COMUNICADO CONJUNTO DEL CNI, EL CIG Y EL EZLN EN RECHAZO AL MEGAPROYECTO DEL NAIM Y EN APOYO Y SOLIDARIDAD CON LAS POBLACIONES MIGRANTES.<\/p>\n

Los pueblos, naciones, tribus y barrios del Congreso Nacional Ind\u00edgena y el EZLN, nos dirigimos con respeto al pueblo de M\u00e9xico y a los pueblos originarios y campesinos que dignamente resisten en contra del megaproyecto<\/em> de muerte que llaman Nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de M\u00e9xico (NAIM), quienes sin rendirse, sin venderse, ni claudicar, no han dejado que caiga la esperanza; que es una luz para los que so\u00f1amos y construimos la justicia.<\/p>\n Tambi\u00e9n va nuestra palabra respetuosa a quienes se ven obligados a buscar en otros suelos lo que les arrebataron en sus geograf\u00edas; a quienes migran en busca de vida; y a quienes les apoyan desinteresadamente con sus medios, tiempos y modos.<\/p>\n -*-<\/strong><\/p>\n Hemos visto, seguido y vivido de cerca la lucha de los pueblos del lago de Texcoco y alrededores. Hemos visto su decisi\u00f3n, su dignidad y su dolor, que tambi\u00e9n han sido nuestras. No olvidamos la represi\u00f3n de mayo de 2006, la tortura sexual, el injusto encarcelamiento de los compa\u00f1eros y compa\u00f1eras del Frente de Pueblos en Defensa de la Tierra y de la Sexta nacional e internacional; as\u00ed como el asesinato de nuestro compa\u00f1ero Ollin Alexis Benhumea y el menor Francisco Javier Cort\u00e9s Santiago; represi\u00f3n ordenada entonces por Vicente Fox y Enrique Pe\u00f1a Nieto, con el aval y el aplauso de todo el espectro pol\u00edtico de arriba, incluidos quienes hoy se presentan como \u201cel cambio\u201d.<\/p>\n Hoy, sin ning\u00fan apego a los derechos que como pueblos originarios tenemos, los malos gobiernos dicen consultar a los mexicanos si prefieren el aeropuerto en el Lago de Texcoco o en Santa Luc\u00eda, pero nosotros pensamos que ambos llevan al despojo de los territorios circundantes, a la devastaci\u00f3n ambiental, a la mercantilizaci\u00f3n de la vida comunitaria con su llamada aerotr\u00f3polis<\/em>. Ambos llevan a hacer de nuestro pa\u00eds la pieza necesaria que le permita el libre flujo al capital trasnacional, que facilite la entrada y salida de mercanc\u00edas, a la explotaci\u00f3n de todo cuanto tenemos, para el beneficio de unos poquitos.\u00a0 Cualquiera de las dos opciones, van dirigidas a afianzar como rectora a la muerte que amenaza a la humanidad.\u00a0 Es decir, afianzar al capitalismo neoliberal como verdugo de nuestros pueblos.<\/p>\n Decidir donde pongan el nuevo aeropuerto no deber\u00eda ser lo que nos pregunten los gobernantes, pues si tuvieran un poco de verg\u00fcenza frente a los millones que sufren el despojo, la pobreza, la represi\u00f3n, ante los que deben migrar por miles ante la destrucci\u00f3n dejada en todo el mundo, ante nuestra madre tierra que no soporta m\u00e1s la grave enfermedad que ha causado el capitalismo; la pregunta deber\u00eda ser si estamos de acuerdo en que contin\u00faen o no por ese camino que nos est\u00e1 conduciendo, a todas y todos, a la muerte, a la guerra, al exterminio.<\/p>\n Sabemos que no lo har\u00e1n porque su camino es el marcado por los poderosos que de veras mandan y no por ellos. El NAICM no es la \u00fanica pieza que les hace falta para terminar de desfigurar esta naci\u00f3n y darle forma a la tragedia que apenas va empezando, por lo que nuestra palabra y nuestro llamado seguir\u00e1n siendo organizarnos en la resistencia y la rebeld\u00eda, que son la lucha por la vida.<\/p>\n Los pueblos originarios no podemos decir que s\u00ed a nuestro exterminio, aunque el mal gobierno finja hacer una consulta, aunque falsifique votos, aunque los compre o los consiga con enga\u00f1os al pueblo de M\u00e9xico. El embate en contra de los territorios que sostienen la vida y en contra de la libertad, no ser\u00e1 en nuestro nombre.<\/p>\n El CNI \u2013 CIG y el EZLN reiteramos nuestro tajante rechazo a la construcci\u00f3n del Nuevo Aeropuerto de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico en el lago de Texcoco o en cualquier lugar, pues apuesta a hacer m\u00e1s fuerte al gran capital, beneficiar a unos pocos magnates como Carlos Slim, Carlos Hank Rhon, Bernardo Quintana e Hip\u00f3lito Gerard Rivero, cu\u00f1ado de Carlos Salinas de Gortari, y cualquier nombre que tome la hidra capitalista; todos ellos basan su riqueza en la explotaci\u00f3n y sufrimiento de los millones que somos abajo. Con esa obra, al igual que con los dem\u00e1s megaproyectos<\/em> impuestos en nuestras geograf\u00edas, est\u00e1n decididos a arrebatar lo que es nuestro, a costa de la vida de quien se oponga.