Caravana de solidaridad y apoyo a nuevo poblado zapatista Comandante Abel
El Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas, el Movimiento de El Bosque por la Libertad de Alberto Patishtán, Defensa Estratégica en Derechos Humanos, en coordinación con los familiares de Alberto Patishtán Gómez (en adelante Alberto Patishtán) anunciamos el inicio de una estrategia jurídica en la que se solicitará a la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN), que asuma, de acuerdo a su competencia, un incidente de reconocimiento de inocencia a favor del profesor tsotsil Alberto Patishtán.
Con esta nueva acción jurídica, la SCJN tendrá una oportunidad única de hacer justicia a Alberto Patishtán, preso político desde hace 12 años, quien actualmente se encuentra detenido en el Centro Estatal para la Reinserción Social de Sentenciados No. 5, en San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Chiapas.
Desde hace cuatro meses, desde el comienzo de la campaña por su libertad, miles de organizaciones, colectivos, comunidades y personas se han solidarizado con el profesor tsotsil en más de 30 países alrededor del mundo. En ese marco, el día de hoy 27 de agosto, se inicia la Cuarta Etapa: de Acción Global para Tumbar Las Paredes del Calabozo, Campaña Mundial, convocada por el Movimiento por Justicia del Barrio de La Otra Campaña de Nueva York, que en los próximos días dará a conocer las acciones internacionales a favor de la libertad de Alberto Patishtán.
En Chiapas, dentro esta Campaña Mundial, este viernes 31 de agosto, se realizará un día de ayuno y oración por varias parroquias de la Diócesis de San Cristóbal de Las Casas y el día 4 de septiembre próximo, el Pueblo Creyente ha convocado a una peregrinación de la zona tsotsil, la cual culminará con una celebración en la Catedral de San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
La familia de Alberto Patishtán, la comunidad de El Bosque y las organizaciones firmantes, hacemos un llamado a la sociedad civil nacional e internacional, organizaciones, colectivos, comunidades e individuos a unirse a las diferentes iniciativas por la libertad de Alberto Patishtán, comenzando por enviar cartas al Ministro Presidente de la SCJN, para que dentro de sus facultades, ésta asuma el recurso a favor del profesor tsotsil.
Consideramos que es de suma importancia hacer visibles las acciones a favor de la libertad de Alberto Patishtán, ya que es una oportunidad para que, a través del Máximo Tribunal del País, se obtenga su libertad.

Como colectivo Gruppe B.A.S.T.A. de Münster, Alemania, hemos formado un nuevo comité de la palabra verdadera para realizar actvidades en apoyo solidario a las comunidades zapatistas.
Con muchísima preocupación observamos la represión, el despojo y la violencia en contra de nuestr@s herman@s zapatistas en Chiapas, México.Protestamos enérgicamente contra estos crimenes de parte de los tres niveles de gobierno en México y seguimos informando al público.
Vamos a organizar tres eventos informativos (el 27 de septiembre, el 2 de octubre y el 16 de octubre) en diferentes lugares de nuestra ciudad, con volantes, fotos y videos sobre las amenazas y ataques en contra de l@s compas zapatistas de las comunidades San Marcos Áviles y Comandante Abel. También vamos a explicar la situación del hermano zapatista Francisco Sántiz López, quien fue injustamente encarcelado en diciembre de 2011. ¡Exigimos su liberación inmediata!
Un compa observador de derechos humanos de nuestra ciudad, que estuvó en la comunidad de San Marcos Áviles, va a hablar sobre la situación de este pueblo rebelde. También vamos a presentar las denuncias de las Juntas de Buen Gobierno zapatistas sobre la represión en contra de la lucha zapatista. The UK Zapatista Solidarity Network would like to propose that we all issue a joint statement from our various places in every corner of the world. We invite everyone to sign this worldwide declaration in support of the dignified struggle of the Zapatista support bases of San Marcos Avilés and the Zapatista political prisoner Francisco Sántiz López. This declaration is being circulated in association with the “Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Sántiz López” Campaign, called by our compañer@s of the Other Campaign New York.
The plan is for the declaration to be presented, with all the collected signatures, during the second phase of the Campaign in September 2012.

