ANIVERSARIO DE LOS CARACOLES ZAPATISTAS: \u201cP\u00edntale caracolitos a los malos gobiernos pasados, presentes y futuros\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>Julio del 2018.<\/p>\n<p>A l@s individu@s, grupos, colectivos y organizaciones de las Redes de Apoyo al CIG:<br \/>\nA la Sexta Nacional e Internacional:<\/p>\n<p>Considerando que:<\/p>\n<p>Primero y \u00fanico:<\/p>\n<h4 align=\"center\">La Gran Final.<\/h4>\n<p>Llega usted al gran estadio.\u00a0 \u201cMonumental\u201d, \u201ccoloso\u201d, \u201cmaravilla arquitect\u00f3nica\u201d, \u201cel gigante de concreto\u201d, calificativos parecidos se repiten en las voces de los locutores que, a pesar de las distintas realidades que describen, coinciden en resaltar la soberbia construcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Para llegar a la grandiosa edificaci\u00f3n, usted ha tenido que sortear escombros, cad\u00e1veres, suciedad.\u00a0 Cuentan quienes m\u00e1s a\u00f1os cuentan, que no siempre fue as\u00ed; que antes, en torno a la gran sede deportiva, se levantaban casas, barrios, comercios, edificios, r\u00edos y arroyos de gente que uno esquivaba hasta casi toparse de narices con el gigantesco port\u00f3n, que s\u00f3lo se abr\u00eda cada tanto tiempo, y en cuyo dintel se le\u00eda: \u201cBienvenido al Juego Supremo\u201d.\u00a0 S\u00ed, \u201cbienvenido\u201d, en masculino, como si lo que ocurriera dentro fuera cosa s\u00f3lo de varones; como antes los sanitarios, las cantinas, la secci\u00f3n de m\u00e1quinas y herramientas de las tiendas especializadas\u2026 y, claro, el futbol.<\/p>\n<p>Pero, a vuelo de p\u00e1jaro, la imagen vista bien podr\u00eda ser un s\u00edmil de un universo contray\u00e9ndose, dejando en su periferia muerte y destrucci\u00f3n.\u00a0 S\u00ed, como si el Gran Estadio fuera el hoyo negro que absorbe la vida a su alrededor y que, a\u00fan insaciable, eructa y defeca cuerpos sin vida, sangre, mierda.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Desde cierta distancia, se puede apreciar el inmueble en su totalidad.\u00a0 Aunque ahora sus err\u00f3neas disposiciones arquitect\u00f3nicas, sus fallas estructurales en cimientos y edificaciones, sus cambiantes decoraciones al gusto del equipo ganador en turno, aparecen cubiertas por una tramoya que abunda en llamados a la unidad, la fe, la esperanza y, claro, la caridad.\u00a0 Como si se ratificara as\u00ed esa semejanza entre cultos religiosos, pol\u00edticos y deportivos.<\/p>\n<p>Usted no sabe mucho de arquitectura, pero le molesta esa insistencia casi obscena en una escenograf\u00eda que no coincide con la realidad.\u00a0 Colores y sonidos proclamando el fin de una era y el paso al ma\u00f1ana so\u00f1ado, la tierra prometida, el reposo que ya ni la muerte promete (se dice usted mientras hace un recuento de sus cercanas, personas desaparecidas, asesinadas, \u201cexportadas\u201d a otros infiernos, y cuyos nombres se diluyen en estad\u00edsticas y promesas de justicia y verdad).<\/p>\n<p>Como en la religi\u00f3n, la pol\u00edtica y los deportes, hay especialistas.\u00a0 Y usted no sabe mucho de nada.\u00a0 Le marean los inciensos, salmos y alabanzas que pueblan esos mundos.\u00a0 Usted no se siente capaz de describir el edificio, porque usted anda otros mundos, sus largos y tediosos caminos transcurren en lo que, desde los soberbios palcos del gran estadio, se podr\u00eda llamar \u201cel subsuelo\u201d.\u00a0 S\u00ed, la calle, el metro, el colectivo, el veh\u00edculo en abonos o pagado con cargo a otros abonos (una deuda siempre pospuesta y siempre creciente), el camino de terracer\u00eda, las rutas de extrav\u00edo que conducen a la milpa, a la escuela, al mercado, al tianguis, al trabajo, al jale, a la chinga.<\/p>\n<p>Usted se inquieta, s\u00ed, pero el optimismo de dentro del gran estadio es mayoritario, abrumador, a-v-a-s-a-l-l-a-n-t-e, y desborda hacia afuera.<\/p>\n<p>Como en esa canci\u00f3n que usted recuerda vagamente, el espect\u00e1culo que ya termin\u00f3, uni\u00f3 \u201c<em>al noble y al villano, al prohombre y al gusano<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 En esos momentos la igualdad fue reina y se\u00f1ora, no importa que el silbatazo final haya vuelto a cada quien a su lugar.\u00a0 Basta del olvido de que cada uno es cada cual, de nuevo, \u201c<em>y con la resaca a cuestas\/ vuelve el pobre a su pobreza, \/vuelve el rico a su riqueza \/y el se\u00f1or cura a sus misas \/se despert\u00f3 el bien y el mal\/ la zorra pobre vuelve al portal, \/ la zorra rica vuelve al rosal, \/ y el avaro a las divisas<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Y es que, ahora le informan a usted ruidos e im\u00e1genes, el partido ha finalizado.\u00a0 La gran final tan esperada y temida, concluy\u00f3 y el equipo vencedor recibe, con falsa modestia, los clamores de los espectadores.\u00a0 \u201cEl respetable p\u00fablico\u201d, dicen voceros y cronistas.