Solidaridad con San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n en Escocia<\/p>\n

Hoy 7 de marzo, miembros del Grupo Solidario Edimburgo-Chiapas realizaron una mesa informativa con una pancarta gigante en el centro de la capital de Escocia y distribuyeron cientos de panfletos en solidaridad con los compa\u00f1er@s de San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Demandando la liberaci\u00f3n de los presos de San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n y de todos los prisioneros pol\u00edticos, los protestantes denunciaron los ataques en las comunidades de San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n, quienes est\u00e1n resistiendo los intentos del estado y de los grandes negocios de ocupar su tierra para hacer negocios rentables, como esos contemplados en el Plan Tur\u00edstico para Chiapas.<\/p>\n

Los panfletos tambi\u00e9n proporcionan detalles del embajador de M\u00e9xico en el Reino Unido, con una direcci\u00f3n en Internet que proporciona una carta de protesta como ejemplo que se puede enviar al embajador, en donde se demanda de manera urgente a las autoridades mexicanas la liberaci\u00f3n de los presos de San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Atrajo mucho la atenci\u00f3n de la gente la gran pancarta que le\u00eda:<\/p>\n

“M\u00e9xico… Sol, Diversi\u00f3n… Playas radiantes…
\nTortura… Escuadrones de la muerte… Violaci\u00f3n a Derechos Humanos”<\/p>\n

La pancarta se mont\u00f3 sobre la famosa estatua del Duque de Wellington en la calle “Princess Street”, la v\u00eda p\u00fablica m\u00e1s transitada en Edimburgo por al menos dos horas y se acompa\u00f1o de carteles y posters que proclamaban: “Solidaridad con La Otra Campa\u00f1a en San Sebasti\u00e1n Bachaj\u00f3n” y “No a la Represi\u00f3n en Chiapas”.<\/p>\n

Un miembro del Grupo Solidario Edimburgo-Chiapas remarco: “Los ideales de La Otra Campa\u00f1a son conjuntar las luchas comunes por el control de los recursos en todo el planeta. Como nuestro panfleto dice: \u00a1Si van por uno de nosotr@s, van por todos nosotr@s!”<\/p>\n

March 7th, 2011 – Day of Action for Immediate Release of Bachajon Prisoners<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n

In Edinburgh, a demonstration on the main street of the city was carried out to join the day of action for the release of San Sebastian Bachajon Prisoners. Demanding, the federal and Chiapas state governments to stop the repression against communities in resistance, both Zapatistas and adherents to The Other Campaign.<\/p>\n

Today 7th March members of Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group set up a stall and giant banner in the centre of Scotland’s capital and distributed hundreds of leaflets in solidarity with the comrades of San Sebastian Bachajon.<\/p>\n

Demanding the release of the prisoners from San Sebastian Bachajon and all political prisoners, the protesters denounced the attacks on communities such as San Sebastian Bachajon who are resisting attempts by the state and big business to take over their land for money-making projects, like those envisaged in the Tourist Plan for Chiapas.<\/p>\n

The leaflets also gave contact details for the Mexican Ambassador to the UK, with a weblink to a sample letter to the Ambassador urging that the Mexican authorities release the prisoners from San Sebastian Bachajon.<\/p>\n

Much attention was attracted by a giant banner proclaiming
\n\u201cMEXICO….
\nSun Fun \u2026 Bloomin nice beaches
\nTorture \u2026 Death Squads….Human Rights Breaches\u201d.
\nThe banner was draped over the famous Duke of Wellington statue in Princes Street, Edinburgh’s main thoroughfare for over two hours, and was accompanied by placards and posters proclaiming SOLIDARITY WITH THE OTHER CAMPAIGN IN SAN SEBASTIAN BACHAJON and NO TO REPRESSION IN CHIAPAS.<\/p>\n

A member of Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group stated: \u201cThe ideals of The Other Campaign are to bring together struggles for communal control of resources all over the planet.