WORLDWIDE ECHO FOR FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR SAN MARCOS AVILÉS AND FRANCISCO SÁNTIZ LÓPEZ: DECLARATION IN SUPPORT OF THE ZAPATISTAS
We view with profound concern, and demand an immediate end to, the continued acts of intimidation and aggression and the human rights abuses being committed against members of the Zapatista support base community in San Marcos Avilés, official municipality of Chilón, Chiapas, Mexico. We also call for the immediate liberation of the Zapatista political prisoner Francisco Sántiz López, who has been jailed since December 2011 in a flagrant abuse of justice.
Responding to the numerous denouncements and calls issued by the Zapatista Good Government Junta of Oventic and the community of San Marcos Avilés, we manifest in this declaration our solidarity with our brothers and sisters there, as well as with Francisco Sántiz López.
We are aware of the very serious new threats being made against the community of San Marcos Avilés by representatives of political parties in the area. Of particular concern are the open and blatant threats of displacement, physical violence, and the on-going climate of hostility promoted by these individuals. We consider such reprehensible aggression to be extremely serious in light of the events of September 2010, when vigilantes from the Green Ecological Party of Mexico (PVEM), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), led by Lorenzo Ruiz Gómez and Vicente Ruiz López, attacked Zapatista support bases, displacing 170 people and destroying their property and crops.
In relation to the case of Francisco Sántiz López, a Zapatista support base from the Banavil ejido of Tenejapa, who was originally detained in December 2011 under false charges of having orchestrated a conflict in Banavil, we affirm the evidence collected by the Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas Human Rights Centre and recounted by several witnesses, that he indeed was not present at the location where the events took place on 4th December 2011. His false imprisonment and the continued refusal of local authorities to examine this evidence are, in our view, further indication that the judicial system in Chiapas is wielded as tool of political repression against those who struggle for justice.
In respect to current events in San Marcos Avilés, we demand:
An immediate end to all death threats, verbal and physical harassment, and threats against the property and well-being of the Zapatista Support Base members by elements of the political parties in the San Marcos Avilés ejido
Protection for the life and safety of the Zapatista support base members of San Marcos Avilés
Respect for the Zapatista Support Base community’s inalienable right to autonomy as indigenous peoples, as enshrined in the internationally recognized ILO Convention No. 169 and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, both of which the government of Mexico has signed
In respect of the case of Zapatista support base Francisco Sántiz López, we demand his immediate and unconditional release, as well as a swift investigation and prosecution of the perpetrators of violence in Banavil, Tenejapa Municipality, Chiapas.
To our brothers and sisters suffering injustice and violence in Chiapas, we remind you that your struggle is not carried out in silence, nor is it invisible. Indeed, countless individuals, organizations, and communities from around the world remain vigilant regarding your situation and have joined an international campaign in solidarity with your struggle. For our part, from cities across the world we send you a warm embrace, to let you know that we know who you are and what you are fighting for, and to say that we will do whatever we can to support you. We will all continue to make an echo of your just demands, an echo that resonates with the collective heartbeat of the earth.