\u00a0 S\u00ed, as\u00ed se refieren a quienes han participado activamente con gritos, porras, hurras, insultos y diatribas, desde las gradas, como espectadores a quienes s\u00f3lo en la gran final se les permite simular que est\u00e1n frente al bal\u00f3n y que su grito es el puntapi\u00e9 que dirige el esf\u00e9rico \u201cal fondo de las redes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfCu\u00e1ntas veces ha escuchado usted eso?\u00a0 Muchas, \u00bfvale la pena contarlas?\u00a0 Las derrotas reiteradas, la promesa que a la que sigue s\u00ed, que el \u00e1rbitro, que el campo, que el clima, que la luz, que la alineaci\u00f3n, que la estrategia y la t\u00e1ctica, que etc\u00e9tera.\u00a0 Al menos la ilusi\u00f3n actual alivia esa historia de fracasos\u2026 a la que luego se sumar\u00e1 la desilusi\u00f3n prevista.<\/p>\n<p>En las afueras del recinto, una mano maliciosa ha rayado, en el soberbio muro que rodea el estadio una sentencia: \u201cFALTA LA REALIDAD\u201d.\u00a0 Y no conforme con su herej\u00eda, la mano le ha agregado trazos y colores a las letras, tan variados y creativos que ya no parecen pintados.\u00a0 Ya no es un grafiti, sino una inscripci\u00f3n como grabada con cincel, manchando el concreto.\u00a0 Una huella indeleble en la ap\u00e1tica superficie del muro.\u00a0 Y, para colmo, el \u00faltimo trazo de la \u201cD\u201d final ha abierto una grieta que se alarga hasta el basamento.\u00a0 Un cartel, roto y descolorido, con la imagen de una feliz pareja heterosexual, con un par de hijos, ni\u00f1o y ni\u00f1a, y con el encabezado de \u201cLa Familia Feliz\u201d, trata en vano de ocultar la hendidura que, tal vez por un efecto \u00f3ptico, parece rasgar tambi\u00e9n la feliz imagen de la familia feliz.<\/p>\n<p>Pero ni el ruido interno que hace vibrar las paredes del estadio logra disimular la grieta.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro, aunque el partido ha terminado, la muchedumbre no abandona el estadio.\u00a0 Aunque no tardar\u00e1 mucho en que sea de nuevo expulsada de vuelta al valle de ruinas, la multitud embelesada se hace eco de sus propios gritos e intercambia an\u00e9cdotas: qui\u00e9n grit\u00f3 m\u00e1s fuerte, qui\u00e9n hizo la mejor burla (se dice \u201c<em>meme<\/em>\u201d), qui\u00e9n divulg\u00f3 la mentira m\u00e1s exitosa (el n\u00famero de \u201c<em>likes<\/em>\u201d determina el grado de verdad), qui\u00e9n lo supo desde un principio, qui\u00e9n nunca dud\u00f3.\u00a0 En las tribunas, algunos, algunas,\u00a0<strong><em>algunoas<\/em><\/strong>, intercambian an\u00e1lisis: que \u201c\u00bfs\u00ed viste que los contrarios cambiaron de camiseta en el medio tiempo y que ahora festejan la victoria quienes iniciaron el encuentro con el uniforme del equipo rival?\u201d; que \u201cel \u00e1rbitro (el siempre \u201c\u00e1rbitro vendido\u201d) ahora s\u00ed cumpli\u00f3 porque la victoria del equipo todo lo limpia y enaltece\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos, algunas,\u00a0<strong><em>algunoas<\/em><\/strong>, m\u00e1s esc\u00e9pticos, ven con desconcierto que, entre quienes celebran el triunfo, est\u00e1n los que jugaron y juegan en equipos rivales.\u00a0 Tratan, pero no entienden.\u00a0 O s\u00ed entienden, pero no es hora de entender, sino de festejar.\u00a0 Para dej\u00e1rselos claro, una pantalla gigante parpadea con la tonada visual de moda: \u201cProhibido Pensar\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La noche ha pospuesto su llegada, piensa usted.\u00a0 Pero se da cuenta de que son los reflectores y los fuegos de artificio los que simulan claridad.\u00a0 Claro, una claridad selectiva.\u00a0 Porque all\u00e1, en aquel rinc\u00f3n, unas gradas se han derrumbado y los equipos de rescate no acuden, ocupados como est\u00e1n en el festejo.\u00a0 La gente no se pregunta cu\u00e1ntos muertos, sino de cu\u00e1l equipo eran seguidores.\u00a0 M\u00e1s all\u00e1, en ese otro rinc\u00f3n oscuro, una mujer ha sido agredida, violada, secuestrada, asesinada, desaparecida.\u00a0 Pero, vamos, es s\u00f3lo una mujer, o una anciana, o una\u00a0<strong><em>j\u00f3vena<\/em><\/strong>, o una ni\u00f1a.\u00a0 Los medios, siempre en sinton\u00eda con los tiempos que corren, no preguntan el nombre de la v\u00edctima, sino si portaba su playera de tal o cual equipo.<\/p>\n<p>Pero no es tiempo de amarguras, sino de fiesta, de brindis, del f-i-n-d-e-l-a-h-i-s-t-o-r-i-a mi buen, del comienzo de un nuevo campeonato.\u00a0 Fuera, la oscuridad parece el colof\u00f3n pict\u00f3rico para la zona devastada.\u00a0 S\u00ed, piensa usted, como un escenario de guerra.<\/p>\n<p>El barullo le reclama atenci\u00f3n.\u00a0 Usted trata de tomar distancia para comprender el impacto de ese gran triunfo de su equipo favorito\u2026 mmh\u2026 \u00bfera su equipo favorito?\u00a0 Ya no importa, el triunfador siempre fue y ser\u00e1 el equipo favorito de las mayor\u00edas.