El ataque fue perpetrado este 26 de noviembre de 2025 por los agresores Esteban Aguilar Herrera, Manuel Aguilar Herrera, Jos\u00e9 Aguilar Herrera, Victor Hugo P\u00e9rez, Favio Flores S\u00e1nchez y Abraham P\u00e9rez, todos ellos vinculados a los caciques y peque\u00f1os propietarios del municipio de Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, quienes huyeron en un autom\u00f3vil gris en direcci\u00f3n a Villa Guerrero o Mezquitic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cobarde ataque ocurri\u00f3 en el predio comunal El Caracol, territorio que la comunidad de Azquelt\u00e1n ha defendido colectivamente frente a los intentos de despojo de estas mismas personas, quienes han actuado amparados por la impunidad sistem\u00e1tica que les otorgan el Poder Judicial y la Fiscal\u00eda del Estado de Jalisco. Estas instituciones, una y otra vez, han protegido a quienes violentan, amenazan y atacan a la comunidad ind\u00edgena, profundizando la violencia con su omisi\u00f3n, su silencio y su complicidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Responsabilizamos al gobierno federal por negar el reconocimiento agrario de la comunidad ind\u00edgena de Azquelt\u00e1n; al gobierno del estado de Jalisco por la impunidad que garantiza a los criminales que hist\u00f3ricamente han atacado a la comunidad; y directamente a los asesinos Manuel y Esteban Aguilar Herrera y Victor Hugo P\u00e9rez cuyos actos forman parte de una estrategia permanente de despojo y agresi\u00f3n contra los pueblos originarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hoy, como Congreso Nacional Ind\u00edgena, decimos claro y fuerte: la violencia contra Azquelt\u00e1n no es un hecho aislado, sino parte de un patr\u00f3n nacional mediante el cual el poder \u2014sea gubernamental, econ\u00f3mico o criminal\u2014 ataca a las comunidades ind\u00edgenas cuando defienden su territorio y su vida. No aceptaremos que el asesinato de nuestro compa\u00f1ero quede impune, ni permitiremos que la dignidad de Azquelt\u00e1n sea pisoteada por los intereses de caciques, empresas, gobiernos o delincuencia organizada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exigimos justicia plena, castigo inmediato a los responsables materiales e intelectuales, y garant\u00edas reales de seguridad para la comunidad de San Lorenzo de Azquelt\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde la rabia y dolor que hacemos propia abrazamos a la comunidad y&nbsp;a su familia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a1Nunca m\u00e1s un M\u00e9xico sin nosotros!<br>Congreso Nacional Ind\u00edgena<\/p>\n\n[:en]\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">November 26, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We denounce with indignation, rage, and deep concern the murder of our comrade Marcos Aguilar Rojas, agrarian representative of the community of San Lorenzo de Azquelt\u00e1n, as well as the gunshot wounds inflicted on his brother Gabriel Aguilar Rojas, delegate of the National Indigenous Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attack was carried out on November 26, 2025, by the assailants Esteban Aguilar Herrera, Manuel Aguilar Herrera, Jos\u00e9 Aguilar Herrera, Victor Hugo P\u00e9rez, Favio Flores S\u00e1nchez, and Abraham P\u00e9rez, all of whom are linked to the local caciques\u2013or political bosses\u2013and small landowners of the municipality of Villa Guerrero, Jalisco. They fled in a gray car toward either Villa Guerrero or Mezquitic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cowardly attack occurred on the communal land of El Caracol, a territory that the Azquelt\u00e1n community has collectively defended against previous attempts at dispossession by these same individuals, who have acted under the protection of the systematic impunity granted to them by the Jalisco State Judiciary and Prosecutor&#8217;s Office. These institutions have repeatedly protected those who violate, threaten, and attack the Indigenous community, deepening the violence through their omission, silence, and complicity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hold the federal government responsible for denying agrarian recognition to the Indigenous community of Azquelt\u00e1n; the government of the state of Jalisco for the impunity it guarantees to the criminals who have historically attacked the community; and we hold directly responsible the murderers Manuel and Esteban Aguilar Herrera and Victor Hugo P\u00e9rez, whose acts form part of a permanent strategy of dispossession and aggression against native peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, as the National Indigenous Congress, we declare loud and clear: the violence against Azquelt\u00e1n is not an isolated incident, but part of a national pattern in which power\u2014whether governmental, economic, or criminal\u2014attacks Indigenous communities when they defend their territory and their lives.