Crónica de la actividad del
Comité de la Palabra Verdadera de Bogotá, Colombia
“Eco Mundial en Apoyo a l@s Zapatistas: Justicia y Libertad para San Marcos Avilés y Francisco Sántiz López”
El pasado viernes 30 de agosto desde las 10 de la mañana más de 200 personas se acercaron a la mesa informativa y de solidaridad con lxs zapatistas en Chiapas.
Se repartieron flyers informativos en donde narramos la situación de continuas agresiones que vive la Base de Apoyo San Marcos Áviles, las estrategias divisionistas del mal gobierno para que lxs compas resistan de su proyecto de autonomía y cómo las comunidades a pesar de la violencia que viven constantemente no se rinden y siguen luchando por mantener su proyecto de autonomía.
Informamos también sobre la situación del compañero Francisco Santiz Lopez, preso político zapatista desde diciembre del año pasado, quien es víctima de las falsas acusaciones del mal gobierno.
Una galería fotográfica de Chiapas fue expuesta durante todo el día en donde se intentaba reflejar las creaciones autónomas de las comunidades indígenas que allí viven: las oficinas de mujeres por la dignidad, las escuelas autónomas zapatistas, los tribunales alternativos contra los feminicidios, la riqueza natural que allí existe y que lxs zapatistas vienen defendiendo ante los continuos ataques del mal gobierno para apropiarse de estos territorios y hacer de ellos fuentes de explotación para el capitalismo, mediante la construcción de reservas turísticas, el fomento de los monocultivos depredadores, la construcción de carreteras. Todo ello a costa del despojo de quienes ancestralmente han vivido, cuidado y resignificado sus vidas a partir de la pertenencia a estos territorios.
El arte característico del zapatismo también formó parte de esta jornada de solidaridad, utilizamos unos marcos para estampar diseños zapatistas que expresan sus ideas de lucha y resistencia, sobre las camisas de quienes se iban acercando: “Trabajar para luchar, luchar para trabajar” y “Las mujeres con la dignidad rebelde” fueron las frases zapatistas que han inspirado las luchas por la tierra y por la dignidad de las mujeres y su importante papel en las luchas por la transformación social.
En esta jornada también fue posible recaudar algunos fondos a través de los aportes solidarios por los estampados y de las postales zapatistas que serán utilizados para apoyar la educación autónoma zapatista mediante la compra de materiales para las escuelas y para apoyar la digna lucha por la memoria de la Sociedad Civil las Abejas de Acteal, organización hermana de la lucha Zapatista.
Todas las personas que participaron de la jornada manifestaron una abierta simpatía con el zapatismo y afirmaron la gran influencia que han ejercido sus ideas y prácticas políticas basadas en la autogestión, la horizontalidad, el feminismo y la autonomía sobre los distintos procesos de resistencia en Bogotá, que también luchan día a día por un mundo mejor.
De esta forma, al igual que lo que expresó el pensador uruguayo Raúl Zibechi en su carta de apoyo al Eco Mundial por lxs Zapatistas, esta jornada fue una expresión más de que quienes participamos en ella creemos que “destruir al movimiento zapatista sería una doble victoria: contra los pueblos y comunidades de Chiapas y contra quienes en el mundo nos inspiramos en su ejemplo”.
Since the beginning of the “Worldwide Echo” campaign, the dignified and courageous story of our compañer@s from San Marcos Avilés has been a source of profound inspiration and transformation. Forcing us to recognize our own humanity and interconnectedness in this world, the pain and resilience of our Zapatista compas continue to inspire and move people of all walks of life to join the struggle to support them.
Although our campaign is indeed made up of many longtime supporters and seasoned social justice veterans, the moving story of the community of San Marcos Avilés has been so powerful that it has also motivated people with limited exposure to social justice struggles and literally no prior knowledge of the Zapatistas.
This is the power of the true word. It enables us to continue building and strengthening our local and global struggles by reaching out to new people of good hearts to join forces and transform our world.
Such is the case in the following letter written by a group of good-hearted co-workers who, despite being unfamiliar with the Zapatistas, were so taken by the video-message from San Marcos Avilés that they banded together, researched the history of the Zapatistas, and formed a Comité de la Palabra Verdadera (Committee of the True Word) to support our compas. Here are their moving words which illustrate the power of organizing from below.
To the people of San Marcos Aviles
We are a group of people from England who have just watched the video message you sent to the world asking for support in the crisis you are facing.
We were deeply moved by the video, and shocked at what you are having to endure. We had never heard of the Zapatistas before, and knew nothing of your history. As a result of watching this video, we have now learned about you and are going to tell others. We have asked for the video to be screened much more widely so many more people can learn about it, and are going to ask our friends to come and watch it too.
We have stated that we wish to back the campaign in your support, and have signed the Declaration.
We have been told that we can send you a short letter of support. We want you to know that we are thinking of you, that we wish you well, and that we are reaching out our hands to you.