\u00a0 Y, claro, todos sab\u00edan que el triunfo era inevitable, y en tribunas se suceden las explicaciones l\u00f3gicas: \u201cs\u00ed, no era posible otro resultado, s\u00f3lo el de la copa embriagante coronando los colores del equipo favorito.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Usted trata, sin conseguirlo, de hacer suyo el entusiasmo que inunda las tribunas, los palcos, y parece llegar hasta el punto m\u00e1s alto de la construcci\u00f3n donde, lo que se adivina es una lujosa habitaci\u00f3n, refleja en sus vidrios polarizados las luces, los gritos y las im\u00e1genes.<\/p>\n<p>Usted recorre las tribunas con dificultad, la gente se abarrota en pasillos y escaleras.\u00a0 Busca usted algo o alguien que no lo haga sentir extra\u00f1o, camina como un extraterrestre o un viajero del tiempo que aterriza en un calendario y una geograf\u00eda desconocidos.<\/p>\n<p>Se detiene un poco donde dos personas de edad miran con atenci\u00f3n una especie de tablero.\u00a0 No, no se trata de ajedrez.\u00a0 Ahora que usted se ha acercado lo suficiente, ve que se trata de un rompecabezas con apenas algunas piezas engarzadas y sin la figura final siquiera esbozada.<\/p>\n<p>Una persona le est\u00e1 diciendo a la otra: \u201c<em>Bueno, no, no me parece que sea ficci\u00f3n.\u00a0 Despu\u00e9s de todo, el pensamiento cr\u00edtico debe partir de una hip\u00f3tesis, por alocada que parezca.\u00a0 Pero no debe abandonar el rigor para confrontarla y verificar si procede, o hay que buscar otro punto de arranque.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Y, tomando una de las piezas del rompecabezas, esa persona la muestra y dice:<em>\u00a0\u201cpor ejemplo, puede ser, a veces, que lo peque\u00f1o ayude a entender lo grande.\u00a0 Como si en esta peque\u00f1a parte pudi\u00e9ramos adivinar o intuir la figura ya completada<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 Usted no escucha lo que sigue, porque los grupos vecinos gritan contra ese extra\u00f1o par y acallan sus palabras.<\/p>\n<p>Alguien le ha pasado un volante.\u00a0 \u201c<em>Desaparecida<\/em>\u201d se lee, y una imagen de una mujer cuya edad usted no puede determinar.\u00a0 \u00bfUna anciana, una mujer madura, una\u00a0<strong><em>j\u00f3vena<\/em><\/strong>, una ni\u00f1a?\u00a0 El viento le arrebata el volante y su vuelo se confunde con las serpentinas y el confeti que nublan la vista.<\/p>\n<p>Y hablando de ni\u00f1as\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Una ni\u00f1a, peque\u00f1a, de piel oscura, de ropas extra\u00f1as de tan coloridas y adornadas, mira el estadio, las tribunas, las luces multicolores, las sonrisas de vencedores y vencidos, alegres las primeras, maliciosas las segundas.<\/p>\n<p>La ni\u00f1a tiene una duda.\u00a0 Se adivina en la expresi\u00f3n de su rostro, en su mirada inquieta.<\/p>\n<p>Usted se siente generoso, al fin al cabo usted ha ganado\u2026 mmh\u2026 \u00bfha ganado?\u00a0 Bueno, no importa.\u00a0 Usted se siente generoso y, sol\u00edcito, le pregunta a la ni\u00f1a qu\u00e9 busca.<\/p>\n<p>La ni\u00f1a le responde: \u201c<em>el bal\u00f3n<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0 Y, sin voltear a verlo a usted, sigue con su mirada barriendo la gran construcci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>\u00bfEl bal\u00f3n?<\/em>\u201d, pregunta usted como si la pregunta viniera de otro tiempo, de otro mundo.<\/p>\n<p>La ni\u00f1a suspira y a\u00f1ade: \u201c<em>bueno, de ah\u00ed que tal vez lo tiene el due\u00f1o<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>\u00bfEl due\u00f1o?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>S\u00ed, el due\u00f1o del bal\u00f3n, y del estadio, y del trofeo, y de los equipos, y de todo esto<\/em>\u201d, dice la ni\u00f1a mientras con sus manitas intenta abarcar la realidad concentrada en el gran estadio.<\/p>\n<p>Usted trata de encontrar las palabras para decirle a la ni\u00f1a que esas preguntas no vienen al caso, o cosa, seg\u00fan, pero entonces usted recuerda\u2026, o m\u00e1s bien no recuerda haber visto el bal\u00f3n.\u00a0 En su mente le aparece una imagen borrosa, cree que al inicio del partido, del esf\u00e9rico con sus gajos manchados por \u201cnuestros amables patrocinadores\u201d.\u00a0 Ni siquiera en los goles anotados lo ubica.<\/p>\n<p>Pero ah\u00ed est\u00e1 la pantalla del marcador, y la pantalla marca la realidad que importa: tal gan\u00f3, tal perdi\u00f3.\u00a0 Ning\u00fan marcador se\u00f1ala qui\u00e9n es el due\u00f1o ni siquiera del marcador, mucho menos qui\u00e9n es el due\u00f1o del bal\u00f3n, de los equipos, de las tribunas, de las \u201cc\u00e1maras y micr\u00f3fonos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el marcador no es un marcador cualquiera.\u00a0 Es el m\u00e1s moderno que existe y cost\u00f3 una fortuna.