A l@s Artistas participantes en el CompArte<\/em><\/strong>: Hermanas y hermanos: Reciban nuestros saludos.\u00a0 Les escribimos para comunicarles lo siguiente:<\/p>\n Queremos de alguna forma hacerles saber y sentir, a todo@s l@s artistas que se comprometieron a participar en el CompArte<\/em><\/strong>, no s\u00f3lo nuestra admiraci\u00f3n y respeto.\u00a0 Tambi\u00e9n y sobre todo, nuestra convicci\u00f3n de que las horas oscuras actuales, y las que vendr\u00e1n, requieren de su quehacer y creatividad para encontrar el camino que, como humanidad, queremos, necesitamos y merecemos.<\/p>\n Y cuando hablamos de oscuridad, no s\u00f3lo nos referimos al horror que salta y destruye en cualquier punto de la ya doliente geograf\u00eda mundial.\u00a0 Tambi\u00e9n al mercantilismo pol\u00edtico y econ\u00f3mico que, sin importarle mayormente las muertes y desgracias, se lanza sobre los cad\u00e1veres a\u00fan tibios de las v\u00edctimas, y trata de sacar ganancia y ventaja.<\/p>\n Si la m\u00e1quina impone esta l\u00f3gica perversa en que cada dolor no indigna sino impermeabiliza, tal vez pueden ser las Artes quienes le recuerden a la humanidad que la persona no s\u00f3lo destruye y mata, impone y avasalla, desprecia y olvida; tambi\u00e9n es capaz de crear, liberar y hacer memoria.\u00a0 \u00bfNo incluso en las creaciones art\u00edsticas m\u00e1s dolientes y desgarradoras, palpitan la vida y la libertad?<\/p>\n Qu\u00e9 bueno, pensamos, sentimos, creemos, como zapatistas que somos, que hay artistas que sabr\u00e1n sacar, desde lo m\u00e1s profundo del calendario m\u00e1s oscuro, una luz de humanidad.<\/p>\n Porque si no es ahora, \u00bfentonces cu\u00e1ndo?<\/p>\n No queremos hacerles sentir que deben algo a nadie, ni sometimiento, ni seguimiento, ni incondicionalidad.\u00a0 No buscamos sus votos ni sus vetos.\u00a0 S\u00f3lo queremos decirles que, en ese mundo que avistamos desde la cofa del vig\u00eda, les miramos.\u00a0 O mejor a\u00fan, miramos sus creaciones.<\/p>\n As\u00ed pensamos.\u00a0 Sin embargo, vemos que nuestras ideas y sentimientos no alcanzan a cubrirse siquiera con estas palabras.<\/p>\n Es por esto que las zapatistas, los zapatistas, nos empe\u00f1amos en silencio en un nuevo esfuerzo que ahora les queremos comunicar:<\/p>\n Queremos saludarlos y homenajearlos como lo que son.\u00a0 No como militantes de las causas que con diferentes colores y s\u00edmbolos pueblan el mundo.\u00a0 S\u00ed como el paso en el que adivinamos un ma\u00f1ana m\u00e1s humano, m\u00e1s digno, mejor.<\/p>\n Nosotras las zapatistas, los zapatistas, no miramos hacia arriba.<\/p>\n S\u00f3lo frente a las ciencias y las artes levantamos nuestros ojos, nuestros o\u00eddos.\u00a0 Y no son el temor y la obediencia las que as\u00ed elevan nuestra mirada.\u00a0 Es el portento del conocimiento, es la maravilla de las artes.<\/p>\n Por eso nos hemos organizado para presentarles una versi\u00f3n muy apretada de lo que ha sido nuestro trabajo para el CompArte<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Esto con el \u00fanico objetivo de tratar de que sientan ustedes lo grande que son para nosotros, nosotras, zapatistas.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sabemos que l@s compas de la Sexta y parte de la comunidad art\u00edstica de Chiapas, con el compromiso siempre actuante de l@s compas del CIDECI, han seguido adelante con la organizaci\u00f3n del CompArte<\/em><\/strong> en el CIDECI a celebrarse en su local, de los d\u00edas 23 al 30 de julio del 2016.\u00a0 Esperamos de veras que esa celebraci\u00f3n sea tan brillante como lo es su quehacer art\u00edstico y que, en estos calendarios de oscura desesperanza, en ese rinc\u00f3n del mundo se respire otro aire y no sea la noche de arriba quien reine.\u00a0 Que, aunque sea en la fugacidad de una pieza musical, un trazo de pintura, un paso de baile, un fotograma, un rengl\u00f3n de un di\u00e1logo, un verso, un lo que sea, sea derrotada la hora del polic\u00eda, y en un segundo al menos se respire la posibilidad de otro mundo.<\/p>\n Entonces, aprovechando que algun@s (no tod@s, es cierto) estar\u00e1n creando en el CIDECI en esas fechas, queremos invitarlas, invitarlos, invitarloas<\/em><\/strong>, a participantes y asistentes, al caracol de Oventik el d\u00eda 29 de julio del 2016.\u00a0 Desde las 1000 y hasta al menos las 1900 horas (hora nacional) estaremos presentando teatro, bailables, m\u00fasica, poes\u00eda, pintura, pensamientos, y tal vez hasta adivinanzas.\u00a0 Aunque s\u00f3lo ser\u00e1 una peque\u00f1a parte de lo que se prepar\u00f3 en los pueblos para el CompArte<\/em><\/strong>, estar\u00e1n presentes los 5 caracoles que acuerpan a los pueblos zapatistas tzotziles, choles, tzeltales, tojolabales, zoques, mames y mestizos.\u00a0 A\u00fan con la premura, l@s compas zapatistas, se han preparado para celebrar, en honor de ustedes, la vida y la libertad.<\/p>\n Ya no ser\u00e1 todo lo que se prepar\u00f3 por nuestra parte, pero ser\u00e1 algo no menor: un regalo que queremos hacerles.\u00a0 De repente les gusta, de repente no.\u00a0 Pero estamos seguras, seguros, de que encontrar\u00e1n aqu\u00ed sonidos, colores, luces y sombras que no tienen m\u00e1s aspiraci\u00f3n que hacerles escuchar, mirar y sentir el \u201cgracias\u201d con que les abrazamos.<\/p>\n L@s artistas zapatistas hacen su presentaci\u00f3n el d\u00eda 29 de julio y el d\u00eda 30 regresan a sus comunidades.