>\n Por ello los de arriba, desde que lleg\u00f3 esta noche, han tenido como blanco principal a los pueblos originarios del mundo, ya que han hecho aportaciones importantes al respecto.<\/p>\n Ante esta amenaza de extinci\u00f3n planetaria, nos urge movilizarnos para defender esta y todas las luces que brillan en nuestro camino en construcci\u00f3n hacia otro mundo posible. Y como la palabra fue y es la primera forma de luz, nos urge defender las tres primeras palabras de todas las lenguas que, seg\u00fan cuenta el Viejo Antonio, son \u201cdemocracia, libertad, justicia.\u201d<\/p>\n No es casualidad que estas palabras no se encuentran en los gobiernos, c\u00e1rceles, escuelas, medios de comunicaci\u00f3n masivos, o las dem\u00e1s instituciones sirviendo los privilegios de los de arriba. M\u00e1s no es casualidad que aquellas s\u00ed se encuentran, de numerosas y distintas maneras, en los pueblos dignos de abajo, en especial los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de M\u00e9xico y del mundo. Mientras los de arriba siguen atacando y destruyendo estas luces, nosotr@s seguiremos defendiendo y construyendo m\u00e1s luces, m\u00e1s salidas, m\u00e1s mundos.<\/p>\n Aunque todo lo que hace que la noche oscurezca lo usan los de arriba para mantenerla oscura, y a nosotr@s dividid@s \u2013 en una palabra: la mentira \u2013 nosotr@s traemos en el coraz\u00f3n lo que hace que la luz ilumine\u2026 Esto se llama la verdad. As a direct consequence of the invasions and violence of the attack groups \u201cPeace and Justice\u201d and the Regional Coffee Growers Organization of Ocosingo (Orcao), which operate in paramilitary fashion and as coyotes of the bad government, there are displaced BAZ populations, destruction and theft of food and personal belongings, and profound suffering.<\/p>\n As such, our compas from the Juntas de Buen Gobierno (Good Government Councils) and the affected communities have issued numerous denouncements and have urgently called for the mobilization of global solidarity actions targeting all levels of the bad government of Mexico.<\/p>\n In light of this, and given the continued threat of forced displacement hanging over San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, it is incumbent upon us to add and bring together all of our hands and voices to prevent another act of aggression from happening against our compas from San Marcos Avil\u00e9s.<\/p>\n If those from above believe that they can continue waging their violent war against our Zapatista sisters and brothers without repercussions, they are deeply mistaken. This time around, the dignified peoples of the world will have their say.<\/p>\n Before the growing global demand for justice and an end to the current and possible attacks, and in order to expand the reach of the ongoing activities taking place as part of the current First Phase of our Campaign: \u201cWalking the True Word\u201d, which will continue until October 11, we are writing to you to propose that we join forces once more to carry out the Second Phase: \u201cFrom Truth to Action, Stopping the Repression.\u201d This new phase will be different from the current first one \u2013 which aims to raise awareness in our communities about the dire situation that our Zapatista compas of Comandante Abel, Uni\u00f3n Hidalgo, San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, and Mois\u00e9s Gandhi, and the Zapatista political prisoner, Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, are facing \u2013 in that it will be a period of direct action and protest from October 12 to November 17. As you will understand, these dates were chosen for their great significance in the history of indigenous struggles throughout the world: the Day of Indigenous Resistance and the anniversary of the Birth of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).<\/p>\n If you would like to join our efforts and accept our proposal, please let us know as soon as possible by sending an e-mail to: For further background and to keep up-to-date with the phases and developments in this campaign, we invite everyone to read the first call to action, released on July 25, which is available here: First and foremost, we would like to thank all the people who are continuing to give light and life to this worldwide campaign, which for over a month now we have been creating and shaping together. Thank you for sharing this path with us and for continuing to walk alongside us.<\/p>\n Since its beginning at the end of July, when the first call to action was released, the \u201cWorldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas\u201d International Campaign has been a meeting point for thousands of people of good heart who have responded to the call of the Zapatistas for support and solidarity.<\/p>\n In addition, in many countries, solidarity cells called \u201cCommittees of the True Word\u201d have been organized around this meeting point, and are continuing to build support networks and raise public awareness about the repression currently being faced by the Zapatista communities and the Zapatista political prisoner S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n More of these \u201cCommittees\u201d continue to be set up every day, as more groups and people of good conscience join the campaign.<\/p>\n Together, we have all started the work of, to borrow a phrase from the wise Old Antonio, \u201cwalking the true word\u201d, by organizing in our respective communities, ejidos, towns, neighborhoods, and countries to sow the words of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s and Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez like seeds which will grow, in their turn, into a struggle to support them.<\/p>\n More and more people are finding each other every day, seeking and meeting in the darkness and obscurity of lies and indifference which those from above have constructed in order to keep us divided. Fumbling in the dark, we continue to meet each other, and searching, day after day, for a way to break through into the light. As our ancestors say, our collective words contain the essence of life on this planet: memory \u2013 and, once spoken and shared, our words become fire.<\/p>\n We remember that this darkness was both born in and gave rise to, that time the EZLN describe as \u201cthe long night of those 500 years.\u201d While the political, economic, cultural, and social systems of those from above continue to move our lives and Mother Earth closer towards total extinction, the resistances of those from below continue to build other exits to escape this obscurity.<\/p>\n To prevent us from joining hands and rising from this darkness, those from above have committed to douse out all the lights radiating from dignified people. This is why they are deploying their strategies of violence and destruction, and are attacking, imprisoning, repressing, assaulting, violating, robbing, silencing, and lying to us.<\/p>\n This is also why those from above, those who have created this long night, have chosen as their main target the indigenous peoples of the world, who have made such significant contributions to the struggle against the darkness.<\/p>\n Faced with this threat of planetary extinction, we must mobilize urgently to defend each and every light that illuminates our path towards the construction of another possible world. And as the True Word was and is the first form of light, it is vital that we defend those words which Old Antonio tells us were the first three in every language: \u201cdemocracy, freedom, justice.\u201d<\/p>\n It is no coincidence that these three words cannot be found in the governments, jails, schools, mass media, or the other institutions serving the privileges of those from above. Nor is it a coincidence that these same three words are alive, in many different ways, among the dignified people from below, especially the indigenous people of Mexico and the world. \nNos acordamos que esta oscuridad naci\u00f3 en, como el EZLN mismo dijo, \u201cla larga noche de los 500 a\u00f1os,\u201d y a la vez la pari\u00f3. \nPara defender de manera concreta a la luz de l@s zapatistas, cuya lucha siempre ha sido por y para los pueblos ind\u00edgenas y para l@s que no lo son, un movimiento ind\u00edgena ejemplar, invitamos a tod@s a que se sumen a esta campa\u00f1a, una vez m\u00e1s, para realizar la segunda etapa, que consistir\u00e1 en un mes de acciones directas y estrat\u00e9gicas.

\n\u2022 Comandante Abel: Empezando los d\u00edas 6 y 7 de septiembre y hasta la fecha, el grupo paramilitar \u201cPaz y Justicia\u201d realiza una invasi\u00f3n armada a territorio zapatista del ejido Comandante Abel (BAZ). Como resultado, violentamente se desplaz\u00f3 la comunidad y se desaparecieron algunas personas que buscaban huir de la violencia. Much@s se encuentran enferm@s.