<\/p>\n Reconocemos, respetamos y saludamos la lucha de quienes, caminando su autonom\u00eda, decidan participar o no en la supuesta consulta sobre el NAIM y llamamos a unificar esfuerzos, que crezcan y se fortalezcan, desde la diversidad que somos abajo, para detener la destrucci\u00f3n de los territorios originarios, campesinos y urbanos.<\/p>\n -*-<\/strong><\/p>\n Esas obras llamadas \u201cmegaproyectos<\/em>\u201d, que no son sino parte de la guerra del sistema contra todo, son las que siembran violencia, destrucci\u00f3n y muerte en todo el mundo; y las que obligan, a los pobladores afectados, a migrar en busca de la vida que le arrebataron a sus lugares de origen.<\/p>\n Tal es el caso de quienes hoy migran desde los territorios de Centroam\u00e9rica, y que son atacados, hostigados y calumniados por \u00f3rdenes del Mand\u00f3n, quien as\u00ed alimenta el odio hacia la diferencia, y saca todav\u00eda m\u00e1s ganancia de la tragedia que provoc\u00f3.<\/p>\n El sistema persigue hoy, lo que provoc\u00f3 ayer.<\/p>\n En el dolor de esos pasos \u201cmigrantes\u201d camina nuestro ma\u00f1ana si no nos organizamos ya en defensa de la vida.<\/p>\n El apoyo, respeto y solidaridad para estas hermanas y hermanos se mantiene desde hace tiempo, y as\u00ed seguir\u00e1, aunque sea con nuestras limitadas posibilidades.<\/p>\n En nuestros pueblos, en nuestras casas, en nuestros caminos, en nuestros territorios, compartiremos, como ayer, hoy y ma\u00f1ana, lo poco que tenemos; y tendr\u00e1n la palabra de aliento y digna rabia que alivie sus pasos y les ayude a continuar.<\/p>\n Porque el mundo no es propiedad de ninguna bandera.<\/p>\n Es de todas, todos, todoas<\/em>, quienes lo hacemos andar con nuestro trabajo, quienes lo hacen florecer, quienes siembran vida donde el sistema cosecha muerte; quienes, como los familiares de los ausentes de Ayotzinapa, caminan el mundo en busca de la verdad y la justicia, es decir, la vida.<\/p>\n Atentamente [:en]<\/p>\n Joint Communique from the CNI, CIG, and EZLN Rejecting the NAIM (New International Airport of Mexico) and Voicing Support for and Solidarity with Migrant Populations<\/strong><\/p>\n October 26, 2018<\/p>\n To the People of Mexico: The peoples, nations, tribes, and barrios<\/em> of the National Indigenous Congress (CNI) and the Zapatista Army for National Liberation (EZLN) respectfully address the Mexican people and the originary peoples and campesinos<\/em> who wage dignified resistance against the death-driven megaproject called the New International Airport of Mexico (NAIM). These peoples have sustained hope without giving up, giving in, or selling out, and they are a light for all of us who dream of and work to build justice.<\/p>\n We also respectfully address those who have been forced to seek in other lands what was stolen from them in their own geographies; those who migrate in search of life, as well as those who, without self-interest and in their own ways, times, and means, support those migrants.<\/p>\n -*-<\/strong><\/p>\n We have seen, lived, and closely followed the struggle of the peoples of the Texcoco Lake and the surrounding areas. We have witnessed their determination, dignity and pain, which have also been ours. We have not forgotten the repression in May 2006 which included sexual torture; the unjust imprisonment of compa\u00f1eros<\/em> and compa\u00f1eras<\/em> of the Frente de Pueblos en Defensa de la Tierra<\/em> (People\u2019s Front in Defense of the Land) and of the national and international Sixth; and the murder of our compa\u00f1ero <\/em>Ollin Alexis Benhumea and 14-year-old Francisco Javier Cort\u00e9s Santiago. Vicente Fox and Enrique Pe\u00f1a Nieto gave the order for this repression with the full approval of the entire political spectrum from above, including those who today claim to represent \u201cchange.\u201d<\/p>\n Today, with complete disregard for our rights as originary peoples, the bad governments claim to consult the Mexican people as to whether they prefer the airport be built at the Texcoco Lake site or in Santa Luc\u00eda, but we know that both, through their so-called aerotropolis[i]<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, imply environmental devastation, dispossession of adjacent territories and the commodification of community life. Both options further turn our country into the necessary link for the free flow of transnational capital, facilitating the entry and exit of commodities and the exploitation of everything we have for the benefit of the few. Both options are aimed at setting us more firmly on the path of death that today threatens all of humanity. Both more firmly entrench neoliberal capitalism as our people\u2019s executioner.