\u00a0 A menos, claro, que alguien les invite a estar en el \u00faltimo d\u00eda del festival CompArte<\/em><\/strong> en el CIDECI.\u00a0 En Oventik. ZAPATISTA ARMY OF NATIONAL LIBERATION July 17, 2016<\/p>\n To all the artists participating in the CompArte<\/em><\/strong>: Sisters and brothers: We send our greetings. We are writing to let you know the following:<\/p>\n We want to make sure that all of the artists who have committed to participating in CompArte<\/em><\/strong> know and feel our admiration and respect. But also, and above all, we want them to know of our conviction that in the dark hours of the present and the dark hours to come, their work and creativity will be required to find the path that we, humanity as a whole, want, need, and deserve.<\/p>\n When we speak of darkness, we are not only referring to the horrors that emerge and destroy all across the suffering world geography. We are also talking about the political and economic mercantilism that, without really caring much about the actual deaths and tragedies, pounce on the still-warm cadavers of the victims in an attempt to take advantage of and profit off their misfortune.<\/p>\n If the machine imposes a perverse logic in which every tragedy numbs rather than enrages, perhaps it could be the Arts that remind humanity that people not only kill and destroy, impose and dominate, humiliate and doom to oblivion, but can also create, liberate, and remember. Don\u2019t even the most heartbreaking and painful artistic works throb with life and liberty?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We as Zapatistas think that it is wonderful that there are artists who know how to bring forth, from the depths of the darkest calendar, a light for humanity.<\/p>\n Because if not now, when?<\/p>\n We don\u2019t want to make you feel as if you owe anything to anyone\u2014not submission, nor loyal following, nor unconditional support. We do not seek your votes nor your vetoes. We only want to tell you that in this world that we watch from the lookout\u2019s post, we see you. Or better yet, we see your art.<\/p>\n That\u2019s what we think. Yet we see that these words cannot begin to describe our ideas and feelings.<\/p>\n That is why we Zapatistas have silently begun a new endeavor that we want to let you know about here:<\/p>\n We want to greet and honor you for what you are. Not as militants of the causes that populate the world with their various colors and symbols, but rather as the path in which we can make out a better, more human, more dignified tomorrow.<\/p>\n We Zapatistas don\u2019t look up above.<\/p>\n We only lift our eyes and ears in front of the sciences and arts. And it isn\u2019t fear and obedience that raise our gaze. It is the wonder of knowledge, the marvel of the arts.<\/p>\n That is why we have organized ourselves to present a very abbreviated version of what we prepared for CompArte<\/em><\/strong>. We have done this with the sole purpose of trying to let you know how great we Zapatistas think you are.<\/p>\n We know that the compas<\/em> from the Sixth and part of the artistic community in Chiapas\u2014with the always active commitment of the compas<\/em> at CIDECI\u2014have continued preparations for CompArte<\/em><\/strong> to take place at CIDECI, July 23 through 30, 2016. We truly hope that this celebration will be as brilliant as your artistic works and that during these calendars of dark despair, and despite the long night imposed from above, another wind will blow through this corner of the world. Whether in the fleeting moment of a song, the stroke of a painting, a dance step, a photograph, a scripted dialogue, a poem, a whatever, let the hour of the police be defeated and for just a moment, let us breath in the possibility of another world.<\/p>\n So then, taking advantage of the fact that some people (not all, we know) will be creating art in CIDECI over the course of those days, we want to invite you [invitarlas, invitarlos, invitarloas<\/strong><\/em>] participants and observers to Oventik on July 29, 2016. From 10am to at least 7pm (national time) we will be performing theater, dance, music, poetry, painting, thinking, and perhaps even riddles. Although it is only a small part of what the communities prepared for CompArte<\/em><\/strong>, the five caracoles<\/em> that encompass the Tzotzil, Chol, Tzeltal, Tojolabal, Zoque, Mame, and mestizo Zapatista communities will be represented. Even on short notice, the Zapatista compas<\/em> have prepared to celebrate, in your honor, life and freedom.<\/p>\n It won\u2019t be everything we had prepared, but it will be something significant: a gift we want to give you. Maybe you\u2019ll like it, maybe you won\u2019t. But we are sure that you will find here sounds, colors, lights and shadows that have as their only goal to let you hear, see, and feel the \u201cthank you\u201d with which we embrace you.<\/p>\n The Zapatista artists will perform on July 29 and will return to their communities on July 30. That\u2019s unless someone invites them to attend the last day of the CompArte<\/em><\/strong> festival in CIDECI. In that case, they will make a stop in CIDECI to learn a little from you all.<\/p>\n So now you know:<\/p>\n The geography? The caracol<\/em> of Oventik.<\/p>\n The calendar? July 29, 2016, from 10am to 7pm.<\/p>\n Maybe it will rain, maybe not. Maybe it will be cold, maybe not.