“THE WOMEN OF MEXICO JOIN YOUR STRONG AND DETERMINED STRUGGLE”
In a moving and crucial letter, Dr. Sylvia Marcos adds her voice and the voices of all Mexican women to the “Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López” Campaign, demanding in burning words an end to the aggression against the Zapatista project and the immediate release of Sántiz López.
The great Mexican thinker, academic, and feminist—known worldwide for her numerous articles and books on gender, Mesoamerican religions, and indigenous knowledge in Mexico—addresses directly the women of the Zapatista movement in the following statement. She writes that the dignified women of Mexico are on their side, as they see “in the Zapatista women the model of being a woman who defends her rights without forgetting to support the collective rights of her people.”
Author of the recently published book Women, Indigenous, Rebels, Zapatistas, Dr. Marcos expresses her hope that the “cry” emanating from around the world manages to stop “the aggressions against the autonomous education project and against all the ways of life of the Zapatista organization,” as “autonomous education forms the new beings who will make this other world a reality.”
These words serve as an important reminder that what the Zapatista project offers extends beyond the jungles of Chiapas; it holds significance for the entire world. Leading the construction of this project are the indigenous zapatista women.

Dear compañeros,
I am totally outraged by the situation of violence and repression that exists in the Zapatista community of San Marcos Avilés, and by the situation facing the compañero political prisoner Francisco Sántiz Lόpez.
Here’s my message for the Worldwide Echo in Support of the Zapatistas: Freedom and Justice for San Marcos Avilés and Francisco Sántiz López.
Compañeras women and men of the world,
The Zapatista women, brave and rebel compañeras, are defending the legacy of Zapatista autonomous education; and from here, the women of Mexico join their strong and determined struggle. They can count on our support as they continue building the world we all long for. We can glimpse the daily and painful struggles which are facing our Zapatista compañeras and we join together with them.
We demand an end to the acts of aggression from the enemies of this educational, social and political Zapatista project which gives hope, especially to women, who see in the Zapatista women the model of being a woman who defends her rights without forgetting to support the collective rights of her people.
You must know, Zapatistas compañeras, that your project is the hope and the light on the road to the construction of an “other” world, where it can become a reality that “we are equal because we are different”, as you yourselves have said.
We support them and we hope that the cry emanating from around the world will stop the aggressions against the autonomous education project and against all the ways of life of the Zapatista organization. In San Marcos Avilés, Zapatista support base, a way of life is being put in action which makes possible today the worlds to come which we all wish for: Worlds where justice, dignity and peace and gender harmony can be experienced and made possible. Autonomous education forms the new beings who will make this other world a reality.
And the unjustly imprisoned Zapatista compañero Francisco Sántiz Lόpez must be freed.

CONVOCATORIA:
ACOPIO PARA LA NUEVA COMUNIDAD COMANDANTE ABEL.

