Para eso, l@s invitamos a que firmen esta declaraci\u00f3n mundial en apoyo a la lucha digna de las bases de apoyo zapatistas de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s y el preso pol\u00edtico zapatista Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez. Adem\u00e1s, exigimos la liberaci\u00f3n inmediata del preso pol\u00edtico zapatista Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez que, desde diciembre del 2011, est\u00e1 encarcelado debido a un abuso flagrante de justicia.<\/p>\n<p>Respondiendo a las numerosas denuncias y llamados hechos por la Junta de Buen Gobierno Zapatista de Oventic, y de la comunidad de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, por medio de la presente, damos a conocer nuestra solidaridad con nuestr@s hermanos y hermanas all\u00e1 y con Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez tambi\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<p>Nosotr@s conocemos las nuevas amenazas graves hechas en contra de la comunidad de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s por representantes de los partidos pol\u00edticos regionales estos \u00faltimos d\u00edas. De las m\u00e1s preocupantes incluyen las amenazas abiertas y descaradas de desplazamiento y de violencia f\u00edsica, igual que el clima de hostilidad que \u00e9stos promueven. Consideramos que esta agresi\u00f3n condenable es muy grave, especialmente a luz de los eventos ocurridos en septiembre del 2010, cuando vigilantes de los partidos PVEM, PRI, y PRD, encabezados por Lorenzo Ruiz G\u00f3mez y Vicente Ruiz L\u00f3pez, atacaron a las bases de apoyo zapatistas, desplazando a 170 personas y destruyendo sus milpas y propiedades. <\/p>\n<p>En relaci\u00f3n al caso de Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, base de apoyo zapatista del ejido de Banavil, Tenejapa, quien fue detenido en diciembre 2011 bajo acusaciones falsas de que dirigi\u00f3 un enfrentamiento en Banavil, afirmamos la evidencia colectada por el Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolom\u00e9 de Las Casas y contada por varios testigos, que \u00e9l nunca estuvo presente en el lugar donde lo ocurrido se di\u00f3 el 4 de diciembre del 2011. Su encarcelamiento falso y la denegaci\u00f3n de parte de las autoridades locales a examinar dicha evidencia, para nosotr@s, indican m\u00e1s que el sistema jur\u00eddico en Chiapas se usa realmente como una herramienta pol\u00edtica para reprimir a l@s que luchan por justicia.<\/p>\n<p>En cuanto a los eventos actuales en San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, exigimos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Que se paren de inmediato todas las amenazas de muerte, el hostigamiento verbal y f\u00edsico, y las amenazas en contra de la propiedad y el bienestar de las bases de apoyo zapatistas a manos de los integrantes de partidos pol\u00edticos en el ejido San Marcos Avil\u00e9s;<\/li>\n<li>Que se proteja la vida y seguridad de las bases de apoyo zapatistas de San Marcos Avil\u00e9s;<\/li>\n<li>Que se respete su derecho innegable a la autonom\u00eda como pueblos ind\u00edgenas, ya que \u00e9ste lo consagran al nivel internacional el convenio No. 169 de la OIT y la Declaraci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos de los Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas, de los cuales ambos han sido firmados por el gobierno de M\u00e9xico.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Con respeto al caso del base de apoyo zapatista Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, exigimos su liberaci\u00f3n inmediata e incondicional, y que se realize una investigaci\u00f3n sin demora y que procesen a los culpables de la violencia en Banavil, Municipio de Tenejapa, Chiapas.<\/p>\n<p>A nuestr@s hermanos y hermanas que padecen la injusticia y violencia en Chiapas, les decimos que su lucha no se lleva a cabo en silencio, tampoco es invisible. Al contrario, hay incontables personas, organizaciones, y comunidades de todas partes del mundo que quedan atentos a su situaci\u00f3n y se han sumado a una campa\u00f1a internacional en solidaridad con su lucha. Por nuestra parte, desde varias ciudades de todas partes del mundo, les env\u00edamos un abrazo caluroso y les avisamos que sabemos quienes son y que es lo que buscan, y afirmamos aqu\u00ed que haremos todo lo posible para apoyarl@s a ustedes. We also call for the immediate liberation of the Zapatista political prisoner Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, who has been jailed since December 2011 in a flagrant abuse of justice.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the numerous denouncements and calls issued by the Zapatista Good Government Junta of Oventic and the community of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, we manifest in this declaration our solidarity with our brothers and sisters there, as well as with Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n<p>We are aware of the very serious new threats being made against the community of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s by representatives of political parties in the area. Of particular concern are the open and blatant threats of displacement, physical violence, and the on-going climate of hostility promoted by these individuals. We consider such reprehensible aggression to be extremely serious in light of the events of September 2010, when vigilantes from the Green Ecological Party of Mexico (PVEM), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), led by Lorenzo Ruiz G\u00f3mez and Vicente Ruiz L\u00f3pez, attacked Zapatista support bases, displacing 170 people and destroying their property and crops.<\/p>\n<p>In relation to the case of Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, a Zapatista support base from the Banavil ejido of Tenejapa, who was originally detained in December 2011 under false charges of having orchestrated a conflict in Banavil, we affirm the evidence collected by the Fray Bartolom\u00e9 de Las Casas Human Rights Centre and recounted by several witnesses, that he indeed was not present at the location where the events took place on 4th December 2011. His false imprisonment and the continued refusal of local authorities to examine this evidence are, in our view, further indication that the judicial system in Chiapas is wielded as tool of political repression against those who struggle for justice.<\/p>\n<p>In respect to current events in San Marcos Avil\u00e9s, we demand:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An immediate end to all death threats, verbal and physical harassment, and threats against the property and well-being of the Zapatista Support Base members by elements of the political parties in the San Marcos Avil\u00e9s ejido<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Protection for the life and safety of the Zapatista support base members of San Marcos Avil\u00e9s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect for the Zapatista Support Base community&#8217;s inalienable right to autonomy as indigenous peoples, as enshrined in the internationally recognized ILO Convention No. 169 and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, both of which the government of Mexico has signed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In respect of the case of Zapatista support base Francisco S\u00e1ntiz L\u00f3pez, we demand his immediate and unconditional release, as well as a swift investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators of violence in Banavil, Tenejapa Municipality, Chiapas.<\/p>\n<p>To our brothers and sisters suffering injustice and violence in Chiapas, we remind you that your struggle is not carried out in silence, nor is it invisible. Indeed, countless individuals, organizations, and communities from around the world remain vigilant regarding your situation and have joined an international campaign in solidarity with your struggle. For our part, from cities across the world we send you a warm embrace, to let you know that we know who you are and what you are fighting for, and to say that we will do whatever we can to support you.