\u00a0 Incluye el VAR para ayudar a sus empleados a sumar o restar puntos en la pantalla, y para las repeticiones instant\u00e1neas o reiteradas de cuando \u201cjuntos hicimos historia\u201d.\u00a0 Y el marcador no marca los goles, sino los gritos.\u00a0 Gana quien m\u00e1s grite, entonces \u00bfqui\u00e9n necesita el bal\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>Pero entonces usted revisa sus recuerdos y nota algo extra\u00f1o: minutos antes del final del partido, la porra, la barra, la fanaticada del equipo contrario guard\u00f3 silencio.\u00a0 Y los gritos de los seguidores del equipo ahora triunfador no tuvieron rival.\u00a0 S\u00ed, muy extra\u00f1a esa s\u00fabita retirada.\u00a0 Pero m\u00e1s extra\u00f1o es que, cuando en la pantalla del marcador no se reflejaban a\u00fan los resultados, ni siquiera los parciales, el equipo contrario volvi\u00f3 a la cancha s\u00f3lo para felicitar al triunfador\u2026 que todav\u00eda no era triunfador.\u00a0 En los altos y lujosos palcos del estadio estall\u00f3 la algarab\u00eda y los colores de sus pendones eran ya los del equipo ganador.\u00a0 \u00bfA qu\u00e9 hora cambiaron de favorito?\u00a0 \u00bfQui\u00e9n gan\u00f3 realmente?\u00a0 Y s\u00ed, \u00bfqui\u00e9n es el due\u00f1o del bal\u00f3n?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>\u00bfY por qu\u00e9 quieres saber qui\u00e9n es el due\u00f1o?<\/em>\u201d, cuestiona usted a la ni\u00f1a, porque le parece que, no obstante sus dudas, es tiempo de silbatos y matracas, y no de preguntas necias.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Ah, porque \u00e9se no pierde.\u00a0 No importa qu\u00e9 equipo gane o pierda, el due\u00f1o siempre gana.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Usted se incomoda con la duda que eso plantea.\u00a0 Y se incomoda m\u00e1s al ver a quienes declaraban que el equipo ahora triunfador traer\u00eda desgracias, celebrando un triunfo que, apenas unas horas antes, no era suyo.\u00a0 Porque no se ve que hayan perdido, m\u00e1s bien festejan como si el triunfo fuera suyo, como si dijeran \u201cganamos otra vez\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Usted est\u00e1 a punto de decirle a la ni\u00f1a que deje la amargura en otro lado, que tal vez est\u00e9 en sus d\u00edas, o en la depre, o no entiende nada, despu\u00e9s de todo es s\u00f3lo una ni\u00f1a, pero en eso el respetable prorrumpe en un alarido: el equipo vencedor regresa a la cancha para agradecer al respetable su apoyo.\u00a0 La gente-gente sigue en las tribunas y contempla, arrobada, a los modernos gladiadores que han vencido a las bestias\u2026 \u00a1un momento!, \u00bfno son las bestias quienes ahora abrazan y festejan y cargan en hombros al equipo vencedor?<\/p>\n<p>Usted se ha quedado pensando en lo que dijo la ni\u00f1a.\u00a0 Y recuerda entonces, inquieto, que el equipo contrario, conocido por su rudeza, ma\u00f1as y trampas, abandon\u00f3 el partido justo antes de que sonara el silbatazo final.\u00a0 S\u00ed, como si temiera que su inercia propia, pudiera hacerlo triunfador (con trampa, claro) y, para evitarlo, se retirara completamente.\u00a0 Y con \u00e9l, desaparecieron sus porras, sus fan\u00e1ticos, sus, ahora usted lo recuerda, contados banderines y banderas.<\/p>\n<p>La algarab\u00eda sigue.\u00a0 Al parecer en tribunas no importa el absurdo que transcurre en el centro del campo, donde el p\u00f3dium espera la premiaci\u00f3n final.<\/p>\n<p>Usted se hace eco de la pregunta de la ni\u00f1a y, con timidez, cuestiona a su vez:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>\u00bfQui\u00e9n es el due\u00f1o del bal\u00f3n?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pero el grito masivo se traga su pregunta, y nadie le escucha.<\/p>\n<p>La ni\u00f1a le toma de la mano y le dice: \u201c<em>V\u00e1monos, tenemos que salir<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9?<\/em>\u201d, pregunta usted.<\/p>\n<p>Y la ni\u00f1a, se\u00f1alando la base de la gran edificaci\u00f3n, responde:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Se va a caer<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pero nadie parece darse cuenta\u2026\u00a0 Un momento, \u00bfnadie?<\/p>\n<p>(\u00bfcontinuar\u00e1?)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>-*-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En base a lo anteriormente expuesto, la Comisi\u00f3n Sexta del EZLN invita a l@s individu@s, grupos, colectivos y organizaciones que apoyaron y apoyan al CIG y, claro, que todav\u00eda piensan que los cambios que importan nunca vienen de arriba, sino de abajo (adem\u00e1s de que no hayan mandado su cartita de adhesiones y peticiones al capataz futuro) a un:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Encuentro de redes de apoyo al Concejo Ind\u00edgena de Gobierno.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Con la siguiente propuesta de temario:<\/p>\n<p>.