Compañeros y compañeras adherentes a la Sexta Declaración de la Selva Lacandona, a los participantes en la Otra campaña estatal, nacional e internacional, a las personas de buen corazón, a todos y todas, hacemos un llamado humilde para juntar nuestra rabia y posicionamiento político de “abajo y a la izquierda”, para tejer juntas y juntos la solidaridad organizada ante los acontecimientos y la actual situación de la Nueva Comunidad Comandante Abel (antes San Patricio).
En el Cuarto Informe de las Brigadas de Solidaridad compartimos brevemente la situación que se vive en la comunidad Ch´ol como parte de la guerra de contrainsurgencia. Y mencionábamos “…, considerando que a raíz de la invasión que sufrió la comunidad en Septiembre del 2011 perdieron sus cosechas de maíz, de frijol, arboles frutales entre otras cosas. Sin embargo ante el despojo de los bienes producidos colectivamente los zapatistas deciden vivir tranquilos y valoran que existe mayor seguridad y confianza; de este modo construyen poco a poco sus casas, siembran poco a poco la milpa y también la esperanza; los trabajos colectivos y las cooperativas continúan, la escuela y salud autónoma sigue en pie…”
Considerando que se sigue resistiendo y paralelamente construyendo un espacio digno y rebelde por parte de las familias bases de apoyo zapatistas nos vemos con el compromiso ético-político de hacer un llamado a todos y todas ustedes para sumarnos solidariamente. Para poder desarrollar de manera coordinada este acopio, vemos la necesidad de responder tres interrogantes : ¿Qué? ¿Hasta cuándo? y ¿Cómo?
Por tanto la primera pregunta ¿Qué?, responde al apoyo de bienes alimenticios específicos que se necesitan:
Arroz,
Frijol
Azúcar.
Respetando de igual modo las temporalidades propias de la producción campesino-indígena, dicha campaña tendrá una duración a partir de éste llamado hasta el mes de enero.
Y por último, respondiendo al ¿Cómo? consideramos que la forma de organizar la entrega del acopio se realizaría del siguiente modo; aquell@s que viven o andan en Chiapas, pueden llevar los artículos antes mencionados al siguiente lugar:

Pronuniciamiento del Comite Noruego de Solidaridad conAmerica Latina
Desde lo más profundo de nuestros corazones queremos gritar un ¡YA BASTA DE INJUSTICIAS EN CONTRA DE LAS COMUNIDADES ZAPATISTAS! Con fuerte indignación nos enteramos de la nueva invasion paramilitar a las tierras de la Nueva Comunidad Comandante Abel, anterior San Patricio.
Una comunidad de dignos y valientes compañeros y compañeras que desde los 90s han sido hostigados, agredidos, cazados y asesinados por paramilitares del Paz y Justicia y posteriormente de miembros del PRI y UCIAF.
Ha pasado apenas un año desde la última invasion de sus tierras, en septiembre 2011. En días pasados los paramilitares volvieron a invadir, con lujo de violencia y soltando disparos hacía los hombres, mujeres y niños, que pacificamente e indefensos resisten debajo de los árboles y behucos para defender la tierra y sus vidas.
Vemos claramente como las bases de apoyo zapatistas de la Zona Norte buscan las formas de evitar un nuevo derrame de sangre, igual que lo que los paramilitares ocacionaron impunemente en los 90, mientras los paramilitares sí o sí quieren la tierra que no es suya, y están siendo instrumento del estado para atacar a las bases de apoyo zapatistas y al EZLN. Vemos como el gobierno mexicano aprovecha la conjunctura post – electoral para atacar y despojar a las comunidades zapatistas y creen que con eso se pueden lavar las manos ante los derrames de sangre que se diseñan desde instancias gubernamentales.
Exigimos el cese inmediato a la guerra contra las comunidades zapatistas.
Exigimos el retiro inmediato de los paramilitares de las tierras de la Comunidad Comandante Abel.
Exigimos el cese de la impunidad que gozan los paramilitares de Tila y Sabanilla.
Exigimos la presentación con vida de las personas que continuan desaparecidos despues de la invasión.
Exigimos el respeto a los Acuerdos de San Andrés asi como otros convenios internacionales de derechos colectivos de pueblos indígenas que México ha firmado.
Exigimos el respeto a la vida y las garantías de vida de las familias zapatistas de la Zona Norte.
Queremos además decir a lxs comapñerxs zapatistas, y especialmente a las compañeras y los compañeros de la Comunidad Comandante Abel, y de la Junta de Buen Gobierno del Caracol V Roberto Barrios que no están solos.

El Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolomé de Las Casas, el Movimiento de El Bosque por la Libertad de Alberto Patishtán, Defensa Estratégica en Derechos Humanos, en coordinación con los familiares de Alberto Patishtán Gómez (en adelante Alberto Patishtán) anunciamos el inicio de una estrategia jurídica en la que se solicitará a la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN), que asuma, de acuerdo a su competencia, un incidente de reconocimiento de inocencia a favor del profesor tsotsil Alberto Patishtán.
