Compas<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some weeks, residents of Palestina have been harassing women, elders, children, and men of the Zapatista community \u201c6 de Octubre,\u201d part of the Caracol of Jerusal\u00e9n, with threats of evicting them from the lands they have occupied and worked peacefully for over 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before this \u201cchange\u201d of government, the community of \u201c6 de Octubre\u201d had lived in peace and harmony with the surrounding communities, without frictions or problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the beginning of the problem, the Local Autonomous Government (GAL) of \u201c6 de Octubre\u201d and the Assembly of Collectives of Autonomous Zapatista Governments (ACEGAZ) of the Caracol of Jerusal\u00e9n have insisted on dialogue and agreements with the communal authorities of Palestina, but all has been in vain. Those authorities of Palestina claim that they have the support of the municipal authorities of Ocosingo and the Government of the State of Chiapas (PVEM and MORENA respectively), and have been informed by those governments that they will grant the aggressors property papers for the stolen lands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residents of Palestina themselves say that there is pressure by the so-called organized crime to evict our compa\u00f1eras<\/em> and compa\u00f1eros<\/em>, and that there is an agreement between the organized crime and the various levels of government to \u201clegalize\u201d the dispossession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The threats have been worsening to include the presence of people from Palestina with assault weapons, threating to rape women, burning houses, and stealing belongings, harvests, and animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The harassment is unceasing. The Caracol of Jerusal\u00e9n was one of the locations considered for the celebration of the Encounters of Resistance and Rebellion 2024\u20132025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since we must remain attentive to the deterioration of this serious situation, we will suspend all communication and information about those encounters and will consider cancelling them, since there would be no security for the attendees anywhere in Chiapas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the reality of the \u201ccontinuity with change\u201d in gad governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