- valoraciones the National and International Sixth:<\/p>\n<p>First and last point:<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Finale.<\/p>\n<p>You arrive at the grand stadium. \u201cMonumental,\u201d \u201ccolossal,\u201d \u201can architectonic marvel,\u201d \u201cthe concrete giant\u201d\u2014these and similar descriptors roll off the lips of TV broadcasters who, despite the different realities that they describe, all highlight the enormously proud structure.<\/p>\n<p>To get to the magnificent building, you\u2019ve had to wade through rubble, cadavers, and filth. Older folks say that it wasn\u2019t always like this, that it used to be that homes, neighborhoods, businesses, and buildings were erected around the great sporting hub. Rivers of people would rush all the way up to the gigantic entrance, which only opened once in a while and on whose threshold was inscribed, \u201cWelcome [<em>Bienvenido<\/em>] to the Supreme Game.\u201d Yes, \u201c<em>bienvenido<\/em>\u201d in the masculine, as if what occurred inside was exclusively a men\u2019s affair, as used to be the case with public bathrooms, bars, the machinery and tools sections of hardware stores\u2026and, of course, soccer.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->But from a bird\u2019s eye view, the image below could very well be a simile for a universe contracting, leaving death and destruction in its wake. It\u2019s as if the Grand Stadium were a black hole absorbing the life around it and, insatiable, burping and defecating lifeless bodies, blood, and shit.<\/p>\n<p>From a certain distance the structure can be better viewed in its totality, although from that distance one can see that its erroneous architectonic features, structural and foundational deficiencies, and fluctuating decor based on the whims of the current team are covered by an elaborate scaffolding plastered with calls to unity, faith, hope, and of course, charity, as if to confirm the similarity of worship across spheres of religion, politics, and sports.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t know much about architecture, but you\u2019re bothered by the almost obscene insistence on a staging that doesn\u2019t match up with reality. Colors and sounds proclaim the end of an era and the beginning of a new tomorrow, the promised land, that rest which not even death brings (as you are thinking this you make a mental count of all the people close to you who have been disappeared, murdered, or \u201cexported\u201d to other hells, and whose names are diluted in statistics and promises of truth and justice).<\/p>\n<p>In religion as well as politics and sports, there are specialists. You yourself don\u2019t know a lot about anything\u2014the incense, psalms, and praises that accompany those worlds make you dizzy. You don\u2019t feel capable of describing the structure because you walk in other worlds; the long and tedious paths you walk traverse what in the lofty balconies of the great stadium would be called \u201cthe underworld.\u201d Yes, that underworld of the street, the subway, the bus, a car bought on an installment plan or paid for with credit based on other credit (a debt always postponed and always growing), a dirt road, backcountry trails that lead to the cornfield, the school, the market, the <em>tianguis<\/em>, to work, a job, the grind.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re uncomfortable, it\u2019s true, but the optimism inside the great stadium is dominant, daunting, o-v-e-r-w-h-e-l-m-i-n-g, and it spills over to the outside.<\/p>\n<p>Like in that song you vaguely remember, the spectacle that has just ended joined together \u201cthe nobleman and the petty criminal, the proud man and the worm.\u201d For those few moments, equality reigned supreme\u2014despite the fact that the final whistle sent everyone back to their place in the hierarchy. Enough pretending that everyone is one of many, and once more, \u201c<em>with their hangovers hanging heavy \/ the poor man returns to his hovel \/ the rich man to his riches \/ and the priest to his flock \/ Good and evil are back in their place \/ the poor whore returns to the doorway \/ the rich whore to the rose garden \/ and the greedy man to his accounts.\u201d<a href=\"http:\/\/enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx\/2018\/07\/11\/convocation-to-a-gathering-of-support-networks-for-the-indigenous-governing-council-to-comparte-2018-for-life-and-freedom-and-to-the-fifteenth-anniversary-event-of-the-zapat\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+EnlaceZapatista+%28Enlace+Zapatista%29#_edn3\" name=\"_ednref3\"><strong>[iii]<\/strong><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now the noises and images before you indicate that the game has ended. The moment for the grand finale, so anxiously awaited and feared, has come, and the winning team accepts, with false modesty, the cheering of the crowd\u2014\u201cthe respectable public,\u201d as the political spokespeople and journalists call them. Yes, that\u2019s how they refer to those who have participated with shouts, chants, hurrahs, insults and diatribes from the stands, like spectators who are permitted only at the very end to pretend that they have the ball and that their cheering is the kick that will send the ball to \u201cthe back of the net.