2021.<\/p>\n<p>Posdata.- Est\u00e1 esa canci\u00f3n de Le\u00f3n Gieco que se llama \u201cEl Desembarco\u201d.\u00a0 La ten\u00eda desde hace a\u00f1os en la carpeta de \u201cpendientes\u201d, dudando de cu\u00e1ndo y en qu\u00e9 video ponerla.\u00a0 Al final, pens\u00e9 que, cuando llegara su momento, lo sabr\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>Mirando el momento en que Marijose pone su pie sobre el suelo gallego, pens\u00e9, no en la canci\u00f3n, sino en el invisible entramado que un\u00edan m\u00fasica y una bota <em>bucanera,<\/em> calzando un pie originario maya, pos\u00e1ndose en suelo ib\u00e9rico.<\/p>\n<p>Investigu\u00e9 y resulta que la canci\u00f3n fue hecha p\u00fablica en 2011, en un disco hom\u00f3nimo.\u00a0 Eso hace 10 a\u00f1os\u2026 o m\u00e1s.\u00a0 \u00bfCu\u00e1ndo lleg\u00f3 el hacer esa canci\u00f3n en su coraz\u00f3n de Le\u00f3n Gieco, ese hermano involuntario \u2013o bajo protesta, como Juan Villoro-, que tenemos en el abrazo grande que es Le\u00f3n Gieco[i] called \u00abEl Desembarco\u00bb [The Landing]. I had it archived in a \u201cpending\u201d folder for years, wondering when and in which video to use it. In the end, I thought that when the time came, I would know.<\/p>\n<p>I thought, as I watched Marijose set foot on Galician soil, not about the song, but about the invisible web that brought music together with a buccaneer boot, worn on a native Mayan foot, stepping onto Iberian soil.<\/p>\n<p>I did a little research and it turns out that the song was released in 2011 on an album of the same name. That was 10 years ago \u2026 or more. When was this song born in the heart of Le\u00f3n Gieco, our unwitting brother \u2013 or sworn brother like Juan Villoro[ii] \u2013 who we hold within the great embrace that is Latin America? Months or years before?<\/p>\n<p>Did Le\u00f3n dream what the lyrics say?<\/p>\n<p>Is it the same dream had by Marijose when, in April\u2019s fiery embrace, it was decided that Marijose [<em>elloa<\/em>] would be the first to disembark? Is it the same dream that the late SupMarcos had when he wrote \u00abSailor on the Mountain\u00bb years before the uprising? The same one that kept Don Durito[iii] of the Lacand\u00f3n Jungle awake when he imagined (or made\u2014we\u2019ll never know) his journey through European lands? Did Comandanta Ramona, the first to leave Zapatista territory and from whose path the National Indigenous Congress was born, dream that dream?\u00a0 Is it the same one dreamed by then Lieutenant Colonel Insurgente Mois\u00e9s when \u2013 in 2010, on the outskirts of a hut in the mountains of the Mexican southeast \u2013 he received the rank of Subcomandante? The one that Se\u00f1or Ik, SubPedro, and 45 other Zapatistas had moments before falling in combat in January 1994? The one that, collectively, the indigenous Sami people \u2013 in the northernmost north of Europe \u2013 put forward in their Declaration for Life? Was it the dream of Gonzalo Guerrero[iv] over 500 years ago when he made the path and destiny of the Mayan people his own? Is it that dream that unsettled Jacinto Canek[v]?<\/p>\n<p>Did this dream alleviate to some extent the passing of Comandante Ismael, Dr. Paulina Fern\u00e1ndez C., Oscar Ch\u00e1vez, Jaime Montejo, Jean Robert, Paul Leduc, Vicente Rojo, Mario Molina, Ernesto Cardenal and so many family members \u2013 all brothers and sisters without knowing it \u2013 that we have lost in recent months?<\/p>\n<p>Is it the dream that inspired Europe from below to organize such a terrible and marvelous reception in Vigo?<\/p>\n<p>The one that now travels through the streets, neighborhoods, countryside, and coasts of Europe repeating \u00abWill July rain on Paris\u00bb?<\/p>\n<p>Is it the dream that inspired the voices that found echo in the emblematic reflections on the beaches of Vigo and crossed the Atlantic to now take nest in the Zapatista communities?<\/p>\n<p>Because the 421st Squadron descends not from a ship, but from <em>La Monta\u00f1a,<\/em> \u00abwithout weapons, and for life.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Is this what humanity is? That which weaves the long and hidden thread that unites different and distant geographies and links calendars near and far?<\/p>\n<p>I do not know. But I would recommend to those whose curse is art: Give expression to that dream.