<\/p>\n The government should not be asking us where to put the new airport. In the face of the millions of people suffering displacement, poverty and repression; the thousands forced to migrate because of the destruction wrought across the world; and our mother earth who can no longer withstand the disease imposed on her by capitalism, had they any shame at all, the question would be whether or not we agree to continue down this path that is leading us all toward death, war, and extermination.<\/p>\n We know they won\u2019t ask that question, though, because their path is mandated by the powerful who actually rule over them. The NAIM is not the only missing piece in their plan to disfigure the country and shape the tragedy that is only just beginning. Thus our word and our call is to continue to organize ourselves in resistance and rebellion, which is our struggle for life.<\/p>\n We originary peoples cannot vote in favor of our own extermination. As much as the bad government might pretend to carry out a referendum (committing fraud, buying votes and deceiving the people of Mexico), this attack on freedom and on the territories that sustain life will not be carried out in our name.<\/p>\n The CNI-CIG and the EZLN reiterate our unequivocal rejection of the construction of the New Airport of Mexico City whether it be built at Texcoco Lake or anywhere else. This project will strengthen big capital and benefit a few tycoons like Carlos Slim, Carlos Hank Rhon, Bernardo Quintana, and Hip\u00f3lito Gerard Rivero (Carlos Salinas de Gortari\u2019s brother-in-law), or whatever name the capitalist hydra takes on; all of their wealth is based on the suffering and exploitation of millions of us below. This project, like all the other mega-projects imposed in our geographies, is aimed at wresting from us what is ours, at the cost of the life of whoever resists.<\/p>\n We recognize, respect, and salute the struggle of all those who, in carrying out their autonomy, decide to participate or not in the so-called referendum on the NAIM, and we call on everyone to unite efforts, to grow and strengthen our unity across our diversity from below in order to stop the destruction of our originary, campesino<\/em>, and urban territories.<\/p>\n -*-<\/strong><\/p>\n These so-called \u201cmega-projects\u201d are nothing but another element of the system\u2019s war against everything, sowing violence, destruction, and death all over the world and forcing populations to migrate in search of the life that was denied them in their places of origin.<\/p>\n This is the situation of those who today migrate from their Central American territories, who are being attacked, harassed, and slandered on orders from the big boss in an attempt to feed hatred toward difference and extract even more profits from the tragedy he has provoked.<\/p>\n The system pursues today what it provoked yesterday.<\/p>\n Our own tomorrow hovers in the painful steps of these \u201cmigrants\u201d if we do not organize ourselves in defense of life.<\/p>\n We have long supported, respected, and maintained solidarity for these sisters and brothers and will continue to do so, however limited our capacities.<\/p>\n Now as before, we will share with these migrants the little that we have in our communities, homes, paths, and territories, and they can count on our encouraging word and dignified rage to ease their path and help them to carry on.<\/p>\n Because the world is not the property of any flag.<\/p>\n It belongs to all of us [todas, todos, todoas<\/em>] who make it turn with our labor, who make it flourish by sowing life where the system harvests death, and who, like the families of those absent from Ayotzinapa, walk the world in search of truth and justice\u2014that is, in search of life.<\/p>\n Attentively,<\/p>\n October 2018<\/p>\n Never Again a Mexico Without Us<\/p>\n National Indigenous Congress<\/p>\n Indigenous Governing Council<\/p>\n Zapatista Army for National Liberation<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [i]<\/a> Aerotr\u00f3polis <\/em>is the idea that the most significant money to be made through the New Mexico City Airport project lies not in the construction contracts for the airport itself, but rather in the larger-scale and longer-term construction of roads, housing, hotels, and industrial and business parks around the airport, as well as plans to link the NAICM to the New Port of Veracruz and other highway megaprojects throughout the country.