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How many times have you heard that one? So many that one wonders if it is even worth counting. The repeated defeats, the promise that the next time will be the one, and the excuses: the referee this, the field that, the weather, the lighting, the lineup, the strategy and tactics, and so on and so forth. At least today\u2019s illusion softens the history of failures\u2026a history to which a predictable (dis)illusion will soon be added.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the stadium, a malicious hand has scrawled a sentence on its proud walls: \u201cMISSING: REALITY.\u201d Not satisfied with its heresy, the hand has added designs and colors to the letters with such variety and creativity that they no longer look like spray paint. It\u2019s not even graffiti anymore, but rather an inscription, like an engraving chiseled into the cement, an indelible footprint on the indifferent surface of the wall. To top it all off, the last stroke of the last letter has opened a crack in the wall all the way to its foundation. A shredded and discolored poster with the image of a happy heterosexual couple with two children, a boy and a girl, and a title that reads \u201cThe Happy Family\u201d tries in vain to cover the fissure which, perhaps due to an optical illusion, seems to tear also through the happy image of the happy family.<\/p>\n<p>But not even the rumbling inside that shakes the walls of the stadium can hide the crack.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, even though the game has ended, the crowds haven\u2019t left the stadium. Though it won\u2019t be long before they\u2019re kicked back out into the valley of ruins, the cheering of the spellbound multitude echoes off the walls as people share anecdotes: who cheered the loudest, who told the best joke (they\u2019re called \u201cmemes\u201d), who told the most successful lie (the number of \u201clikes\u201d determine the degree of truth), who knew it from the beginning, who never doubted it would happen. In the stands, a few fans exchange analyses: \u201cDid you see how the opposing team changed jerseys at half-time, and that those who started the game in the opposing team\u2019s uniform are now celebrating the win?\u201d; \u201cThe referee (always the \u201csell-out ref\u201d) truly lived up to his job this time\u2014he really cleaned up this team\u2019s victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A few onlookers [<em>algunos, algunas, algunoas<\/em>], the more skeptical ones, notice with concern that members of rival teams are among those celebrating the triumph. They try to understand but can\u2019t wrap their heads around it. Or maybe they can, but this is a moment for rejoicing, not understanding. To make things crystal clear, a giant screen glows with the visual jingle of the moment: \u201cNo thinking allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Night seems to be settling in late, you think to yourself. But you realize that it\u2019s the neon reflectors and fireworks that simulate daylight. The light is not cast evenly, of course. Over there, in that corner, a set of risers have collapsed and the rescue teams aren\u2019t tending to the accident, busy as they are in the celebrations. Nobody asks how many were killed but rather which team they were rooting for. Farther away, in that other dark corner, a woman has been attacked, raped, kidnapped, murdered, disappeared. But come on, it\u2019s only one woman, or one elderly woman, or one young woman, or one little girl. The news media, always with their finger on the pulse, don\u2019t ask the name of the victim, but rather whether she was wearing the jersey of this or that team.<\/p>\n<p>But now is no time for bitterness; it\u2019s time for parties, for toasts, for t-h-e-e-n-d-o-f-h-i-s-t-o-r-y my friend, for the beginning of a new championship title. Outside, the darkness seems like a metaphor for the devastated terrain. Like a battlefield, in fact, you think to yourself.<\/p>\n<p>The din demands your attention again. You try to step back a bit to appreciate the impact of the spectacular triumph of your favorite team\u2026hmm\u2026was it your favorite team? It doesn\u2019t matter now, the winner was and always will be the favorite of the majority. Now of course everyone knew that the triumph was inevitable, and in the stands the logical explanations emerge: \u201cYes, no other result was possible, only that of the intoxicating trophy cup crowning the colors of the favorite team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You try, without success, to take on the enthusiasm that floods the stands and balconies. It seems to reach the highest point of the structure, where the polarized windows of what we can only assume is a luxurious VIP box reflect the lights, chants and images below.<\/p>\n<p>You struggle to navigate the risers; people are crammed into every aisle and flight of stairs. You\u2019re looking for someone or something that won\u2019t make you feel so strange, as if you\u2019re an alien or a time-traveler who has touched down in an unknown calendar and geography.<\/p>\n<p>You pause briefly where two elders are closely examining a sort of gameboard. No, they\u2019re not playing chess. Now that you\u2019re close enough, you can see that what they\u2019re looking at is a jig-saw puzzle with only a few pieces put together, the final image not even outlined yet.<\/p>\n<p>One of them says to the other: \u201cWell, no, to me it doesn\u2019t seem like fiction. After all, critical thought should start from a hypothesis, as crazy as it might seem. But it shouldn\u2019t abandon rigor: it should confront the hypothesis and verify whether it can proceed, or if it\u2019s necessary to find a different starting point.\u201d Taking one of the puzzle pieces, the person holds it up and says, \u201cFor example, it could be that sometimes the smallest thing helps you understand the big picture. Like if in this small piece, we could guess or intuit the completed image.\u201d You don\u2019t hear what comes after that because the neighboring groups shout down that strange pair and drown out their words.<\/p>\n<p>Someone has handed you a flyer. It reads, \u201cDisappeared\u201d and has an image of a woman whose age you can\u2019t decipher. An old woman, a middle-aged woman, a young woman, a little girl? The wind rips the flyer from your hand and it gets pulled into the swirl of streamers and confetti that cloud the air.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of girls\u2026<\/p>\n<p>A little girl with dark skin and strangely colorful and adorned clothing is looking at the stadium, the stands, the multicolored lights, the happy smiles of the winners and the malicious smiles of the losers.<\/p>\n<p>The little girl looks doubtful, you can tell from the expression on her face and her restless gaze.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re feeling pretty generous, after all, you have just won\u2026hmm\u2026 have you won? Well anyway, you\u2019re feeling generous so you ask her kind-heartedly what she is looking for.<\/p>\n<p>Without turning to look at you the little girl responds, \u201c<em>The ball<\/em>,\u201d her gaze sweeping across the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The ball<\/em>?\u201d you ask, as if the question came from another time, another world.<\/p>\n<p>The little girl sighs and adds, \u201c<em>Yeah, well, maybe the owner has it<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The owner<\/em>?\u201d you ask again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Yes, the owner of the ball, and the stadium, and the trophy, and the teams\u2014the owner of all of this<\/em>,\u201d the little girl replies, gesturing with her hands to the scope of the reality concentrated in the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>You search for words to tell the girl that these questions are neither here nor there, but just then you remember that you haven\u2019t seen the ball either. A fuzzy image comes to mind, from the beginning of the game you think, of a ball plastered with the logos of \u201cour friendly sponsors.\u201d But you can\u2019t recall seeing it again, even when the goals were made.<\/p>\n<p>But there they are on the scoreboard, noting the only reality that matters: who won, who lost. No scoreboard tells you who the owner is, not even of the scoreboard itself, much less of the ball, the teams, the courts, or the cameras and microphones.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, this scoreboard isn\u2019t just any scoreboard. It\u2019s the most modern scoreboard that exists and it cost a fortune. It comes with a VAR [Video Assistant Referee] to help the employees add or subtract points from the score, and for instant replays of that moment when \u201cTogether we made history.\u201d<a href=\"http:\/\/enlacezapatista.ezln.org.mx\/2018\/07\/11\/convocation-to-a-gathering-of-support-networks-for-the-indigenous-governing-council-to-comparte-2018-for-life-and-freedom-and-to-the-fifteenth-anniversary-event-of-the-zapat\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+EnlaceZapatista+%28Enlace+Zapatista%29#_edn4\" name=\"_ednref4\">[iv]<\/a> The scoreboard doesn\u2019t keep track of goals, but rather shouting: whoever yells the most wins. So who needs a ball?<\/p>\n<p>But now as you ponder your memories of the game you note something strange: a few minutes before the end of the game, the fans from the opposing team went silent, and the shouting from the eventually victorious team continued unrivaled. What a strange retreat by the opposition, you think. But even stranger is that before the scoreboard even showed the final score, before even the halftime score, the opposing team came back onto the field to congratulate the winners\u2026who hadn\u2019t even won yet. Those in the VIP boxes at the top of the stadium erupted into jubilant celebration, their banners now displaying the colors of the winner. When did they switch favorite teams? Who really won? And who owns the ball?<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>So why do you want to know who the owner is<\/em>?\u201d you ask the little girl, because her doubts aside, it\u2019s a moment for confetti and noisemakers, not stubborn questions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Oh, well, because the owner never loses. It doesn\u2019t matter which team wins and which loses, the owner always wins<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re troubled by the seed of doubt this plants. What makes you even more uncomfortable is seeing how those who had before said that the now victorious team would do great harm if it won, are currently celebrating its triumph as if it were theirs. And just a few hours ago it wasn\u2019t. In fact they aren\u2019t acting at all like they lost; it\u2019s more like they\u2019re celebrating the victory as if to say \u201cwe won once again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You are about to tell the little girl to take her bitterness elsewhere\u2014maybe it\u2019s that time of the month, or she\u2019s depressed, or she simply doesn\u2019t understand anything that\u2019s going on; after all, she\u2019s just a little girl. But just then the crowd erupts in commotion: the losing team has come back to the field to thank the public for their support. The people are still in the stands and observe, entranced, the modern gladiators who have defeated the beasts\u2026wait a minute! Aren\u2019t the beasts the ones who are now embracing, celebrating, and carrying the winning team on their shoulders?<\/p>\n<p>What the little girl said is making you think. You remember, with discomfort, that the opposing team, known for its boorishness, tricks, and deceit, left the game just before the final whistle. It was as if they feared that their own inertia could lead to their victory (fraudulent of course), and in order to avoid such an outcome they left the field entirely. Their followers and fans went with them, and now that you think about it, so did all their banners and flags.<\/p>\n<p>The commotion continues. From the looks of it the people in the stands aren\u2019t concerned by the absurdity taking place at centerfield, where a podium has been set up for the final awards.<\/p>\n<p>Timidly echoing the little girl\u2019s question, it is now you who asks,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWho owns the ball?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But the noise of the crowd swallows your question and nobody hears you.<\/p>\n<p>The little girl takes your hand and says: \u201c<em>Let\u2019s go, we have to get out of here.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Why<\/em>?\u201d you ask.<\/p>\n<p>Gesturing to the foundations of the huge building, the little girl answers,<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>It\u2019s going to fall<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But nobody seems to realize this\u2026 Wait a minute, nobody?<\/p>\n<p>(to be continued?)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>-*-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With regard to the above, the Sixth Commission of the EZLN invites all of the individuals, groups, collectives, and organizations that supported and support the CIG, and who, of course, still believe that the changes that matter never come from above but rather from below (and who have not sent their letter of support and requests to their future overseer) to a <strong>Gathering of Support Networks for the Indigenous Governing Council <\/strong>with the following program:<\/p>\n<p>\u2014Evaluation of the process of support for the CIG and its spokesperson Marichuy, and of the situation according to each group, collective, and organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014Proposals for next steps.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014Suggestions for how to consult those proposals with attendees\u2019 respective groups, collectives, organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Arrival and registration: August 2, 2018.
